It's coming together, but it isn't the strongest. I stil believe our defence is suspect - even more so now Andrew Davies has left.

We must still have a fair bit of cash left to spend, as Davies, McLean and Mark Yeates were all on big money. I believe we may be paying Stephen Davies a bit, but I can't imagine Josh Morris and Tony McMahon costing all that much.

At least another 5 to come in though!

Can't see how defence is suspect. Meredith and McArdle were our two best players last year, Darby is definition of steady, Liddle is great in front of them. A Davies was a big loss but there will be teams in worse positions.

Players like Knott and Morais blow hot and cold in midfield, don't want to slag Knott off too much as he's young. Hanson is useful but one-dimensional and S Davies could either be great or shite. Clarke is good and overall it's an alright enough attacking set up but we could do with improving it to challenge.

Our problem last year wasn't the starting 11 anyway, it was the complete lack of depth. McMahon was a decent signing yesterday simply for the fact he plays about 4 positions to an acceptable standard.

Nathan Cameron is probably the worst defender I've ever seen, and being a Crewe fan I've seen some atrocious ones.
Season before last was that bad ended up training with the kids, last season first name on team sheet. If we had to loose 1 of Mayor or Natcam it's by by Danny.

Subs:
Christophe Routis
Alan Sheehan
James Hanson
Luke James

Obviously, Gary Liddle won't start at CB - as we are still looking for a replacement for Andrew Davies. I think we're also looking for another attacking midfielder to rival Billy Knott.

Seem to be shaping up okay, and still another 3-4 to come in.

Tony McMahon in the starting line-up?

Well, he's very much a defensive midfielder if you're playing him in that part of the field. He's naturally a RB, but Stephen Darby owns this position. Given Gary Liddle was ever consistent in the centre of the park last season, I was merely tweaking with the midfield to see what sort of reaction if get from fellow City fans on here, as I wouldn't like to see the Billy Knott-Gary Liddle CM duo to remain. It was okay, but never really gave us much attacking threat in truth.

I believe we'll sign another CM, one of which will partner Gary Liddle, leaving Tony McMahon to be a utility player - which is essentially what he's always been. This leaves question marks over Billy Knott and where we can play him, as I'd personally like to see him in the number 10 role more often, but with Billy Clarke in the starting 11, he may find himself on the bench more often than not.

PP's formation is going to be the biggest question mark, IMO - because how can you have Hanson, Davies, James and Clarke fighting for two places? They all add something different, granted - but as per previous posts, I can't see Stephen Davies not starting of he's fit, and given the fact that the sun shines out of James Hanson's arse, he'll most probably start too. A Davies and Hanson partnership doesn't leave me with great confidence, given their both big lads. Also, what are the terms of Luke James' loan - surely Posh will want him to start if he's fit, and Billy Clarke is an absolute starter given his 14 goals last season...most of which were from CAM position.

Defence is pretty much sorted now I think. Mowbray is probably going to play Ricketts at centre back but Willis is pretty horrendous at right back and Aaron Phillips is inexperiences so I hope he changes his mind. Fleck and Vincelot is a pretty solid midfield two but we're severely lacking in terms of attacking options. Only 2 players into recruitment though and Mowbray's been focusing on the defence up until now so not too bothered.

Already a top 2 team. Few more signings and we'll piss league by about 20 points.

That will be our formation and line-up come the first game of the season. Possibly a new RB with Mowbray being after McMahon earlier on in the window.

No side with Danny fucking Swanson in is winning anything.

Tudgay has always been dreadful against us, for Sheff Wed's in the Cup when we were a league two side he was dogshit and last season for Coventry against us he was dreadful. Is he usually decent?

I always had you down as a bit disfunctional Joe but Lee Burge as our forward and James Maddison CB. Don't think that will work too well mate.

He was relatively poor under Pressley for a few games and then just didn't get a look in. After Mowbray came in, he looked a different player. I wouldn't want him to be our starting striker but as a squad player he's good to have.

One of the best strikers in the league. Will score at least 15 this year if he's unlucky.

Mowbray looked very good towards the end of the season and was key for us at Crawley. I don't fancy him to get 20+ however.

If we get Dominic Samuel back, I'd be excited.

BTW Bradford fans.

Davies is a good signing if you create chances. McMahon is horseshit. Has no left foot. Can't take free kicks or corners yet insists on doing it. Will shout at away fans during games for no apparent reason. Will argue with the referee when he's just two footed someone knee caps. Will give away a penalty every few games. And will get sent off when you are two up for utterly no reason.

Poor excuse for a footballer. He shouldn't be in this league. Not good enough for league football.

But apart from that, he's a good player?
