Haha fair enough mate, I guess at the end of the day if he was perfectly happy there he wouldn't have walked.
I suspect that when he wasn't able to sign Jerry Yates, Eion Doyle etc this put him on the back foot from the start and we didn't start the league 1 campaign as well as he would have liked. As you say, you don't leave somewhere if you aren't happy.

On that note, I live with a Blackpool fan and watch them a fair bit. Jezza has been class this season.

Nearly all of the Notts fans on here seem decent to be fair.

i only of long eaton pie and jacob and yeah they’re ok i’m honesty, it’s more those at home/during games
Cobblers must be the perennial L1/L2 yoyo club of nowadays. Seems like they're up or down almost every season.

you’re right about northampton - never in mid table chilling

Doesn't make me feel any better! Lol.

Fair play to him, he has had a great season and has stepped up to League 1 football easily.

I only had Masi on ignore but considering Robshep (who is a decent poster aside from the back and forths) quotes him all the time I may as well have not bothered, so they are both on ignore.

I'd like Sutton to come up, they've had a good season and it would be nice to see them finish it off, it isn't often a team such as ourselves or Sutton have a huge opportunity to win the Conference, apart from ourselves and Macclesfield a few years ago the only clubs that seem to win the league are those flush with cash or those traditional, well equipped Football League sides.
He only posts anti Bolton.....crack on

Barnet have come into form just before they’re due to play us.

Fortunately our game in hand over Torquay is Woking at home however.

I think I told you before that I did watch a few Sutton home games back in 2008, in that terrible season that you Sutton fans had to sit through. Anyway, has that lovely ground of yours changed a lot since then or is still more or less the same?

Would be nice to have Rochdale down with us since Tranmere and Bolton look like they could both be pissing off and Bury have inconsiderately gone pop. Not bothered other than that. Northampton isn’t my favourite place to visit after our relegation there but looks like they’re joining us too along with Swindon and Bristol R.

Would take Sutton coming up for a London(ish) trip. Ordinarily would like to see either Wrexham or Stockport join them as both would be good days out but as mentioned, both would probably throw cash at it which would make any slim chance we have of a good season even harder. So Torquay for me.

The only season in the last 18 where I lived locally to Sutton, and thus had my best attendance record. I’m still having nightmares.

Gander Green Lane has had some changes. The old running track end miles from the pitch has been replaced with a tinpot covered terrace (which serves as the away end). And we wasted some of the 16/17 season FA Cup money on a tinpot scoreboard. Plus the 3G which obviously wouldn’t be there if we were promoted.

Rochdale are 5 adrift with a game in hand. They're a tidy side, play total football, which is kamikaze at times, but have a defence like a sieve. They've scored as many as 5th placed Blackpool but have the second worst defence in the division. They have an ok run-in so might make it out (they also play AFCW).
What a lovely description, I think they would be most welcome down here...I could see making a trip to Greater Manchester for an away game, as long as away fans are allowed into games by then, added bonus of ticking off another ground.

Rochdale in League 1 need to be like Oldham in League 2. Best attack and worst defence in the same season is a great effort. I love the fact that Stevenage who have scored just over half of Oldham have one less point and are level on GD. I know which side I’d rather watch.

I’m expecting Rovers to still be in L2 next season, so in terms of score-settling for our demotion would be happy to see Northampton and AFC Wimbledon dropping down, would have rather Swindle stayed up given our record against them, but not going to happen.

Coming up for the reasons others have stated would rather moneybags Stockport and Wrecsam miss out. Quite hoped Torquay would get back up but happy enough with any of the others in the top 7.

Wrexham coming up would be awful, imagine the Ryan Reynolds w#$%fest.
I hope its Torquay and Hartlepool.
At least we may get some more local games with Rovers and Swindon coming back

I see Sutton are whinging about losing 500k if they have to rip up the 3G
Surely they will get a lot more than that if they get promoted.
No wonder they seem to be bottling it.

If we are still here come August it wont be the end of the world we have the makings of a top lge 2 team with
Gilks, Santos, MJ Williams, Lee,Sarcevic, Thomason, Doyle signed for next season....plus Politic to return
If we go up we will have to sign better to go with those players

i'm guessing that's about B2TF??
Communal ignore button. Its bliss not seeing anything he has to say. That's if the miracle should happen that is. If we win a play off competition that includes. Hartlepool. Stockport. Maybe Chesterfield and Notts County. There's a good chance our players would be immediately drug tested ha

Although you get these Wrexham fans and others bitching about how long they've been out of the football league. We've been out nearly 20 years. It's got to happen eventually right

we did 5 and it seemed a eternity. Wrexham went down with us so i do feel their pain, but yeah amazing you’ve been down there that long.

Did you ever get round to finishing the work on that last stand?

Power has to respond to the FA charges today. It all seems a bit of arse about face as there is a court case to come to decide who owns what of the club. Standing, the agent who says he bought 50% of Power’s 85% of the club, has put in over £5m (mug). He has already resigned from his own agency so I presume he knows a FA ban is coming. If that’s the case, I suspect Power knows he’s going to get one too - permanent, hopefully.

Got 2 buyers who want the club. An American company, Able, who by dint of being Power’s preferred buyer has already set the alarm bells ringing and Axis, an Aussie company whose owner already as a 15% stake in STFC.

As with all lower league clubs that don’t actually own their own ground I struggle to see what the attraction is for any buyer. The Yanks are based in Boston and are, essentially, developers.

And an excellent chippy right outside the away end.

Sutton are still winning the league, three games in hand on us, one on Torquay and they still have two walkover games against Barnet to play, the rest of us are just playing for Playoff positions.
They’re not walkover matches any more. At least not compared to a few weeks ago.

C'mon you seagulls!!!
An english riviera weekender would do us all the world of good after the shite year we've had.
We are just Gulls (Seagulls is Brighton).

Anyway it's going to be Sutton and then anyone's guess who gets through the playoffs.

Least sutton will be a local derby for mansfield as there’s one 3 miles away.

It appears this sutton is an imposter.

word had it the chippy had gone
Conflicting messages, there must be more than one chippy in Rochdale...I'm a bit partial to fish and chips post match, to fortify me for a long journey home. Once got on a train at York after visiting a great chippy, train was full and it must have been mental torture for the other passengers...thought I was going mugged for my dinner!

If Wimbledon do get relegated then Sutton would be a Very local Derby.

I've spent many an hour in the local environs. From relatives at Nonsuch Park, evenings in the " most dangerous pub in Britain" (St Heliers Arms) and nights in St Heliers hospital....it definitely was a dodgy pub...I was pretty familiar with the area.

Love to see Sutton make it up.

We may disagree over our teams Greenacres, but I have to agree with your views on Chippys.

I'm now bloody starving as well just thinking about one.
