Sour grapes the lot of you. Finishing second to Leicester (who ultimately got a very good points total no matter what we did, and lost fewer games than Barcelona/Real Madrid this season - two of them to us) is nowhere near as bad as Chelsea, City or United, deflect all you like.

Once again, St Totteringham's day seems to piss of neutrals more than anything, perhaps they actually don't get the hilarity of it all as they claim. I do wonder if those who criticise fans for pipping their closest rivals year after year actually get what a rivalry is. I call bullshit on anybody who claims they wouldn't love it if they pipped their rivals by a single point every year, especially when they are giving it the big'un 3 weeks from the end of the season. None of this 'oh look at them celebrating like they've won the league' malarkey, we're celebrating because once again Spurs have Spursed it up, and it's fucking funny.

Quite embarrassing really, one team has reached their aim of qualifying for the Champions League, although they should have won the league. Whilst the other, should have won the title but are happy to be in the Champions League.

Only Spurs could come third in a two horse race. They were a far, far, far better team than Arsenal this year, but somehow don't end up with even bragging rights. Could see it coming a month ago.
Oh they are not the better team. Just look at the league table. It never lies.

There is absolutely no logic to Arsenal finishing above Spurs this season. That result at Newcastle is obviously crazy, but it shouldn't have even come down to that. The only explanation is voodoo. Spurs need to sacrifice some goats and get a witch doctor to sprinkle blessed water around WHL.

If Spurs' players are physically / mentally struggling after a long season, it doesn't bode well for England this summer.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Anyone who doesn't take hearty enjoyment out of the inherent schadenfreude of beating your rivals, especially in as hilarious a manner as that, should probably start watching curling or something.

I'm sure that Sunderland fan's celebrations are that little bit more enjoyable that it was Newcastle they narrowly beat to safety.

I'm happily taking the piss out of United fans, and I'm sure they would be doing the same had they not fucked it against West Ham.

Fill your boots.

Spurs either bottled it or didn't give a fuck once it became clear they wouldn't win the title. I'm not sure what's worse given that they knew how important the bragging rights over Arsenal were to the fans for the first time in 21 years. To pick up 2 points from a possible 12 in the final 4 games and miss out on finishing above Arsenal by a single point is pathetic, the lot of them should be ashamed of themselves.

People perceive that Spurs are better than Arsenal as their expectations for both sides are different. Arsenal are better than Spurs. Look at the league table. Media have been praising Spurs whilst being very critical of Arsenal. It's no wonder people think like that.

Newcastle did the double over Spurs.

I was going to say something similar but couldn't be arsed. The relative expectations of the two teams give vastly different perspectives.

Hopefully Spurs take this into next season, they were becoming insufferable...

I do think Tottenham will struggle a bit next season. CL + raised expectations + new-found DOUBT will see them having difficulty to regain the intensity and conviction that fired them to 2nd. I mean 3rd. We came 2nd, above them. Anyway, the point stands, I don't think they'll challenge for the title again and Poch will leave some time in 2017.

Although if Poch does it right than Spurs can really develop into a side regularly challenging for the title.

If I were a manager of a top side I'd just play the kids in FA Cup and League Cup games and get rid of that fixture burden as soon as possible.

Just remembered this, I have zero preference either way but thought it was pretty hilarious, Spurs fans must've been pulling their hair out :lol:

You can say Spurs bottled this, Arsenal fluked that blah blah blah...Arsenal finished with more points the Tottenham over a 38 game season and therefore rightfully finished above them.

Interesting to note that Spurs were never that far ahead of Arsenal during the season though..
