should Still stay or should Still go????? has he lost our vote of confidence?
are we believing our own hype and think we're better than we are?
there's plenty of games left to claw back a play-off place,in theory at least!

I'd love to know how long Richard Money would have lasted if you were having our season. Luton fans make me laugh.

Money wouldn't have survived if he had the season you had last year here, never mind this season. He was sacked for not too dissimilar stuff in his time here.

Still won't be sacked though and quite rightly too. It wasn't so very long ago that the guy was being given the freedom of the borough! Our board have learnt the hard way about pulling the trigger at the first sign of trouble, Still will be given the time he deserves (i.e. all of next season irrespective of where we finish this season).

You're still massively in with a shout of the playoffs, pretty good in your first season back.

What were you expecting, runaway champions? You've been consistent all season except this little run of defeats.

We will happily have Still if you want to get rid in Summer...then you can have Brown?

If Luton sacked Still I reckon it'd be the funniest/worst decision a League Two club has made in a while - then again I have confidence that the Luton board won't listen to the fans so I doubt it'd happen.

I think some are pissed off because we were in a great position and have thrown it away with this horrendous recent run. If the defeats had been spread out over the whole season and we'd always been on the fringes of the play-offs rather than top 3 most of the season until this spectacular stumble people's expectations would have been moderated accordingly.

I know you're on a bad run but sacking the manager who finally got you promoted and in your first season has had you challenging for automatic promotion for the majority of it.

Crazy. Yes there isn't a HUGE gap between conference and L2, but there is definitely a gap between the top 5/6 teams and the rest of the division.

You surely should give him next year to make some signings for a promotion push and if things don't work out then you have a look at this time next season.

It 100% won't happen.

Also, I'm a little wary of characterising it as a situation where if the board did listen to "the fans" then he would be sacked. There's a very small minority - mostly trolls on Outlaws albeit a few more sensible posters - who have suggested his time is up. The vast majority are still behind him. There's been no chanting for his head at games - in fact there's not even been any booing. On Saturday the players and management team were clapped off the pitch despite our 8th loss in 9 - not the reaction of a fanbase who (as a whole) want shot of Still.

We sacked Sturrock for this very reason 2 seasons ago.......we're still in L2... Luton board take note.

Yeah I meant to mention that actually, wrong to typify the situation as "Luton fans" as a whole. As usual in these situation it's the minority that have these views when it's characterised as the whole support.

He's going mental. Apparently your performance on Saturday was 'first class'. It should have been 4 or 5. Lumping it to Benson every time isn't first class John.

He should definitely go, no defending the harm he has done to football bringing them back into the league.

In seriousness, no he shouldn't but knowing Luton I wouldn't be shocked if he did.

We've been lucky and unlucky all season. Earlier in season we were winning a ton of games that should have been draws. We're now low on confidence, lost a lot of our quality and experience for long chunks of time and are fairly and squarely getting beat.

Clearly it is not a time to get even think of getting shot of Still as the injury situation is out of his hands. I actually think it's a valid hypothesis that if (which is always a big word - lol) we had last seasons squad and they'd stayed fit for the whole season we'd be a class above. The basis is there and just needs some tuning.

Hang tough boys.

I could write a long post about why Still shouldn't be sacked.

Then again, that would be giving the question far more respect and thought it deserves. Of course Still shouldn't be sacked.

If the board have any sense they will keep John Still, he deserves it having taken you from the Conference to league 2 stability and with still(no pun intended !) a chance of the play offs and promotion.
Too many clubs make knee jerk decisions, ask the majority of supporters on this forum.

This sack Still stuff is a load of rubbish purely confind to Outlaws, that bastion of sane discourse, and one crazy guy I saw at Portsmouth after the game shouting abuse like a deranged lunatic who i think was actually mentally ill rather than actually holding that view.

Annoys me a little bit that other fans are going to think normal Luton fans actually believe this

Luton aren't Crawley where they could splash out £150K on a striker if they weren't scoring goals every couple of months when they were in this league.

Luton have a large squad and need to shift out a lot of dead wood to bring in some quality. Consolidation is a good thing for them. Luton are a big fish in the League Two pond and can attract players half of League One can't attract because of budgets and location. I feel if they have their consolidation now they'll be in a strong position to achieve promotion next season and then they'll adapt to League One better in course.

I just feel that if Luton went up this season they'd struggle in League One because Still would be tempted to give the players that got them up a chance when the squad needs trimming and injected with more quality to have a real good crack at the third tier.

Notwithstanding the identity of who actually started this thread, the amount of fans up at the top end of the table questioning whether their managers should be sacked really beggars belief.

I see it quite a lot, it's not just Luton, I often check opposition message boards after we play them to see what outsiders think of how we played. It seems that on every forum, apart from those where the manager is clearly doing an incredible job (JFH, Mellon, Moore) there are threads asking if the manager has lost it and if a change is needed.

appreciate that mowgli, i'm not in the still "out " corner, but after last
season's end debacle, after such optimism leading up to our capitulation,
i wonder what length the rope is that will hang him if it continues
on a tits-up direction??

As I said a few weeks ago, I think you'll avoid the drop. I had you as certs to go down over the summer (as I put in the league table prediction thread) but then with a couple of your signings being decent, I then changed my mind and now think you have the tools to stay up.
