Just saying but didn't Freedman pretty much assemble the Palace team that Holloway got promoted with? They were all set for promotion then he left for Bolton

WTF??? What a circus that guy Fawaz is running. So he sacks a club legend and within an hour or so of doing so, while things may still be raw with fans, appoints Dougie Freedman as his successor. Fecking hell Fawaz, priceless, simply priceless!

He's a better manager than Pearce, he'll have a better record come the end of the season compared to the 3 in 23 that SP recently has had.

Nottingham Forest, the club that keeps giving all the laughs to our rival fans! The decision for Pearce to go was unfortunately inevitable, it just wasn't working out for him. I'm glad he's gone quite soon because I didn't want his legendgary status tainted too much by causing a divide amongst our fans which was already happening. However to replace a legend who is a mediocre manager with someone who had a brief spell with us as a player, who has done absolutely nothing as a manager except for building average to poor sides is another headscratching decision by this regime.

Who would you rather been given the job because Freedman is a strange choice?

To be fair, I think its more the timing of the announcement that is a head scratching decision.

The scariest thing about the speed of this appointment is that preparation must have begun before yesterday's match, in some ways either the result was irrelevant and they were waiting to sack him or they had no faith in him and had someone lined up straight away. Either way, it's disrespectful given the fact we're 2 weeks removed from 'the big win' and the media calling it the turning point.

They were 4th in October. Hardly 'set for promotion'.

Win % @ Palace - 34.78%
@ Bolton - 33.66%

I would have preferred a more left-field appointment, maybe a foreign coach for the first time instead of one of the usual underwhelming tried and tested British failures. This appointment is eerily similar to that of when we appointed Alex McCleish , knowing us we will be searching for our next manager within a month anyway!

That's Fawaz's problem though right? Too pig-headed to ask for much help and because of his lack of knowledge and contacts there's no fucking chance of him knowing about a Karanka type option.

So at least we know that if we go up, I don't need to go to Nottingham next season!

Well there had been Dan Petrescu links touted in the press recently which I would have been happy enough with, but that possibly would have been too far fetched and I'm sure he would have been unnatainable with the way our club is run

Anyone and everyone outside of the County Ground called Pearce there as not going to work as soon as it happened, terrible manager. Forest have spent millions on a very competitive squad and then appoint a proven failure of a manager, such a crazy decision.

But Dougie Freedman is hilarious, have they somehow found somebody even worse than Pearce?

Nah, he's not worse. But he's not much better.

:fl::fl::fl::fl: Oh Christ. Got a feeling will be back here with a similar thread before the end of the season. What the fuck? Fawaz.

Dougie Freedman? Fucking LOL.

Fawaz must have just put all the names of every unemployed shit manager in a hat and pulled out that one.

They easily have one of the best squads in the league, it shows how shit Pearce is that they're mid table

Chief exec has resigned after apparently not being consulted on Pearce being sacked.

Who's going to make the 'Nottingham Forest are dying' thread?

Writing was on the wall after horrific form. Not sure about Freedman appointment, but their squad is one of the best in the league. Danny Mills was right!

I think Freedman probably will be a poor appointment, but other than that who would actually do a good job there, especially following a fans favourite like Pearce. Sherwood was in the running which sounded decent, and Martin O'Neill I think would have done a good job but there's a cats chance in hell he's leaving Ireland at the moment.

Become a little bit of a poisoned chalice.

Pearce turns down 'alternative role' as club ambassador. No surprise there.

Will any club be mental enough to take Pearce on now?

I could see him becoming a slightly more fashionable version of Martin Allen. Brought into clubs when in crisis and on the verge of relegation, does a lot of shouting and chest thumping for a month, wins a few games, and leaves/is sacked having done the job.
