Cracking first half at Boston.

3 goals, 2 pens, 2 red cards (both resulting in the pens).

Hey guys!

Come on Pliny! You lot may not trouble the play-offs, but neither will you go down. Just a bad start is all, and that's why I said in the other thread that Aspin's job is in danger, as the manager's is nearly always the one who's blamed when a side's on a bad run.

*Having said that, you must have witnessed some abysmal football from the Shaymen iso far, f you're already worried!

Corby 2-2 Chorley, we were woeful first half, it was 2-2 at half time though, so that was a goal filled half, in the second half, we turned on the style, we deserved a goal after great time play and work rate, in the 1st minute our striker (Darren Stephenson) missed an open net, sums up our start to the season really!

Small ground, with the Humber bridge in the background, good food and very small crowd!
Spot on! Not forgetting the train line by the side of the ground.
Drew 1-1 today with a last minute equaliser, Ferriby look like a decent team, but we didn't play as well as we have been. Certainly missing Omar Bogle today :ffs:.

The idea bandied about at the Shay of Aspin being "given 10 games" is really foreboding. What does that even mean? These players hardly know each other for the most part, and are U23 for the most part. Take the only person who knows them well as players out of the equation and we're basically Durham City FC, 2009/10. He's vital. I have this horrid feeling at the back of my mind that he's going ultra-experimental without being too hung up on the outcome, because he's in a position where, resign or dismissal, he'd be able to walk into a bigger club and take them higher quickly. He's a very good manager indeed, he's the only kernel in Halifax Town's husk really. Sure it's a far-fetched hunch, but I hope he wants to see this out and that the board do too. Again, Steve Burr's Kidderminster took 11 games to register a win in 2012/13 before finishing 2nd somehow.

One win in the last eighteen competitive fixtures. Obviously the last three have been with a new squad but it's scary how he spent nearly six seasons winning most games before going on that run.

Play has differed from last season, mind. The games we were drawing/losing early this calendar year were distinct for our physical, hoofball-ridden play, and the inkling some players would rather be anywhere but here. Three league games in, the symptoms are a huge lack of awareness between teammates, obvious individual errors and a slowness off the ball. The firepower appears to be arriving at the nick of time, and there's marginally more entertainment. We seem lovably incompetent, a bit like Hyde at the time but obviously not as bad.

We'd be marmalised playing like that against the chasing pack though. Owt could happen at Tranmere but it'll probably be like a puppy trying to complete 20 breadths of the M1.

There's also a very good chippy just round the corner from the ground.

2-2 with Chorley this past Saturday.

4 goals in the first half & we should have had more, came back from 1 down & looked the stronger side before they equilised and we should have put the game to bed before the break.

2nd half was pretty pour, a lot of heavy tackles and fair play to Chorley they looked likelier to steal the win the longer the match went.

Away to Hednesford tomorrow night, heres hoping for a repeat of last Wednesdays display.

worth mentioning that Ash Sammons scored both of our goals again, the second of which was another belter!
(check our club twitter account for footage!)

now 5 goals in 3 games, all of which were of top quality!

I know its early but he's arguably the leagues best signing of the summer so far!

Beat Worcester 3-0, a very convincing win, where we controlled from start to finish. Only early days, but things are looking promising! :woot:

We got robbed last night, we were winning 1-0 after an 87th minute goal, the ref somehow adds 5 minutes on, when there was 3 mins max in stoppages, we take the ball into the corner in the 95th minute, and the liner gives a foul for literally, and I mean literally nothing, Ferriby take the free kick and score on the 97th minute.

The ref was against us all game, he sent off 2 of our players last season, he gave 39 free kicks, completely disrupted the rhythm of the game.

Dissapointing not to make it 4/4 but still a great start when you look at the teams we've played, really impressed with Young aswell so far, his subs have been changing games. Big game on Saturday against the league leaders.

We weren't robbed in the slightest. It was a niggly game full of fouls, no arguments about 5 minutes, during which there was a sub and other hold-ups. The officials were shocking but that's because they were inept, not because they were malicious. Doesn't matter if play had carried on for ten minutes, you keep playing, and we defended poorly.

We were. There was no way 5 minutes of stoppages, have you listened to Young's post match interview? He says he asked the ref where the time to came from and he said the 2 subs in added time, NY asks him later on and the ref then says there was just one sub. The ref gave everything to them, they had a striker who was 6ft 8 and he hit the ground every 5 mins and the ref fell for it.

Montrose ran the ball into the corner on 5 minutes and the liner gave a foul for literally nothing. And we should have had a pen. The Ferriby players were practically thanking the ref after the game aswell.

Chorley absolutely hammered FC united on Tuesday! Outstanding team performance by the lads, the front 3 were amazing, and when they came off, they were replaced by another great performer, of we play like that all the time, we'll be banging in goals left right and centre and will be a team to fear! The attacking options are amazing for us and full of pace!

Decent start for us. We look solid, hard to beat and all that but we do look like we lack a bit of a spark going forward and a consistent stream of attacking threat. Baggie coming back from injury may help as he looked our best attacking threat in pre season. Young also said today he's looking to bring in another attacker now that Holsgrove has been loaned out. Ruthless from Young really, seems like he's always willing to freshen it up. Our results have been good but we need to score more goals or each match will be a long hard slog. The positive is I think Young knows this.

Played well today, I think both teams cancelled each other out really, second half we were the better side but like Stocky says we are missing something upfront, Colley and Dyson did out wide but Odejayi had a poor game and is clearly not match fit and Gonzales didn't do much when he came on either. We look brilliant defensively, O'Hanlon and Thorniley are rock solid.

I'll be very surprised if we don't finish in the top 5.

What's going on at Telford? One goal all season and that was a pen, and today lost 2-0 at home to Gainsbororough who played over an hour with 10 men

Won 3-1! Stalybridge have a nice ground, but not many supporters. Have they lost out because of Fcum?
Darryl Knights now has 5 in 5 and WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE :woo:

Great win by us today, referee was against us all, day and gave us nothing. First goal was an own goal by Clayton McDonald, (you might know his name from the Ched Evans case) he started at city's academy, he must have been the worst player by far, he was crap! They had someone sent off, eventually, but we had about 8 yellow cards for jack s**t! There second goal was a free kick that was never a free kick! It was also scored by N'ti, who shouldn't have been on the pitch because he dived about 6 times! Including the one leading to the goal. But on the whole we were a lot better and deserved to win! Being from Burnley (not me, hate that scum) can have its advantages, you would have enough fingers to count how many times they cheated!
