So, as the window draws a close, how does your squad look - and what would you strongest starting XI look like;

GK: Colin Doyle
GK: Rouven Satilmaier
GK: Joe Cracknell (on loan at BPA)

DF: Matt Killgallon
DF: Rory McArdle
DF: James Meredith
DF: Nat Knight-Percival
DF: Tony McMahon
DF: Stephen Darby
DF: Nathan Clarke
DF: James King (Youth)

MF: Josh Cullen
MF: Romain Vincelot
MF: Nicky Law
MF: Mark Marshall
MF: Timotheè Dieng
MF: Filipe Morais
MF: Danny Devine

ST: Jordi Hiwula
ST: Billy Clarke
ST: Haris Vučkić
ST: Marc McNulty
ST: James Hanson
ST: Vincent Rabiega
ST: Reece Webb-Forster

Strongest starting XI;

Doyle

Darby Killgallon NKP Meredith

Dieng Vincelot

Marshall Clarke Law

Vučkič/Hiwula/Hanson

Reasonably happy with the squad. I think we've recruited well given the vast overhaul in the summer.

We've made a decent start with some key players missing for the opening 5 games - hopefully we can kick on now.

Shit. Yeah, stick him in there somewhere - the squad seems a little on the large side now in truth - which I guess can be expected given the FA window changes.

Doyle

Darby Killgallon KNP Meredith

Dieng/Vincelot

Marshall Cullen Law

Hiwula - Vućkič

There's enough goals I think in the team should everyone stay fit (A big if though) Still dont think that defence is too great though. Hopefully have enough for a 14th - 18th finish.

Not a bad squad. Midfield is loaded with talent. Ideally would have had another centre half (doubts remain over Branco and Sendles-White) and a poacher in the Ajose mould (not cheap).

Still think my prediction of 9th is a realistic one, if we can our strongest team out on a regular basis we could be outsiders for a play off spot.

Shocking window for us we need to go 5-3-2 with the players we have
That line up would be when everyone fully fit.

-----------------------------Oxley--------------------------
------------Thompson Inniss Ferdinand-----------
Demetriou---------------------------------------Coker
----------Leonard Atkinson Wordsworth-------
-----------------------Ranger Cox-----------------------

That side isn't bad but will they all keep fit, squad is too thin for me. If we can keep our noses out the relegation zone till Jan I think we will be able to get in some reinforcements and survive if we are down the bottom I can't see us getting out.

I like that Swindon side, looks like a team with plenty of talent.

GK Jordan Archer
GK Tom King
DF Byron Webster
DF Shaun Cummings
DF Joe Martin
DF Shaun Hutchinson

DF Tony Craig (captain)
DF Mahlon Romeo
DF Sid Nelson
DF Noah Chesmain
DF Christian Mbulu
MF Shaun Williams
MF David Worrall
MF Ben Thompson

MF Fred Onyedinma
MF Gregg Wylde
MF Calum Butcher
MF Nadjim Abdou
MF Kris Twardek
MF Shane Ferguson
FW Steve Morison (vice captain)

FW Aiden O'Brien
FW Jamie Philpot
FW Lee Gregory

Bold the most likely strongest XI once everyone is fit and available. Decent spine of a team there, arguably the best goalkeeper and front pairing in the division I'd say (albeit I'll admit to some bias). The rest of the team is hard working, competitive and physically capable. We really ought to be play-offs at a minimum and if we can turn a decent start into a good one over the next month then I'd expect us to challenge for autos.

That Oldham side would concern me if I was a fan. Defensively looks a bit suspect and not many goals in it.

To be fair, defence isn't really the problem with us.

We've kept 3 clean sheets out of 5 games in the league and not conceded in open play. Of course we got mullered at your place, but I think that was always gonna be a tough ask for us with it being the very first game, against one of the favourites, with a team that had only been put together and trained for the best part of a fortnight. Since then we have looked very good at the back. Clarke has probably been MOTM in most games, and when Burgess is partnered with him he looks a good player too. Full backs there are no problems, especially now we have signed Dummigan from Burnley.

