I used to live in Nottingham and have never really been a fan of the City Ground, the match-day experience, its location and the ground itself. All the decent bars and restaurants by Maid Marian Way and the Lace Market face the opposite way from the station.

Plenty going on in Bridgford. And if you get to town early enough it's only a 20-30 minute walk to the ground anyway.

Deepdale is probably my favourite, although I haven't done many championship grounds

Yeah, West Bridgford is nice but it's a bit further on that probably most away supporters won't know it's there if they're content with a Hooters or a Wetherspoons. Logistics aside, if the CG had been built on Market Square it would be the perfect location.

QPR, Fulham and Brentford by a country mile for me.

Ashton Gate (old) was a belter, the new one doesn't have the same feeling to it.

Always enjoyed a trip to Elland Road as well.

Charlton is a lot nicer than I was expecting
It's a nice ground actually, the away end looks ridiculous though, in comparison with the other three stands!

Decent away end though, very low roof so could make a good noise with a big following. Unfortunately there's only about 50 of us singing

The Royal Oak is closed.
The Griffin was ok on Saturday but £8.80 for two pints........God I couldn't live in London.

Oh and it is nice to stand on a terrace for a change........ but the view is really poor.
Looking forward to visiting the new ground.

£4:40 a pint is about as cheap as you'll find in London now.

The day of the £5 pint arrived about two years ago.

Still plenty of pubs in london below £4 but yes most in any main areas are £4.50 at least these days. Saying that i bought 3 pints of peroni in sheff town centre on saturday they were £4.70

5.20 mate, I wept....openly

I was in the spoons before the game, and it was £2.65. They are grim places, but who cares when you save so much compared to that? In London prices are stupid for a beer. I love a pub, but when you are going to football and you already pay for tickets, getting there, food etc, you need to save a bit where you can.

Was surprised at Brentford that the pub with the Irish security guy had San Miguel at £4.20 a pint. It's about £4 in most places in the country so was delighted.

Drank at plenty of places in London. Outside of the trendier places, plenty of pubs are less than £4 a pint. Personally I'd prefer to pay a quid or two extra for a decent pint, it's just annoying when central places only have the likes of Fosters and Carling on and try and charge £6.

I live in Hampton, so classed as Greater London, where its 45 minutes on the train to get to Waterloo. It is £4.60 for a Fosters in my local pub, it should be illegal. I go into London to save money.

I knew I shouldn't have come in here, what has happened to football fans?

fucking tinpot plastic bowls over Hillsborough, City Ground, Elland Road etc

fuck off! Ipro and Amex ffs
I think you're just jealous that Elland Road is not annexed to a retail park with Homebase and Frankie & Benny's. Ramshackle grounds like Hillsborough and Griffin Park are unsightly, decrepit and infested with rats. It's all about the Amex and Stadium:MK now.

Just a bit harsh on the Wednesday/Brentford fans there?

Nothing will outdo Leicester for tinpotishness, I saw fully grown men with foam hands on and faces painted. Once inside the stadium they were Posnan-ing, follow follow singing, drumming, then plastic clapper tube things.

I was overloaded with cringe.

Even though i fucking hate going to the place hillsborough is the best ground in that league followed by forest and leeds. I might be bias but id rank bramall lane in the top 2 outside the premiership along with hillsborough too.

I like Bramall Lane for its low roofs and odd stands but it's not a patch on Hillsborough imo.

Both grounds just make you feel like you're at a football game before it's even kicked off, unlike the dull, potty-shaped grounds popping up all over the country.

Having been to a full Elland Road in the play-offs, i'd say that's the best ground outside the Prem, actually felt a bit overawed by it when the teams were coming out.

That's my annual Yorkshire compliment quota filled for 2015 in one post.

You're joking, right? Ground smells of piss and has more steel poles that a Gdansk blast furnace.

Must just be the away end. Pretty good over where my season ticket is
