The 1FF GameShow Marathon

Favourite game so far, despite coming last. Got us thinking and actually working together as a team. And those who scored points did so because they deserved to, not because of superior internet speeds. Good stuff.

It reminded me of the LR game in Survivor, where Steady had his infamous Nike moment, but better.

Obviously no offence meant LR. I loved Survivor too.

Yeah, Jimmy. As I said earlier that game was great fun to play. I can't take part in the fastest finger rounds due to slow ass internets. So whenever a game like this comes up it's always welcomed by me, but you can't fault what you brang to the forum there. As Nick Knowles would say: "You've achieved perfection".

Until last night it was going to be fastest finger in the thread. I changed it as although it's better to have as much in the thread as possible, I felt it was going to work a hell of a lot better.

It was a word connection game, where you had a word in the middle and you had to ask for a letter to be revealed from the word above or below it....For example, and this is how the game started IIRC

I can remember our Team (Aparri) guessing the first answer as Cone.
So it looked like this

Anyway we ended up with a situation like this......

Steady guessed as follows..

Tandang (Their team) guesses the word below Everton is Nike.

Reading that you'll wonder what all the fuss is about, but went down in the annals of TFF history and was very funny at the time for us involved in the game. It produced a flurry of doctored pictures of Wayne Rooney etc, with a Nike tick for a smile. He will never,EVER, live it down.

The word below Everton was Naismith btw.

I'd like to distance the good people of Tandang from that incident, it was Steady acting as a lone foolish maverick.

His reasoning was 'I thought their kit was once made by Nike'.

Considering I'm still without internet at home and haven't been at work for a couple of days so have had no connection since before my heart was ripped out of my chest with Tuesday's (I think Tuesday's?) elimination, I was looking forward to coming into work today, returning to this thread and seeing it was all a bad dream. That Wilson was still moaning about some sort of injustice from the first game of the original Survivor, that Spirederman had disturbed his critically ill next door neighbour in order to find out who the president of Madagascar was 17 years ago, that RavenBish was still just kind of there, and that Rammy was laughing at all of us from afar.

Instead, I return to Nike.

Whenever I'm asked what my biggest regret so far in my life is, I simply reply with that four-letter word. Of course, it elicits completely baffled responses, but people can feel my pain regardless. My anguish, my embarrassment, my deep-seated hatred for Steven Naismith.

Nike.

Unanimous opinion on said game: THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER.

This always happens to me. The few games I miss in these sorts of things always tend to be the ones that people bang on about forever because they're that awesome.

Oh well, at least I'm around all day for the game tonight.
