So the Peterborough chairman is trying to claim Evans didn’t call him until after he resigned at 5 o clock yesterday. Him and Raynor did well to get to their game for 7.45. Classless bunch of twats, the whole lot of them.

Large number of our fans would drive him up to Mansfield themselves. The football has been horrendous to watch, especially at home. Tbf, it has improved slightly lately but he’s not for me. Despite knocking around the play offs all season we have dropped 1500 or so fans. If your owner is basing him on the 2 wins over you this season he’s in for a shock

Especially in the crappy weather yesterday.
Classless duo they really are, zero loyalty.

They are. It'll be interesting to see how they do if they fall on hard times and don't do so well. They'll never have a grace period when the shit hits the fan from either the chairman of the club he's at or the fans

David isn't a very good manager in truth, bizarre team selections and bad tactics. He's a good coach or an assistant but I don't think his ego would let him go back down to that level.

I'm a bit confused by this resignation thing. I mean, what exactly did Radford think they were going to do? Or what did Evans tell Radford he was going to do and didn't?

Why would Radford accept his resignation and forgo any compensation money?

Redford refused Swindon permission to talk to him pre season, but then let’s him leg it to Posh. Strange.

I’m assuming he felt the risk of making him stay at this vital point of the season could wreck the promotion chance, or something gone off that we have no idea about.

Nobody really knows for sure at the moment.

So Steve Evans says he resigned at Mansfield to take on an opportunity outside the UK. He apparently only changed his mind when he rang Barry Fry for tickets to Posh v Walsall and was asked if he'd be interested in the job.

What a bare faced liar.

Fucking brilliant! My problem with him was his hoofball May have got us promoted but there was no way he would take us any further.

Stand by for unintelligible sound bites. Microwave was my favourite.

Well that was fast, if it's really Flitcroft that is. So now it's Swindon looking for a new manager? Good god, Shaun Derry must be in heaven right now with all these clubs looking for a new man. Surely some stupid idiot is going to offer him a job pretty sharpish. The man is apparently 'well regarded in footballing circles', or at least that's what I read once.

ps - as will be Sladey, another managerial genius. And Gary fucking Brabin.

Must have been a 3 way deal for a while I reckon.

I’m not complaining.

Matt Taylor as player manager with Alan McLoughlin working alongside him does for now.

Imagine Futcher will go as well.

A very odd one, can’t see that it makes a huge amount of sense for either Flitcroft or Mansfield.

As for Stevie Evans, I don't know if I'm the only one (though I reckon I am indeed) but I always thought Raynor was easily the most detestable one out of the two stooges. I mean I do get some of Stevie's antics, well he's the boss right, but Raynor's actions are a bit OTT for an assistant me thinks.

And oh, turns out I was right -

Somebody who has got promotion out of the division before makes sense for our current predicament, and Mansfield is a attractive job these days, I suppose it is a bit odd leaving Swindon still but from Mansfield perspective it makes clear sense.

I’m very unsure about this in the long term though but reasonably happy for the short term. (Subject to change depending on final table position ;) )

All Mansfield fans can do is get behind him.

The Cowleys have (or had) a massive release clause in their deals. No current L2 Club would be able to afford it and that's before their contracts.
Don't let Luton fans hear you saying that. They'll have their net spend statistic brigade up your arse before you know it

Aye, in your position I’d have been tempted to look for someone until the end of the summer though, imagine you’ve had to offer Flitcroft a very generous deal to persuade him to move at this stage.

He also seems pretty sure of himself and will probably want to come in and make his mark on things, which I’m not entirely sure is what’s needed.

From a Notts point of view, I certainly see there now being two promotion spots wide open, rather than maybe one and a bit.

Flitcroft has proved he can’t cut it outside of L2. He was getting stick from the fans on a regular basis so he’s probably thought ‘Bollocks to it’.

There isn’t many unhappy Swindon fans, I can tell you.

I agree and that is my main concern, and it’s why I wanted Dempster to have the next two games.

He does need to keep it ticking over this season, can’t go changing it up now as our form has been fantastic for a couple of months now.

Isn’t Flitcroft a Dingle? Makes sense in terms of distance if his family are still living in South Yorkshire I suppose.

What’s the reason you lot don’t like him for? Poor style? Not satisfied with your position?

Dreadful football. Some of it has been truly shocking. Doesn’t come across as likeable. Too much nonsensical psycho babble in his interviews. Tends to bear a grudge with certain players. No future beyond L2 with him in charge

You've done well to get rid of him without doing any major damage

Very surprised at Flitcroft, but to be fair Swindon fans don't seem too peturbed at the news despite being up there. Struck me as a knob at Bury , can't say as i,ve noticed him as much at Swindon.
