Seriously we are virtually on the brink of disappearing out of existence and no 1 seems to give a fuck ,let's hope no of you are next
I think any genuine fan does care. You certainly haven't done a Reading and caused the postponement of vital games.

I'm not sure of your situation, is it down to the owner not being able to afford? Or is he one of those who just doesn't give a shit and is holding the club to ransom?

It does feel that you've been playing at a level that is massively above your station given the size of your club but if your owner can't afford to fund at this level then he should pass it on to someone who can.

Most real football fans will give a fuck. What are your fans doing to drum up awareness?

And a fair few of us have been in that place already.

Would you be happy for that to be your starting eleven? I'm not trying to have a dig, but you didn't exactly set the world alight last season, so as a fan I'd be looking for a few positions to be changed in order to vastly improve. I would feel a little uneasy in playing virtually the same team that weren't successful last year.
No, in a word. We need a keeper, probably two defenders and a centre midfielder if only as cover.
Going forwards last season we were good enough for the playoffs but defensively we were nowhere near good enough.
The jury is out on the head coach Maynard too, he needs a good start.

Our current owner used to have Worcester warriors rugby club and they put them into administration, he says he is trying to sell the club but is holding out for a ridiculous price in the mean time he is not engaging with the fans and we have basically been kept in the dark for the last year and a half.
We have fought hard to stay in the league every season ,even the season we finished 1 point off automatic promotion and then went upto league1 through the play offs we were favourites for relegation.I don't think we are playing above our station we have been in the league for a good time now its just that we need an owner with drive and ambition who wants to take our club forward ,not 1 who wants a get rich quick ticket. At the end of the day I just want to know that I will have a team to follow next season, even if we have to go into administration to get rid of the owner then let it happen .

Not completely - we obviously need a new goalkeeper and probably another new central defender to come into it, but it won't be far off. We're realistically only going to change any of the starters in front of the back three if someone gets sold, they individually all had good seasons and we scored more than enough goals.

Even though ten of that eleven were with us last season, it's never been close to being a team we could put out. Jatta was signed from abroad at the end of January and it took a couple of months for him to get a visa then settle in, so he only started a handful of games at the back end of the season. Palmer got a season-ending injury in October and Robertson signed in January, so what we'd universally see as our strongest midfield pairing hasn't played together yet.

Armani Little added, so cross off the midfielder. Nolan apparently almost done from Accrington, plus allegedly looking at Dan Kemp. Just a forward to go after that and we're pretty much done.
Nolan completed. Winger and a forward required now.

First XI could look like this now:

Turner
Hutton - Masterson - Ogie - Clark
Nolan - Coleman - Little - Williams
Andrews - Nevitt

Subs from - Morris, Holtam (Youth), McKenzie, Ehmer, Malone (listed), Dieng, Lapslie (listed), Clarke, Nadesan (Listed), Hawkins (Listed), Gbode (Youth), Giles (Youth), Gale (Youth), Jefferies (Contract Offered)
Seems a solid enough side, which is a decent place to be in early June.

Not easy to separate our players into these buckets given so many of them can play all over the park, especially wingback/CAM/up front. In terms of our biggest priority, we are short all over the pitch (10 of the players listed are recent academy graduates) but particularly in midfield/attacking roles given we have lost the likes of Bate, Payne, Lofthouse, Tezgel when their loans finished and I guess you can throw in Kemp too who we released because it didn’t work out.

Current starting XI (3-4-2-1):

MacGillivray
Offord - Tucker - Harvie
Norman - Williams - Gilbey - Tomlinson
Wearne - Lemonheigh-Evans
Dean

I guess Maguire now in for Tucker or Harvie?

The positive from last season's squad was that everyone Adkins wanted to keep has stayed, but another 8 to come in, more if one or two go Hawkes and Dennis being most likely to leave.

The current squad seems more suited to a 433, but Nigel likes 442. Unsure if he'll go for wide-men or stick with a narrower formation, so have gone for a hybrid midfield for now. A long way to go...

Laurence Maguire and Tommy Leigh to add in here somewhere. Would assume both would make the starting line up but no idea!

We need a hell of a lot of work. Some of them have been told they can find new clubs and ideally I’d like 6-8 of the above offloaded as well as signing 10+ new players.

Simpson’s best 11 as things stand.

Lewis
Ellis Hayden Lavelle Mellish Armer
Guy McGeouch Vela
Kelly Armstrong

Garbage. Bottom 6 standard until we make changes.

Updated after a few signings and a departure.

We’ve strengthened the defence a bit with signing Thomas and Harper. Still doesn’t look anything special but should be stronger than last season. Midfield and front line still no where near strong enough if we want to trouble the mid table spots. And we still need a good 5 or 6 more departures at least.

