Well this thread has certainly lost interest. Shame on you Dessy & Stagat for letting it die!
Group A saw the historic qualification of Equatorial Guinea as they beat Gabon 2-0. A shame that there first goal came from a joke penalty. Second goal was as clean as they come though. In the other group game, Congo beat Burkina Faso 2-1 and finish top.
Yesterday, the final Group B games were played in what was another boring set of results. DR Congo drew with Tunisia 1-1 while Cape Verde could only manage a goalless draw against Zambia. That means that DR Congo qualify ahead of Cape Verde on goals scored. Really scrapping the barrel here.
So the whole country will be supporting EG as they play Tunisia in the quarter-finals but the good fun is the other QF which sees Congo play... DR Congo. Some kind of Congo derby if you will. How cool is that?
