We have had the most clean sheets, 11, in the whole league and Kean has kept 10 of those. Whats he done wrong? Hardly anything. Hes a very good keeper for this league.
You kept the most clean sheets in the league and only had 11? That can't be right.

I don't know how good this Charlie Adeamo is, but Charles Ademeno was dogshit.

Bad spellers of the world untie!

How can you quote my post when I can't even see it?

It's incorrect because Blackpool have had 15. I suspect Luton and Portsmouth have had more too.

An organised defence usually comes from the keeper talking to them.
If by "does not command the box" you mean you can't hear or see him screaming at players then oh dear. Ive thought he's been doing well but will trust who ever evans brings in

Kean is not commanding the defence, it's due to the fact Bennett and Pearce are fantastic.

FYI it's 11 clean sheets in 2017 which is the best in the division.

Each to their own, but on what basis do you think he's not good enough?

For me, he's a good shot stopper and commands his box relatively well. I'd be happy to have him next season.

As you say though, maybe there are better options out there

Can't see Kean taking the pay cut it would require to get him here permanently.

Well I think the criticism of Kean is unjust and he will probably find himself in League One. Conrad Logan has signed from Rochdale anyway so doesn't matter that much now.

Good to see we've moved fast.

Never entirely sure our feed is accurate all the time, but welcome aboard Conrad.

Our local rag has reported our interest in Steve Evans is 'concrete'.

Also interested in Plastic Whistle manager Alan Archibald.

It's nice that your interested, and whereas no-one would argue Swindon are a bigger club than Mansfield given where the clubs are just now, he'd be daft to even consider Swindon, especially with your chairman and sherwood.

The chairmans aspiraions (with a large amount of queasiness from our fans) are to be promoted next season, evans is central to that.

Not that I'm necessarily disagreeing with you but I'm pretty sure Sherwood won't be involved next season (although wouldn't be amazed if he was) and our aspirations are also to be promoted. Apparently Power and Evans are good mates, not that that should make any difference.

Power this morning has stated - 'FOOTBALL : @Official_STFC owner Lee Power tells @BBCWiltshire new boss will be given budget & have 100% responsibility for recruitment #stfc'.

He's got lots of 'good friends'.

"I was speaking to my good friend Paul Ince (etc etc) the other day", "The great Sir Alex Ferguson once told me, when I was sat having a coffee with him at his house...".

Loves a name drop.
Haha, here we go. He never let's you down.

"...wants to be involved in another promotion campaign after his great success under my good friend Chris Wilder."

Evans has had success with money and seems to always end up where the money is. Not sure about Mansfields current financial situation as know little about them (have shared a league once in 25 plus years) but his success generally have involved the advantage of money.

He's someone I wouldn't want near my club personally as a complete an utter dick in the game. Micky Adams putting him in his place on the radio was funny mind.

Would like to see him at a skint club to judge his skills. Let's be honest most of the great managers currently have achieved it with huge financial backing!

Good God, we've made an official approach to Mansfield to speak to Jabba. I presume from that he must be interested.

The one good thing about this, if he says no, is that Power must have a decent budget on offer otherwise there would be no point asking him

Given he has already started bringing in players for the new season at Mansfield I doubt this will go anywhere.

Hope you're right. Could just be another one of Power's tried and trusted asides to make it appear he's aiming for someone he knows full well wont come.

One worrying name on the bookies list is Gary Hill who was manager at R&D when Power was there before they went bust.

Radford has refused Swindon permission to speak to Evans.

So the dance begins. Next move is Jabba resigns - that's how these things usually go.

Not exactly thrilled by this. But at least it means we're after an experienced Football League manager.

I could probably look past the fact it's Steve Evans if he takes us back into League 1. If he ends up here obviously.

For all of his many flaws he is an excellent lower league manager, he has proved this time and time again.

It does beg the question, though, why didn't Power spend some of the money it will cost him to pay off Williams et al and compo for Evans, last season to keep us from getting relegated.

Noticed a lot of Mansfield fans referring to us a basket case club. Whilst I couldn't disagree with that up to now, the very fact Power is opening his - or others - purse strings seems to me he has had some sort of road to Damascus conversion.

Could, equally, all be smoke and mirror bollocks and we resume our demise.

It's an interesting development. It will more than likely amount to nothing since the budgets have already been agreed and two players have already signed on contracts which presumably run longer than 12 months.

But imagine what would happen if we lost Evans. Whoever came in to replace him would arrive to a slashed budget with Zander Diamond and Conrad Logan on heck knows what.

Just heard from a good source that Evans has been offered £3k per week. He wants £5k and is likely to get it.

I can tell you he's already on more than that and I know for certain so good try :2thumb:

Just saying what I've been told. Seems to me if he's mentioned how much he wants, he wants to come.
