Banega off now for being last man, in the 91st min. Back to parity going into extra time.

He had to give that though not to make it look too suspicious. Dunno if Neymar could have gone on for a shot though.

I saw a gif of Suarez crying again.

I don't suppose he'll miss the start of next season?

The first assist by Messi was absolute perfection.

He was joining in the celebrations at the end, so I think he'll be back by then undoubtedly.

I have been looking through the European leagues tonight and noticed in the Spanish second division that Alaves who played Liverpool a few years ago in that fantastic UEFA league final are top of the league after 39 games having scored just 43 goals, that must be close to being some sort of record if they go on like this and win the league.
Infact the top scorers in the league have just fifty odd I think I remember

Indeed, it was a blinder of a game, big Gary as well having his Indian summer that season, and what a summer it was.

Milan in 1993/94 won Serie A scoring 36 goals in 34 games, that shouldn't be possible but its incredible

I agree smally that stat of Milan scoring just 36 goals in a league winning campaign is amazing, but being Italy not too surprising.
I used to watch the Italian league on Sunday afternoons but even channel 4 gave up on it after a couple of seasons.
A truely boring league to follow .
Is that a world record do you know ?

Maybe not blood bags but they are certainly on something judging by their smiles. I think Neymar has been handing out the coke.

Messi (and father) found guilty of tax evasion and sent to jail for 21 months...not that he will need to actually serve that inside!

TBF He won't be the only well know footballer/celeb with a few tax issues.

They probably wanted to make an example of Messi.

The same happened to Mascherano in January and he seems to be doing okay still.

Look at the state of this statement from Barcelona:

FC Barcelona has set up a campaign in support of Leo Messi following the sentence issued this week against the Argentinian and his father.
Using the hashtag #WeAreAllLeoMessi while posting a photo or message with both hands open, the campaign is encouraging all Barça fans to express their sympathy for the greatest footballer in the world by voicing their unconditional support on social networks.
By making it clear that #WeAreAllMessi, we want Leo to know that he is not alone. All members, supporters clubs, fans, athletes, media and everyone else are invited to participate.

That is surely the most embarrassing thing a football club has done in living memory. Any other contenders?

I just came here to post that - absolutely ridiculous. I saw the headline on Reddit and assumed it was a parody.

So Barca have signed Umtiti and Digne in the last couple of days. For the former, it's a great move. He was always going to be a superb CB and he'll learn loads next to Pique and Mascherano (aside from tax evasion). For Digne, it's a bad one. He'll barely play given that he's not good enough to compete with Jordi Alba (he's not good enough to compete with Maxwell!) and should have signed for a club where he'd be a starter. I get that Roma couldn't have paid PSG wages but a pay-cut probably would have been better for everyone.

There's no need for me to add anything when you got it so absolutely perfect, MM.
