Thomas has been cack the last two games, doesn't help that Hignett is playing a natural left footer on the right wing, he's having to cut in on his left every time, can give the lad some leeway, he'd scored 6 in 6 games including a few crackers.

Just watched the full game on Player.

Have to say I thought we played well. I don't know what the fuck Hignett is on if he seriously thinks they controlled the game first half and were the better team. He said Carlisle never looked like scoring, but before the sending off it should have been 3-0, Miller and Ibehre both missed absolute sitters just before and after half time. Those kind of easy chances have to go in, there's no excuse for strikers to miss the target with them. Shocking misses.

Pools do look a useful team with some good players in the midfield and wide areas so credit to them, they had good possession, not enough to say they controlled the game (FFS Hignett), but when they had it they moved it about well.... but truth be told our keeper didn't really have a save to make until after the sending off, so we deservedly went in 1-0 up despite Hignett saying he didn't know how they were losing at half time.

After the sending off pools were well on top, no doubting that. We sat back, got 2 goals from set pieces and worked our socks off to see the game out. I think we deserved the win.

I can see why Hartlepool are good away from home, the 2 wide lads make them a threat on the break. But if Hignett is filling their heads with bull shit like what he tells the media then I think it's bad news. It's all well and good keeping their confidence up but he's got to be realistic with his players.

I doubt any manager says the same in private as he does in public. If you look at his body language in that interview on Poolsworld, he's fuming.

Surprising to hear that Thomas was anonymous. He had six shots on goal, including one that came back off your keeper to Alessandra for the first goal. Maybe he scores because people don't notice him eh?

No he didn't.

Thomas is all left foot, Grainger dealt with him well, gradually resulting in several weak long shots from him.

Most wingers are all one footed.Grainger had an easy game Saturday because Thomas was wasted on the wrong wing.If Thomas had been on the left it would have been a different story.
Don't know what the police were playing at,but we went to have a pint in the ground, they stopped our coach & took us left up a street to a real ale pub.First time that has happened.
We then had to walk to the ground past queueing Carlisle fans.
Considering there was trouble before the game,i thought it was strange.

Slightly off-topic, I was shocked to read on another post where you mentioned driving back after one of the Leeds game from a few years back. I had you down as one of those late-teen-who-still-wears-his-home-top-over-his-hoody types going by your posts... no offence, like. It's just the impression I got.

I'm not offended, don't really care how old people think I am here, though surprised you thought that as I always thought that I came across as a bit of an old curmudgeon on here.

I've said before , either here or on our board ...If Thomas isn't looking sharp , you might as well replace him at half time ...that said , Thomas should switch wings throughout the game as he's both our best left and right winger
