Ardley will not be fielding 11 kids in any remaining game. He's very protective of young players, too protective in many fans' eyes who wish he'd play them more. I took his comment to mean that someone like Egan who has only come on as a sub so far may get a start. Or other young'ish/fringe players (Fitzpatrick, Beere, Oakley) may get more game time. In the case of the latter, they will be giving their all in the hope of getting a new contract for next season.
Yep pretty much this. A chance for the fringe players to stake a claim. Won't be a full side but a few. Might be motivated or on other hand might not be good enough.

WOW,, points in bag over games in hand all day.
And you have Vaughan ....
calm down lad
UTS doesn't do calm. He has been so much better lately as well. Mind after Tuesday's mauling I think I need to cut him a little slack this time.

If Vale don't beat either Wimbledon or Chesterfield in their next 2 games, only then will I start to feel a little happier.

We've got Rochdale away on Tuesday night in between those two fixtures, so anything there is a bonus.

Although, suggesting we get even a solitary point from an away game, especially against a side on the fringes of the top six, is pretty brave. However, we did take a late lead at Southend, who are actually in the top six, and probably should've had enough to hold onto that for a priceless three points, so hopefully Rochdale put in a similar poor showing and we can sneak something. At least I'll only be paying £1 to watch us get smacked by Calvin Andrew, Ian Henderson and Callum Camps, anyway. :gr:

Hello faint hope. Didn't expect us to be giving it as good a go as we are but it seems we are deciding to hit form at possibly the right time!

Big win for Vale today especially with the other results around us. Can maybe see a little light at the end of the tunnel now however with our final run in this team needs to back it up at Rochdale on Tuesday.

Huge win and played well. Bikey is a beast, if we can keep Eagles on form and fitness we have a chance.

Never thought I'd say the words 'thank Christ for MK Dons'.

As for us, we are fucking abysmal and are in a deep, deep pile of poo.

Have Oldham and Shrews peaked too early?

Well done Vale, you recruited some good free transfers and looks like you have come good at the right time also.

Gills look to be plummeting.

Well, duh, how long have we been telling you? As fast as the lead weighted turd our team resembles.

First rule of Gills - concede early, preferably two
Second rule of Gills - On the rare occasion that you recover, always leave a minute or two for the other team to wake up from coasting in time knock a winner in.
Thats our boys !!

Shrews looking doomed, with Gills too looking to throw it away. It could be an interesting last few games. Not sure why Charlton are getting anxious?

Gills sleepwalking to relegation, just like 2010. Cov pretty much down already. Swindon too little, too late?

All promotion challengers recently. A hangover is deadly in this league.

Shrews and Gills may be the ones to go. We've hit some good form over the last six games and Swindon have picked up two massive wins. Going to be interesting that's for sure!

You go above us if you win your game in hand. Will you stop being anxious then?

We're 4 points above the drop and are awful. That's why we're anxious. Hopefully another 4 or 5 points should be enough for us.

Got 2 consecutive home games next. They will seal our fate one way or another.

Well, you already have three more guaranteed as we still have to come to your place and we have already declared (to use a cricket term) at our existing points total. Twelve conceded in our last four games, all lost.

That would take you to fifty and your goal difference is worth an extra point. It will get much better after playing us, believe me. Can't see Shrews or Swindon getting over fifty so I think you are safe.

you are probably needing 4 pts to assure L1 football next season. I'm sure you will achieve that with your remaining games.

Just back from mk.

Were done no chance of us staying up, absolutely diabolical 1st half improved 2nd half gave ourselves a chance of a decentish point with a last minute goal away from home but even managed to fuck that up.

Goodbye leaue one its been fun, cant see us coming back anytime soon. :(:(:(

Swindon have got to be favourable for staying up with there form at the minute. We seem to have stumbled awkwardly of late. Certainly anyone from Charlton down is in with a shout and there is definitely 2 places up for grabs again.

Gills and shrews would be my shout currently

Thoughts on Bury's chances?
Kackin it mate.
We have enough firepower but can self explode for no reason at any time.
At a push i think we will be OK but going down to the last game.

I think it'll be close but I think there will be two worse teams off than us. Who that will be is anyone's guess though.

as if things weren't bad enough for Chesterfield, they've gone and given Guy Branston a job in recruitment.
