Our squad is very weak at the moment. We've signed one player, lost Luongo, Foderingham, Gladwin plus last season's loanees and could still see Kasim, Smith and Byrne depart. This is the squad as it stands:

Still at least two central defenders, two central midfielders and a goalkeeper away from being any where near ready for the new season, let alone having to potentially replace Kasim, Smith and Byrne too.

No idea what Harris has in mind for next season but this is the side I'd pick with the players available:

Subs: Jordan Archer, Lee Martin, Fred Onyedinma, John Marquis, Jack Powell, Jamie Philpot, Thompson

Midfield and attack look pretty strong, but depth is almost non-existent if you discount the youth. Still worried about the back four. Think Harris has the youth in mind, though. Can see Fred replacing PCH, Powell for Williams and Philpot, Ben Thompson and Marquis used to freshen things up.

We need at minimum a LB and CM to have a functional side. I reckon if the season started now, Cooper would slot into the front 3 with Haber and LDV(ignoring Haber's absence of course). Without an experienced CB, I wouldn't be comfortable operating a 3/5 man defence.

For us to have any chance of having even a reasonable season, we need a LB, 2 CMs, a CB and either Colclough or an extra forward. If we get the targets we are linked to(without knowing much about Hanley), then I'd feel optimistic. As it is, that side will struggle to stay in the division. Midfield is so so crucial, Jones and Atkinson will get mauled by Occy, Grant and Brown on the opening day.

If Inniss signs as seems to be the expectation on a season long loan then midfield and defence look ok. Strike force needs building and interviews (didn't know clubs interview players) this week. Get the strikers right we should be decent enough not to get drawn into a relegation scrap at least.

How many of the players do you actually know though? Not even being ignorant just I don't know the majority of the players listed in this topic and I'd say I'm a big football fan . Either you have an outstanding knowledge of the lower leagues or you're just guessing.

I like Norris - he's got good touch and an excellent football brain. Give the guy a bit of confidence and he'll be sorted.

Our bench (based on the second team I listed) would be Nelson, Davies, McGlashan, Hessenthaler, Dickenson, Williamson and Donnelly. We're a little light defensively IMO, but we have a decent 18 there.

I don't think your back 5 looks particularly watertight, and I've never really rated Tudgay up top. I don't know too much about Maddison, but unless he's a 20 goals a season forward then I think you may concede a fair few and struggle to score. I could be very wrong though.

No Maddison is a young kid who's extremely talented and unless we go up this season he won't be with us next year. We have an experienced manager in Mowbray who will have good contacts to players and agents who are probably a level above this division but could be persuaded. I suspect there will be around 6-8 new signings/loans in during the summer.

I know seven of that starting eleven. The back four is far too inexperienced and young. No older heads present. Huge gamble. Don't rate half of that midfield, especially Thomas, who from what I've gathered from opinions of Coventry fans, is awful. Tudgay isn't prolific and Maddison has undoubted potential, but it's not a certainty he will fulfil that. If he does, he'd probably be off in January if he has a blistering start. As you've stated since this post, you expect 6-8 signings. So the side does need vast improvement then, if you're expecting half the team to be replaced before the season starts?

I don't know everything as nor do you. But I gaurentee I have a baseline knowledge as to what is going on and why fans are unhappy.