Not happy at all with the squad as it is, but still plenty of time to hopefully get in some much needed quality.

Okay so currently squad wise we’re looking like this:

GK:
- Ryan Boot

Defenders:
- Ryheem Sheckleford
- Ash Palmer
- Tyrone Williams
- Jamie Grimes
- Brandon Horton

Midfielders:
- Tom Naylor
- DJ Oldaker
- Mike Jones
- Ollie Banks
- Tim Akinola (New signing)

Wingers/Attacking Midfielders:
- Ryan Colclough
- Armando Dobra
- Liam Mandeville
- Michael Jacobs
- James Berry
- Bailey Hobson

Forwards:
- Will Grigg
- Paddy Madden (New signing)
- Joe Quigley
- Kane Drummond (New signing)

Of the above, it’s rumoured a few have been told they can leave if a club comes in for them, whether that’s loan or permanent (Few names I’ve heard are Ash Palmer & DJ Oldaker, but I’d also fully expect Hobson to go out on loan again too personally).

As you can see, numbers are far healthier in the attacking positions / midfield currently, and I’d be very surprised to see many more come in in those positions, possibly 1 maybe 2 more maximum. Defensively & GK is where we’re going to see the majority of our incomings no doubt.

Rumoured names were looking at currently:
- Sam Clucas (Midfielder just released by Rotherham and played for us under Cook the first time round, apparently very close…)
- Kyle Mcfadzean (Experienced CB offered new deal at Blackburn but rumour is he wants to move closer to home and very good friends with Naylor.)
- Chey Dunkley (CB offered new deal at Shrewsbury, but once again, one that Cook has worked with previously)
- Tendayi Darikwa (RB who’s just left Apollon Limassol in Cyprus, but has been at Wigan, Burnley & Nottm Forest since he came through the academy here & was turned into a RB by Cook.)

They’re just the names I’ve heard, but we will definitely be in for a keeper as currently we only have Ryan Boot (who is more than good enough to be our starting keeper tbh, but needs competition). Wouldn’t be surprised to see Harry Tyrer come back in on loan from Everton.

Picking a starting XI is virtually impossible at any point of a season under Cook as he loves to rotate & use all his squad, so even harder to do that currently considering there’s still likely to be quite a bit of business done. I’ll give it a go though on what I’d pick currently with what’s in the building so far:

Boot
Mandeville Palmer Grimes Horton
Naylor Oldaker
Dobra Madden Colclough
Grigg
Update to ours:
No departures as of yet, and I’d surprised if that changed until at least a few weeks in to pre season.

Couple of incomings since though bolstering the defence which was definitely needed, in 23 year old LB Lewis Gordon from Bristol Rovers, & 32 year old CB Chey Dunkley from Shrewsbury.

In terms of squad depth within Cooks preferred 4-2-3-1 that leaves us looking like this:

GK:
Ryan Boot

RB:
Ryheem Sheckleford

CB:
Chey Dunkley (New signing)
Jamie Grimes
Ash Palmer
Ty Williams

LB:
Lewis Gordon (New signing)
Brandon Horton

CM:
Tom Naylor
Darren Oldaker
Ollie Banks
Tim Akinola (New signing)
Mike Jones

Wingers/CAM:
Armando Dobra
Ryan Colclough
Liam Mandeville
Michael Jacobs
James Berry
Bailey Hobson

ST:
Will Grigg
Paddy Madden (New signing)
Joe Quigley
Kane Drummond (New signing)

Priorities from the list would be another keeper and another RB. Doubt there will be too much else happen unless people were too leave as we’re looking pretty healthy elsewhere, but we shall see.

Goalkeepers:
Sam Slocombe
Tiernan Brooks
Aidan Stone (transfer listed)

Centre backs:
Lewis Macari
Matty Platt
Kyle Cameron
Connell Rawlinson (transfer listed)
Geraldo Bajrami

Wing backs:
Aaron Nemane
Jodi Jones
Adam Chicksen
Will Randall (transfer listed)

Midfielders:
Matty Palmer
Scott Robertson
Dan Crowley

Forwards:
Macaulay Langstaff
Alassana Jatta
Cedwyn Scott
David McGoldrick

Our team now would be:

Slocombe
Macari - Platt - Cameron
Nemane - Palmer - Robertson - Jones
Crowley
Jatta - Langstaff

To be honest, with the exception of the goalkeeping mess, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see that start the season as our strongest XI. I think we'll probably bring in another centre back to play on the right of the back three, though, and use Macari as an option there and more defensively at right wing back.

