5k a week would see him on around double what our top players would earn surely?

Can't see how Swindon can be talking to Evans if an official approach has been rejected.

By breaking the rules? Not really difficult to speak to another manager behind the chairmans back

Yep. 'Unofficial' talks between two friends, which apparently they are.

I think this is a shitstorm I'd rather avoid. Would much rather go for Jackett or even Cotterill if we're looking to bring a manager in on a decent wage.

I can tell you he's already on more than that and I know for certain so good try :2thumb:

No you don't. You're prime for talking bollocks.

My opinion is, if Evans wants to leave then let him go, but demand a fee and use it to pay the next man; who I'd hope would want to be here.

The Evans circus is already climbing all over my tits. I imagine that the bloke himself is lathered up in the publicity. He'd certainly show his class if he jumped ship after getting everything that he's asked for.

If you take notice of the bookies, he is now 1/3.

May God have mercy on our souls!

Cotterill is Redknapps assistant at Brum. Highly unlikely imo!

Tbh, given where the 2 clubs are evans is probably too good for Swindon, nice set of fans - always have been - but the club doesn't appear to be well ran.

Be good to actually hear Jabba come out and say he' staying. Could well be just the CEO posturing for their fans benefit.

Ha made me laugh.

We all knew what was coming with him when he signed and he's not disappointed us.

The odds of him being here in 3 seasons would be 1/10 at best, enjoy it (or not) as it won't last long.

I wouldn't just be mad at him for leaving if he did just now, I'd be disappointed for the radfords who've done so much for us to date. Am sure they'll be a sizeable fee demanded if someone does get him, which I imagine would be beyond swindons budget

My favourite post on the Stags forum was some knobhead saying we are trying to destabilise their promotion push - 3 months before the season starts!

Stagsnet is full of knobheads, as per most clubs message boards.

Also suggests that we see them as a direct promotion rival which is a ridiculous notion currently given the season we've just experienced and the current state of our squad.

Id like Evans to get us promoted and then when in league one rather than get carried away and spend a load more sack him after an average season and let us stabilise and then get jimmy floyd in to carry us to the championship :hesk:

As per what conker said.

Maybe you're here to destabilise us, you're the new Russians. Watch out :animatedf:

Be interesting to see what Evans can do at a club on a downward spiral seemingly and not one chucking money about left right and centre.

That's what's baffling a lot of our fans. We've just paid off Williams/Embleton/Cooper, seemingly willing to pay Mansfield compo, chuck £5k a week at the slug who would only come if a decent budget was at his disposal.

Where has all this money suddenly appeared from? Even if das Slug doesn't come, the benchmark has been set re fans' expectations.

He's a very interesting figure.

On one side, he's the most passionate manager that I've saw at Mansfield, him and Raynor are always at it on the sidelines, and he certainly feels "one of the fans" when we're at home. His passion is admirable. I'd have said the same about commitment until the last few days - a word from evans saying, nah it's not happening would have been ideal, the circus that has happened in the last week, and his strong words saying the radfords need to back him have been frustrating. Maybe it's part of some bigger plan between them all, but I don't know.

It's easy to see why you'd dislike him as an opposition manager, but that's just because he is that involved when the games on. It's one of those of where yeah he's disliked, but if you're a fan of a side in league 2, the odds are he's a better manager than the one you've got
