Who doesn't love to play in a competition where the trophy you win looks like Gary Lineker. Love the first round, Hope you all got a more glamorous tie than ourselves.

We've gone eight games without a win, and face Chesterfield who have lost six on the bounce without scoring a single goal... all gears up for a real cup classic.

We've lost to Non league Eastleigh, York and Tamworth in recent years. I can barely remember winning an fa cup game in recent years.

Lump on a Cheltenham win that's all I can suggest.

This is our 11th season back in the League and in that time we've only been drawn against a non-league team twice (AFC Fylde and Salisbury) but thankfully managed to win them both.
This weekend we're away at Bradford - a tough one however we did beat them on penalties in the League Cup this season...

St Albans away on Sunday, think we're close to selling our 600-odd allocation. It'll be a tough game as they're in fine form in the Conference South, but I think we'll have enough to progress.

Dover at home on Saturday. On paper we should win but this is a massive banana skin and I really think we have as much chance of going out as winning.

I'd much prefer to win a trophy that looks like Gabby Logan.

Either way, I've been and had a word with our manager, we're singing off of the same page and it'll now be a comfortable afternoon against the Pilgrims, who will be able to concentrate on sustaining top spot.

Bolton away. Probably the most glamorous tie we could've got. I expect to lose but Bolton may field a weakened team.

Did he say anything about his wingers who he clearly does not rate? Hopefully we can get a couple in on loan in Jan.

As long as we don't draw and have to go to Crewe on a Tuesday I'm alright.

I actually wouldn't mind us drawing at St Albans. A tuesday night home game replay against part time non leaguers from down south is quite appealing.

Think we may lose against Dover and I'm also thinking that would be the end of Derry, well that's what I'm hoping for anyway, lovely bloke en all but unfortunately he's just a bit crap.

I won't be attending as I'm fed up watching toilet football, still up the u's and KTF!!!

I also think we might lose against Dover and that could be the end of Derry - but it's not what I'm hoping for. I'm sure our mood swings aren't driven purely by performances at the Abbey so any relief from a Derry exit is bound to be shortlived.

If I could get fed up watching toilet football, I'd have given up watching the U's years ago. That's not complacency or acceptance (I'll be pissed off during and after the match if that's what we get served up again) but It's recognition of reality - and you must have been going through the wringer longer than me.

What will be, will be. We're not going to Wembley (unless we happen to be there on 2 April) but I'd welcome a few more FA Cup matches to fill out what is likely to be a disappointing season. You or me wishing for us to lose won't make it happen or see Derry out of the door any quicker, it just gives us more reasons to be miserable. So I'm happy to support the team, watch a hotly disputed cup tie and hope that either the board have a better option lined up for our next manager or we're misjudging what the current manager is capable of.

That said, most of our home performances really are toilet and I think there'll be plenty taking your attitude, so we could have our lowest gate of the season (Trophy aside).

2 - 2 in front of 2,766 (222 Dover)

I got the impression that he feels that he's most of his errors with the midfield. Is anyone convinced with any of our wide options?

If they were, I might be going. Actually, they're away to Taunton on Sunday and, although I was considering heading over, tickets sold out quickly (only 2,400) and the weather looked pretty threatening for such a drive.

So I'm guessing they'll probably stroll through that one provided they turn up.

I don't believe tomorrow's result will have any influence on Derry's position, win draw or lose. Neither will the inevitable defeat that's awaiting us at Crawley.

Yeah, I think I was mixing their opponents with a league fixture from the other week.