Bass in for Slocombe, Bedeau in for Cameron. Still like another centre back in for the right, but we look pretty sound starting wise now, just bulking out the squad.

Yes, we've now got a starting eleven now. I'd definitely like another centre midfielder as Matty Palmer may not be the player he was and even if he is its a long season and we need to rotate.
Think we'll try to get at least another four in .

I’d still expect us to sign a couple of centre backs, particularly if Cameron moves on, two central midfielders, and some competition for Nemane at right wing back. And it’s us, so we’ll find a way to sneak in some former wonderkid number ten who’s lost his way.

Suppose it depends a bit on whether we can shift the transfer listed lads easily.

Still need a lot of help in defence and we also need a keeper - the Joe Day rumour seems to have abated, though the talk is of him coming in as a player/GK coach.

Tom Pett is also expected to leave soon.

Scot Bennett having a very good career as a footballer will never not puzzle me, looked like a fan we’d plucked from the stands and put in defence for us but by all accounts has been good everywhere else he’s been

We've offerred terms to a number of academy prospects too but none of them have been confirmed yet so left them off and there's another lad who is joining us for training in Deklan Wynne but not under contract so left him off too. Any in red are ones I'm hoping we can make a priority to move on. There's a couple others like Grant who I'd be happy to depart also but suspect their contracts will make it prohibitive.

My guess is Moore is going to go 4-2-3-1 as it's one of the formations he's said he favours so we'll need another CB and a LB as I'll be fucked if I'm going to watch Dan Jones try and steal a living off us for another year. There's at least some sort of spine to the team developing but it is still a fair way short of one I'd be comfortable going into next season with especialy at the back.

No real change on that front. Lots of clubs with expressions of interest from the PL and a couple of Bundesliga clubs it seems but the last that was stated by Alan Nixon (and when it comes to us he’s right more often than not) is yet to receive a concrete offer.

As much as would love us to tell them all to shove it and have him bang them in for us next season also realistic enough to know ultimately it’s law of the jungle and if one of these clubs push for it they’ll get him. Apparently we’re not entertaining anything less than £3m for him, whether we stick to that when push comes to shove we’ll see.

Tricky one isn’t it, we could keep him and he doesn’t progress or we can sell get decent money but miss out on having him with us if he does.

Good to see us being set on what we want though as generally feels we’d have been soft in the past. I’d take £1.5 mill and a decent sell on myself!

Wonder if we have any sell on with Joel Ndala?

I hope you get a big payout and a deal full of add ons for future money.

It's great for a player to be seen making national teams from a lower league academy. Shows that going to your local academy and not just the big Prem teams is a viable option. If he was at United or Liverpool etc he wouldn't have had as much experience in Men's football at 17 either.

He is lucky we mucked up so badly with the striker situation that he ended up being the better option to Loft and Uche!

It’s a credit to him though because when he broke through in his sub apps in the BSM and his early league sub apps Jan/Feb I thought he was miles off ready, in fact he probably was but he pushed on really quick and got a few goals, got the call up for England U17 and did well in the camp to get in the Euro squad scoring a few for the national team (and randomly causing an online rivalry with Vale fans and er Spain!)

Flitcroft didn’t work out the pas couple of seasons but in fairness to him what he’s done to our youth system is remarkable really, it was a right mess, got dumped out the Youth Cup by Basford under Frank Sinclair and co but got in Will Ryder and Matty Done and we’ve seen that part really take off. Sold a lad to Newcastle for 200k plus, one to Villa for a record schoolboy fee and have had some break through and do well like Shorrock, Plant, Walter’s and Dipepa.

Shorrock may go for decent compo as may Walters as neither have signed their pro deal yet but hopefully Shorrock stays. Plant should really benefit from us being L2 and hopefully gets used in his proper position (done well at LWB when he’s actually a winger in L1).

Walters played like Pirlo in the cups (notably V you guys) but dropped off in the league when given the chance, felt like his head was turned amid rumours of Stoke wanting him, bad injury last game of the season though but he’s a frustrating one, got another lad playing for the Thai U20s now I think!

Plenty of promise and something needed if we want to become more competitive financially whilst also becoming more self sufficient.

Denver Hume and Callum Ainley both offered contracts.

Still a few signings short of fielding a genuine team. Couple more defensive signings should be fine but players needed, mainly in midfield but also upfront if Donovan Wilson does indeed leave - can’t imagine Pyke featuring this season either so he may well be forced out.

Team atm looks like a 3-5-2:

Wright

Mullarkey
Tharme
McJannet

Warren
Thompson
Vernam
Green
Carson

Rose
Wilson

Really hope we don’t go into the first game with Green and Wilson starting. First game is a while away but not nice going into preseason under prepared.
