Oh well, difference in class was obvious, but despite the scoreline, I thought we gave a decent account of ourselves especially in the first half.

Gave away two simple, for Chelsea, early goals which is criminal against sides like this, but got back into it and was holding our own until Green gave away a stupid penalty right on half time.

Second half they score early again and then to be fair to Jolley he didn't shut up shop to prevent an embarrassing scoreline, he brought on our pacy attacking players but just didn't work, Chelsea too good and our players too tired by then.

If it wasn't for McKeown it would have been double figures, they were picking our defence apart that much in the last 15.

Ignoring the scoreline we gave it a go, which is all you can ask for.

Our coach is like a fucking library, hopefully on the way home after we’ve dumped Chelsea out it should liven up a bit.

Probably won't be too rowdy on the way home either....

Not very often a keeper concedes 7 and is our man of the match but if it wasn’t for Macca today it would’ve been double figures, lost count of the amount of one on ones he saved in the second half, last 20 minutes were brutal Chelsea could’ve scored 10 just in those 20 minutes they were just ripping through us.
Never stopped singing though our away support never ceases to amaze me.

It was a professional performance by Chelsea to be fair and when that happens there's very little chance. They've got some very good youngsters. Players worked their bollocks off and everything caught up with them in the end. We were sadly too limited to trouble them too much and didn't get enough set pieces to do damage. We scored the best goal of the game and Max Wright was outstanding when he came on so happy days.

Awful for the loser but what an opportunity for both clubs that is to make the quarters!

Wouldn't have minded so much at home, but we're playing them away in a couple of weeks anyway, we'll probably lose and there's not exactly any gate receipts to be had either. If we win though then, of course, I retract my disappointment!

BEST 7-1 DEFEAT EVER. 2nd half was painful. 15min period after Green's goal we were actually the better team though. Then that pen before half time killed it. Fuck 'em though, I knew they were a bunch of shit prawn sandwich munching fans before that and tonight only confirmed it. I'd rather lose 7-1 and be a Town fan with a sore throat than win 7-1 and only get out of my seat when someome on the touchline is waving a big flag.

Oh yeah also another ref who doesn’t know the rules, ball hits the ref on the edge of Chelsea’s box so instead of stopping play like the new rules say, he lets Chelsea play on.
If they’re gonna change all the fucking rules maybe at least check that the referees actually know them.

If we’d actually done the proper lower league vs PL game plan and sat back, I think the score would have been slightly more respectable. But we decided to make attacking subs and that backfired. They were dead on 80 minutes. Pollock seemed to be injured for the last 30 minutes. Imagine making only your second full start against Chelsea!

Thought Frank fielded a stronger XI than I expected, probably a good 7 first teamers in there. No one really stood out but they didn’t need to. I’m so pleased that we scored as that was my only wish - and what a goal it was!

Stamford Bridge is so much better than the TV gives it credit for, nightmare getting out though.

Were Chelski the last team to touch the ball prior to it hitting the official?

I don’t know, I just remember that we had someone running in on the edge of the box who would’ve got to the ball before anyone else in a very promising position so we were all a bit bemused when it hit the ref and he just played on.

I cant remember it exactly but I believe the ref was in the area anyway, so if he had blown it would have been a drop all for their keeper

It’s here, yeah it does come off the Chelsea player but it hits the ref just outside the box and without it hitting him Whitehouse would be getting there first so as far as I know by the new rules play should have been stopped?

Guaranteed a League One and Two side in the Quarters, then if they both get drawn together...

No the rule isn't quite everytime the ball hits the ref as I thought, it's if it hits the ref and a goal is scored, poccession changes or a promising attack is started.

None of things happened here so he didn't need to stop play. Yeah it sucks that Whitehouse could have got the ball but in previous years if the ball hit the ref nothing would have happened then either.

Just to put our 7-1 into perspective, Pedro (who scored their penalty) was on 5.2 Million last year and cost over 24 Million. He was their worst player on the pitch last night! Talk about outclassed, it was pretty difficult to watch at times, they just carved us apart all over the park.

Stamford Bridge has changed (for the better) since I was last there, really impressive stadium now, shame it's not filled each week with passionate noisy football fans like it used to be.

Pulisic was garbage was well. I was very impressed with Billy Gilmour, always demanded the ball and already had a forward pass lined up before he'd even received it. Reece James was an obvious standout too. Lampard will do well by getting those youngsters involved in the first team. I don't think many sides at our level would've done too much better last night to be honest.

The lack of mud beat us. It had been raining for most of the day and therefore you should get some mud and not a billiard table surface. Joe Waters used to run the game in the middle of the park when it was muddy with Bobby Cumming and Micky Brolly using Scottish thuggery and sublime skills on the slightly less muddy bits on the wings. That's the other problem, the fact that outright acts of thuggery against more technically gifted players early on in the game to make them a little bit scared are instantly punished with a red card. That never used to be the case and teams like Chelsea and Everton used to be a bit scared of Grimsby.

We’d have got Man Utd in the next round if it wasn’t for those 7 lucky goals too.

I know someone who got home at 8am! Right mare of a journey back, that.
I heard one coach broke down and another crashed into a car near the ground so I guess he was on one of those?

Could be worse. When we played Man U, one of the coaches broke down on the way and 50 or so U’s fans missed our match at Old Trafford as they were stranded on he M6.

Crawley are 165 tickets away from selling out for our fourth round game, whilst our tickets went on general sale yesterday and we have around 200 left of a 1,750 allocation. MASSIVE.

So we're at Man United in the quarter-finals this evening and they're starting with Young, Maguire, Shaw, Matic, Greenwood, Mata, Rashford and Martial. Should be easy enough!
