Did i already mentioned these days that i am from EAST Germany? Just to make things clear

Ah, this explains why you're the more nationalistic guy of us. Thought you were from the Harz Region...the "Ostzonen" Harz then, right? ;)

Oh, you got me wrong, i am not nationalistic. I just hate all the people, no matter where are they from.

I can't believe how badly Germany have prepared for this World Cup. It seemed obvious after Mexico that their tactical set up had to change. You can't leave yourself so open on the counter attack, especially if you are failing to score. Yet they were guilty of the same arrogance or stupidity in all three games.

Good finding.

The laugh is always on the loser, that's okay.

I wouldn't say "arrogance". They simply can't play better in 2018. Mats Hummels was right when he said in the after match interviews that the last decent match we made was in November 2017. Since then we lost more matches than we won, could only beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in a friendly (which should also be a draw) and beat Sweden with a lucky punch 5 minutes in overtime.

Terrible misuse of Ozil too. The one game he should have played in was probably Sweden.

Woken up with mixed emotions today. Part of me still delighted that Korea put Germany out, but part of me slightly disappointed that we won't face them in a knockout. I know it's not quite as big for them as it is for us, but I sort of wanted those nerves and the hype of a big clash against them.

Are you talking about a (now impossible) England vs Germany match?

Believe me when I say that an England vs Germany match would never thrill us more than Germany vs Netherlands or Germany vs Italy.

We respect England as a big football nation, of course, but you're not one of our archrivals.

There's certainly been too much hubris with the "it'll be alright on the night" "real football starts in the knockouts" attitude.

Whilst you don't want to go all guns blazing from the start, (England for example won't want Panama to be our peak) surely it's not possible to go from stone cold to fully on it, the second the group gets tougher or when the knockout football starts.

Low seemed pretty clueless when plan A wasn't working. If having such a low opinion of warm up friendlies means you can't be arsed to use them to figure out tactical plans, then you may as well not plan any friendlies at all.

As for a proper England v Germany clash, that time will come.

And Germany will win it on penalties as usual!

Yep, that's what I was getting at. It's massive for us, though. Especially among the people who were growing up in the late 80s and 90s. Italia 90, Euro 96 and that 5-1 qualifier cemented that.

Yep. Brazil at times vs Serbia were teetering on the edge of sublime but just not quite clicking. They are definitely following this warming up malarky to a T so far. Uruguay too, actually. Will be interesting to see if Croatia have peaked as well, as they have been terrific so far despite not looking they were in great shape going into the tournament.

Agree with that, albeit not quite sure I do with Brazil. I still haven't seen much from them that scares me. If Mexico play like they did against Germany, I see no reason why they can't knock Brazil out. (if they play like they did against Sweden though then they'll get hammered)

So what now? Will Low be given a chance to turn it round do you think?

Maybe sublime was a bit too lavish a word haha. Some of their build up play has been really neat and a Neymar touch too many or mishit shot away from a great move, though. They seem a bit more direct and tougher than usual but have obviously got the talent to be able to turn on the style at some point.

Yeah can't argue with that. I was actually commenting to a couple of mates last night that for once Neymar is passing the ball and look how much better their play is (plus he isn't getting injured constantly)

But, but, I thought Germany were just playing it easily and really showing how good they are at the World Cup? Was los Dirk?

Told you so and all that. The squad's lack of character was obvious. This is a good thing for the side in the long run. Löw needs to go and experienced players must stand up and be counted (that's you Mr Kroos). Been saying this since our win against the Germans at the Euros.

Great drama at the end of the game though.

Joachim Low annouces he will remain in charge as German head coach, having only signed a new contract until 2022 recently.

"I want to design the rebuilding with full commitment," he added. "It all takes time, but everything will happen in time for the start of the new international season in September."

Probably the right decision tbf

It was about time the Germans had to suffer a bit in football, we've all been there
