Good game chaps. You pressed hard enough to deserve the goal in the end.

What was up with Rose when he stopped towards the end, was he having a strop, did he pick up a knock or was he just knackered?

He looked knackered, we didn't play to his strengths at all tonight, his heart must have sank when that thing came on for hemmings - what purpose does spencer serve as a footballer? Fuck the lad off for christs sake.

I'd have said our long balls were bad had it not been for Lincolns hideous hoofing for the entire game, I find it slightly odd that both teams employed such tactics, Lincoln looked decent on the ball but far too frequently chose the ugly hoof option which like us, was highly wasteful.

I felt sorry for Waterfall with his red, obvious though it was, they'd just scored a last minute goal, someone from the crowd threw a bottle that just missed him and he launched it back, probably a fair human reaction in the heat of the moment. Stupid and I'm sure he realised a minute later, but I've sympathy for him. Bennings 2nd yellow was certainly, but the first was soft at best.

It was a poor showing from Mansfield, and Lincoln looked like they were right up for it, especially with the cowley sisters embarrassing themselves throughout the game, to play that badly and get a point, and take 4 from the 2 games - not the end of the world.

As for Lincoln, decent forward or 2, and next season you could be a good, good shout for the top 3.

Bostwick on 9 yellows with 2 games to get through before the yellow card amnesty.

I don't think we will make the play offs but I'd expect us to be right up there next season.

Spencer did well to hold it up, he should of been on earlier, I would of kept Anderson on and chucked Angol in for Rose who had a abysmal game.

Spencer was the perfect player for tonight’s ‘football’ game.

Welcome to the Flitcroft experience!

Flitcroft's starting lineup was encouraging but I think we'd have seen this game out and possibly got a second if Evans was still in charge. Other than Byrom I thought the substitutions and tactics later in the game were poor. When Hemmings went off and it became Rose and Spencer up top we significantly reduced our chance of getting another.

The decision to bring spencer on was shambolic, I don't expect him to do that again. The lads poor, at the very best and offers absolutely nothing.

Also, when we actually passed it, Lincoln were chasing shadows and couldn't deal with it, but far, far too often we played the long ball and it simply didn't work, we were hoping someone would pick up on it pretty sharpish but no-one did.

I assume Lincoln ususlly play much better than that also, certainly a night of under performing

Cowley style of play will only get him so far, way to one dimensional.

They are very dangerous at set-pieces, they don’t have much quality but they are good at stopping the opposition from showing any too, dominated midfield last night.

We have signed a few lads who are meant to be able to knock it around like Pett and Frecklington but they're struggling to fit in the squad at the mo. We have did have Billy Knott but we couldn't find a way of fitting him in either. Only problem when you set the team up to play around Rhead. We did play 433 to start with last night but then went to our more usual 442, I like it when we get wide using the fullbacks and wingers.

Our default position after a wobble is to go back to basics and play a very simplistic, direct game as we did last night. The only surprise was that we did that in a 4-3-3 and not a 4-4-2. Can't imagine the former helped Green having to play wide in a 3.

Cowley's said himself that we need to evolve from the current playing style but we tried around September, wobbled, then recovered when we went back to basics. His transfer business in January suggested another try at changing it, we've wobbled and we've gone back to basics again (although some will argue that we've tried to put 'footballers' in a direct side rather than trying to change the style to the extent of earlier in the season).

The above said, it's difficult to implement a new playing style mid-season anyway so I'd rather do what we know best and suits us at the minute. If we fall short doing that, then so be it. I'd rather that happened than changing something mid-season that doesn't suit the squad.

Mind you, Swindon, Wycombe and Notts (and Mansfield, but I'm only basing that on the game at our place) are in and around the top 7 so it works quite well in some instances.

That's 2 wins in 10 for us now, I think. It doesn't feel like that, just too many draws.

One of my main irks for playing the long ball last night was that your 433 left you very narrow, and had we passed it about (like we did for the first 15 of the 2nd half) we had success down the right, on another day it could have beem the left also but Hamilton had an absolute mare of game, he should have been hauled off.

As conker said, it'll be interesting to see how the cowleys get on, they've many comparisons with paul Cox when we were promoted (not taking into account the players!). His long ball worked, but he had no plan B, which ultimately caught up with
him when he was found out, whether they can adapt will be interesting

We were absolutely terrible throughout IMO. Didn't create any chances, apart from the goal (which was well worked). Got dominated in Midfield and completely let Lincoln boss the game. I'm actually thinking we didn't even deserve a point.

In reality the starting midfield was shocking, King is a young raw talent, he played alongside Macca in the central position who is more of a winger. Anderson doesn’t tend to offer much on the wing offensively and CJ just had a shocker.

I think that’s the main reason we played poorly.

Looking back at the highlights, great worked goal for Mansfield to be fair. Not sure I agree with our red now mind.

By packing the middle with Bostwick Woodyard and Frecklington, Cowley obviously wanted to stifle Mansfield and stay in the game. When we brought our two most dangerous players on in Rowe and Anderson we looked a much bigger threat and they stretched Mansfield and won a lot of free kicks in dangerous areas and led to the equaliser.

Decent game plan from Cowley I'd say after we got thumped at home to crewe. Was a really good game I thought end to end point a fair result.

To be honest if that’s two promotion chasing teams it shows the league does lack some quality.

I think for the first 20 mins we looked up for it and the new formation seemed to be working and to me it felt like it would be a matter of time before we scored.

A side note, I have no clue what a red card is anymore. King flies in 2 footed, out of control deemed a yellow and Bennett with a fairly innocuous challenge gets a 2 yellow.

For me it was incredibly scrappy until halftime. Mansfield took their goal very well and showed why they are where they are as that was really their only good chance.

After that we became far too narrow with players getting in each other’s way. I was so thrilled to see frecklington sign but so far he just hasn’t been there and that included last night where he was pretty irrelevant and at this point I would give whitehouse a go.

I didn’t think the ball would fall our way to equalise but things have changed with Lincoln and they fight till the end. And all in all I think a deserved draw and maybe we should have had all 3 points but I’d have taken it beforehand.

Someone needs to tell Rhead to stay on his bloody feet as when he does actually get fouled it’s the boy who cries wolf scenario.

All in all a good night out and a point that will serve us well going forward

What do we think is going to be the punishment for Waterfall? The standard 3 game ban or will the FA look to extend it?
What he did was stupid and caught up in the heat of the moment. Will there be any punishment for the Stags fan who threw it at the players?

I hope he doesn't get anything extra.

What he did was stupid and idiotic, but there's a last minute goal, there's the excitement of celebrating with team mates. Then a bottles launched at you from the crowd and he just reacted.

From his time at Mansfield he was a decent lad and I'm sure he'll have quickly apologised to all concerned.

If there is footage the fan will be banned, Waterfall reaction after the red card if anything is going to bite him.

No need to be a silly twat, refusing to go down the tunnel. It's happened.
