Erm...yeah the second one

Could be alright tomorrow if that's the case, not sure if Ledsham's ban starts tomorrow though, we'll probably still be a player light on the bench.
No we still have Ledsham though I'd prefer Garvin to start.

Looks like we will be missing Stefan Gallinksi fir tomorrow who has been excellent since he has come in to the defence. Will be interested to see how we cope with him and Todd Jordan

Boston have just managed to concede 3 goals in 4 minutes, which is some effort.

Their game was delayed for 30 minutes because the ref and one of the linesman got stuck in traffic on the A1!

Solid win today against Alfreton who won their last 4 I think. They didn't really get any chances because our defence is so solid but they did look a decent side, we could have had another 1 or 2 but couldn't finish it.

Alfreton's numbers were a mess, 9 in defence, 3 on the right wing and 5 at left back.

Well I am heartened by that. if you can see we are decent side from the limited performance we put in today then that has to be a positive.

Stockport 1 (Ellison 3) Afreton 0

Well no complaints from me about todays result

The Team Bus arrived late and that told right from start as Tom Allan made an error that lead to the Corner that Ellison scored from. Our start then set the tone as a I think a lot of our squad where overawed with the occassion and stadium.
Was very surprised he didnt start with Thanoj in midfield. Someone who would be comfortable in the surroundings

I thought we were very fortunate to not lose by more today too. Your Number 10 impressed and never stopped running all day

I thought Stockport were very solid at the back and restricted us to pretty much nothing. You did panic in the final 5 minutes when we applied some real pressure with a succession of late corners but by then it was too late.

AsI say we never really got going today. Got a feeling we are going to have to up our game at Tamworth next week in the FA Cup as they are still unbeaten after 11 games.

2-0 to the Moors! Top of the league, unbeaten and playing at home to a step 5 team in the cup next Saturday :woo:

I'm still relatively new to non league, but I'm assuming there is a massive difference between step 2 and step 5?
I've seen Highgate play and they look pretty poor.

I know you were joking, but just checking the standard gap is as big as I thought :2thumb:
We had Ilkeston away last year and they had Che Adams who destroyed us, let's hope they don't have any hidden gems.

The difference between step 2 & 3 is pretty big....let alone the difference between step 2 & 5

I think Ilkeston are Step 3, which is much closer to step 2 than Step 5

Step 2 to 3 there is a bit more quality, but not too much, but 2 to 5 is huge

There is a huge gap between the good and bad teams at step 5. Absolutely massive. It's all about money and it will all change during a season. Good step 5 teams will match decent step 4 teams on their day. Great step 5 teams (and Oadby certainly aren't that), could match step 3 teams possibly. I can't see a bang average step 5 side standing toe to toe with one of the better step 2 sides. You'd really have to not turn up on the day.

That said don't underestimate Oadby too much, I'm not sure what they have going on this season, but a quick look at the games they've played and it's mostly the stronger candidates in the UCL, so 5 points from 7 games isn't going to be a fair reflection. Also they do have to play Tuesday night, so that could be a problem for them.

They will obviously be up for it, but so long as you are too then you'll go through without too many issues.

Edit: Brown-Hill could be one to look out for, but he shouldn't be too damaging for you.

Thanks, I'm just hoping we don't play a weakened team.

If you play a weakened team in the FA Cup you deserve whatever you get IMO. Oadby weren't an overly dirty team when we played them (4 times in the last 3 years), and they heavily disliked us - probably because we have resources and we beat them to promotion. You shouldn't have to worry about injuries.

They actually have a few fans by contrast to most step 5 sides can hit over 100 on a regular basis (very rare down there). They have a few ex-R&DFC youth players in their lineup. They aren't going to challenge to go much higher, but they are probably technically a little better than most step 5 sides. Notably Callum Earls at LB is a good step 5 player who could probably play at step 4.

Ouch. John Johnstone has been handed a 3 Match Ban for his Red Card on Saturday. While Joe Leesley has been given a One Match ban for picking up his 5th Yellow.

Bans are really beginning to cost us.

One bit of positive news it that Dan Bradley returns from his 7 game absence on Saturday against Stalybridge Celtic.

We go away to Chorley on Saturday. I have a feeling this is where our unbeaten run will end, as we haven't been at our best in the last 2 games.

How are Lewis, Byrne, Gitto and Asante getting on? I think aside from Lewis, the others would still walk into our team.

Danny Lewis has been very good so far, he's made saves that have won matches for us, which Tony Breedon (last seasons GK) would never have saved. Byrne has scored some good goals, but doesn't always start. I haven't seen much of Gittings, apart from home to Oadby last Saturday, where he was pretty poor, I would be surprised if he would 'walk' into your team. Asante has been quality, he's had an injury, but he's a real presence up front and scored an excellent goal away at Corby.

Alfreton 1 (Robertson 27) Stalybridge 3 (Tames 10,70 Johnson 83)

Absolutely fucking abysmal second half today. Worse than any of Conference Premier shit days last season. Not good enough.

We are just so hot and cold at the moment. Great for the first 20 and final 15 at Tamworth then awful inbetween last week. Then today better side first half and unfortunate to be going in level at the break. Then played off the park second half. Too inconsistent at the moment.

Well its Hednesford next week in the FA Cup. The only other side to have won 4 drawn 4 and lost 4 of their 12 games so its anyones guess what will happen next week. We will certainly need a reaction from today though.

This rubbishing your own team is getting tiresome now.

We drew with 10 men for 83 minutes. Still top of the league and onto the Fa Cup on Saturday :bg:

Lets not enter a tit for that match. In the previous two matches I have been complementary of my team.
Dont get me wrong your fully entitled to your opinion on Wornsop whether I agree or not.

I objected to the use of the word tiresome. Problem with Jon is his height. Because he's short (under 6') he punches everything (did he do that with you?) costing us goals and points against Cheltenham (h), Tranmere (a) and Welling (a) and his decision making is sometimes suicidal. I feel we'd have 6 more points this season (which would put us in the play-offs) without his errors. He also drops a large number of his clearances out of play. I expect SB to sign a loanee keeper soon as he doesn't seem to rate Dylan Forth our stand-in.

What's going on at Telford this season? While I didn't really expect them to piss this tinpot league, I didn't see them "doing a Hyde".

Kittrick put together a pretty awful squad that got off to a poor start and despite a change in manager they just haven't recovered. When we played them under Kittrick they played some really pretty football and controlled the game but they lacked physicality and any cutting edge.
