I do like all these people predicting we won't do as well as others have said based on the fact we've had a quiet transfer window, takes a bit of the pressure off.

I hadn't realised that the more signings you make the better you do. We will have to try harder next time.

As said above, Gab Sutton spends most of the summer asking people on Twitter who they think their best signings are, most exciting young player, how they think they'll do this year, all that sort of stuff.

A month later he compiles other people's opinions into an article that has his name on it.

I'm sure he's a nice guy and he speaks quite well on stuff, but there's nothing original in what he says and I doubt he watches enough games to have strong opinions either way on most of the sides in this league - bear in mind he purports to be an EFL expert, not just League Two. I'm fortunate enough to work in football and I'd consider myself knowledgeable about the National League and League Two because I get to see a lot of both, but I'm not an absolute expert on either, just what I've seen - it's fine to be able to say 'I don't know' at times.

The 'Not the Top 20' guys are much the same. It's good to have a bit of coverage on our leagues, but not when it's all just soundbites and obvious comment.

And it was ever thus - who realistically can claim to have a relatively thorough knowledge of 72 football clubs and their squads? It's one of the reasons having a studio for an EFL highlights show is pointless, as the pundits never have anything insightful to offer as they simply don't know enough. So just show the goals.

Well, if your logic is correct we’ll piss the league - we’ve made 2 loan signings.

Unless you're more or less constantly watching games live/on video then no-one can really. Colin Murray is the only one who's at least seemed enthusiastic about the lower leagues in terms of presenters, but I think he's just naturally engaging anyway in the way he presents. Half the 'fronts' they have on these shows couldn't give a toss.

I doubt anyone is underestimating your chances, from my point of view I don’t believe you’re US trip will have helped the players, there are far more teams that are better than what you faced last season and I just feel it will take time for you to settle hence why I didn’t put you in the top3

Most are expecting Wrexham to compete for promotion let’s not try and make out otherwise, and they absolutely should do with likely the largest budget in the league.

Yep bandwagon jumpers. I've been very clear on my stance that you won't do as well as everyone has made out way before you didn't make any good signings.

No issue with Gab Sutton putting Rovers as lower mid-table, as that’s the conclusion I’m reluctantly coming to, but some of his other predictions are just plain weird.

I've always felt that 4th is more likely than first.

The US trip is a funny one. Great for bonding (but the squad is pretty close as it is) but in terms of fitness and conditioning I'm not sure how good it will be, although we do look pretty fit - pros and cons I suppose. Out pre season last year was a bit of a farce and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

Tbh whereas the media seem to have a wank fest over wrexham most league 2 fans see some bog standard club that’s spent 15 years in non league and will probably get trapped like salford.

I’d rather just the wrexham that sadly went down and came back up than all this nonsense.

Either way, the wrexham lot that went down with us and also have been down there have always been class fans long before all this stuff, i’m pleased for them

Probably one positive of the US trip is getting to fly on a big badboy Boeing as well.

We’re a good example of that. We had very busy transfer windows last season, signed 27 players and did brilliantly.

That’s true as last season was your highest ever league position so fair play.

The rest of us might as well give up if you listen to some Stockport fans online.

I'm glad the gov't changed the law on no-fault evictions, it clearly makes it easier to continue living rent free

If you say so I think you'll go up if that helps but this delusion that your a championship club is based on absolutely nothing we could say the same it's not what's being said on here but I've seen it from some of your fans online

Okay fair do's I'm being a bit facetious. But come on, five years ago we were still playing the likes of Leamington and North Ferriby, if anyone's earned the right to a little optimism it's us

I'll throw my hat into the ring.

I don't really have a clue and most of this was trying to remember what teams were in this league. I was more confident a few weeks ago but being without Mullin for a while might mean we start slow.

1. Salford *spit*
2. Stockport
3. Bradford
4. Wrexham
5. Mansfield
6. Notts C
7. Gillingham
8. Grimsby
9. MK Dons
10.Barrow
11. Tranmere
12. Doncaster
13. Swindon Slugs
14. Crewe
15. AFC Wimbledon
16. Newport C
17. Walsall
18. Sutton
19. Colchester
20. Accrington
21. Harrogate
22. FGR
23. Morecombe
24. Crawley

Yeah without wishing to be too arselickey toward Wrexham, in one of our first home games in NL (pre Hollywood) they brought something like 1400ish, which I thought at the time was a fantastic following for a team that had been in non league for so long.

Anyway here goes, my knowledge of other clubs in this league is very limited, going more on who the manager is, how they did last season, and hoping Salford are shite. We’ve got some great attacking talent, but our defence really does concern me, I think we’ve kept at least a couple of players who might not be up to it.

Gillingham
Stockport
Bradford
Wrexham
Donny
Mansfield
Swindon
MK Dons
Notts
Grimsby
Walsall
Accy
Barrow
Tranmere
Salford
Sutton
Crewe
FGR
Colchester
Morecambe