The goals issue you have a point on though. We simply haven't been scoring, despite creating chances. However, McKay grabbed his first goal midweek in the tinpot cup, and the young lad Osei scored two, with new loanee Freddie Ladapo from Palace looking very impressive. Had we played our first string defence and midfield, we'd have won that game comfortably.

I'm a lot more optimistic than I was after our game at your place, and if we can take 6pts from these upcoming home games against Shrewsbury & Chesterfield, we should be sitting in the top 6 and all will be rosey. Of course, if we lose them both then i'll be more worried.

Yeah, I had sort of discounted your game vs ourselves as you were a bit of a scratch side that day. Could be that confidence will play a big part if you have a couple of young lads in there, so getting off to a good start is probably paramount. Nothing against Oldham by the way, proper old fashioned football club.

Yeah, Hurrikeen's summed it up nicely there.

I'll add that Robbo and our chief scout Lee Turnbull have been very shrewd in their squad building; there's a good mix of ages, and lots of the lads seem to have a great attitude. Some good scouting has found us younger players like Burgess, Fane, and Osei who would seem to have bright futures. Having two natural leaders who've been there and done it in a higher division, in Peter Clarke and Paul Green, looks to be extremely beneficial. Look at us suddenly conceding 5 on Tuesday without them!

Also, it looks like the lad Connor Ripley in goal has to be in the mix for top keeper in the division, albeit only having had him a month so far.

Getting goals, yes it could be a struggle. But I'm hoping with more pace (Ladapo, McLaughlin, Jahraldo-Martin) ready to come in to the side, we'll only get better.

Cautiously optimistic.

Our team next week vs MK Dons could be the first time we manage to name an unchanged side. I have highlighted the players in our squad that could earn us money in the transfer market. It is a long while since we had a decent scouting system and recruitment policy that has generated so many prospects for generating income from player sales.

Eastwood - Free from Blackburn - 27yo GK limited experience as Blackburns back up.

RB - Skarz - 27 year old Left Back with over 200 appearances for teams in and around League 1

CB - Raglan - 23 year old Loan until Jan from Chesterfield after 46 appearances with them last season.

CB - Dunkley - 24 year old joined us from Kiddy Harriers for an undisclosed fee in 2014. 38 appearances for us last season.

RB - Edwards - Season Long Loan from Burton 30 year old Defender

LW - Johnson - Undisclosed from Motherwell, 25 year old winger was a target of ours in 2015 from Kiddy Harriers again but we signed him this season after he managed 53 appearances in the SPL last season for Motherwell.

CM - Rothwell - Undisclosed from Man U, 21 year old midfielder from Manchester United.

CM - Lundstram - 22 year old midfielder signed for us last season on a free transfer and was a key player in our promotion from League Two.

CM - Sercombe - 26 year old midfielder signed from Exeter City after turning down a contract with them. Scored 14 goals in 45 games to secure us promotion last season.

RW - Maguire - 27 year old winger who signed for us from Rotherham United this season after his loan last season contributed to our promotion

FW - Wes Thomas - 29 year old striker, Free

Other signings;

FW - Hemmings - £250,000 from Dundee. 24year old striker scored 21 goals in 37 appearances last season in the SPL.

CM - Ledson - Undisclosed from Everton. 19 year old midfielder with bags of potential having represented England U16 right through to U20's

CB - Nelson - TBC by tribunial. 23 year old CB who had 213 appearances at Plymouth prior to signing for us. Bags of experience for such a young player but currently injured.

RB - Ribeiro - Free from Exeter, 26 year old with lots of experience.

RW - Rob Hall - Free, 22 year old with 31 appearances for Bolton and 34 for MK Dons.

CB - Martin - Free from Coventry. 26 year old CB with 48 appearances for Coventry last season, Yeovil and Birmingham before that.

AM - 19 year old Daniel Crowley season long loan from Arsenal

Winger - 17 year old Tyler Roberts on loan from West Brom until January
