Time I think to get this going.

Looking at the table, I can't see anyone below the current top 10 featuring in this; apart from maybe Colchester who will move into the top 10 if they win their game in hand and have enough about them. Morecambe, Crawley, Port Vale and Harrogate are on the down-slide after making decent starts though with a decent squad, the right manager for Vale could maybe turn things around. Below that you have the thoroughly mid-table Walsall and then a few teams clambering out of the relegation picture but probably not good enough to go all the way up to the top end.

So this makes it a battle between:
Newport
Cheltenham
Exeter
FGR
Carlisle
Cambridge
Orient
Tranmere
Salford

and

Bolton!

oh, and also Colchester... maybe.

Depends how quick we stop the rot, confidence is low but we've got bodies back now and the performance Saturday was far better. I am personally more worried about the drop at the moment!

I wouldn’t write any team off in the top 20 for a play off push. Look at how quickly the unmentionables and ourselves have turned things around. All Port Vale need is a win to get the wind back in their sails.

Both of you have been on winning runs going back several weeks though, anyone else would need to be starting their winning run now, and then they could be in the promotion race by January, but if they don't start now then I don't think they will. It's unlikely I think that anyone outside the top 10 besides Colchester and the real outside chance of Port Vale would do that. Mansfield maybe, but it's unlikely they'd put together a five or six game winning run.

Still 31 games left, way to early to suggest anything. 4 games and 3 minutes ago we were heading level with the autos for instance so it can change quickly.

Tranmere came from the lower reaches in February to gain promotion via the play offs and still have a transfer window yet.

League is very congested so far too.

The general feeling is that we will slip back into mid table, we've not beaten any of the top teams yet this season. We usually fall just short against the better sides - Which has been the case since we came up last season.

Narrow losses to Newport in the Cup, FGR and Cheltenham so far and we scrapped a deserved draw against Exeter - But a serious brain fart at the back for us nearly meant we lost that as well.

Keep Danny Johnson, Lawrence Vigouroux, Conor Wilkinson and Jobi McAnuff fit and we will push for the top 7, but it will be at the expense of a dodgy backline - But recently we have defended alot better.

12 of our 24 man squad won the National League with us, so we have recent experience of playing near the top of a league under pressure.

Teams, even those near the bottom, only need to win 2 games out of every three for the rest of the season and will then finish in the play offs.

I thought you looked one of the better sides we’ve played this season, along with Tranmere.

We all know that we are guaranteed a play off spot and a loss at Wembley. So there are 3 auto spots up for grabs and just 3 play off places left.

Port Vale fans told us they were going to piss this league after only two games were played.

Two games!

Don't write Grimsby off yet, we could go either way; most likely the wrong way, but you never know, we might 'click' again, climb up the table and surprise a few people.

The days of Carlisle being in danger are gone, because now we are THE DANGER.

A team opens its door and gets thrashed, you'd think that would be us, but no..

WE ARE THE ONES WHO KNOCK!!

Saturday’s performance against Walsall sort of knocks it out of you because we were absolutely battered. Our next game is a tough one too away at Exeter. We have the trophy midweek against Man City followed by Saturday’s game. Knowing Tranmere fans, two defeats in those and we’ll be back in “crisis”.

Still very hopeful for the season and we’ve had some great performances in the last few weeks to convince me we’ve got a squad more than capable of challenging for promotion come the end of the season.

We've been consistently thrashing teams this season, our match against you was just a blip they do happen.

If you are thrashing teams why are you not top and why is your GD the lowest in the top 7?

I mean thrashing teams as in us really pressing teams for the whole 90 minutes not allowing them to breathe, just check the L2 statistics of teams with the busiest attack and quietest defence. We top it by miles and out of all the teams I've seen play in this league this season we are the most aggressive.

I doubt there is any other club here that can touch us on our play, we fear no one as every other team is shit and are either too cautious or try some useless 'philosophy' style of football which just does not work down here.

Jesus carver, we haven’t thrashed anyone other than Crawley.

We do press but we aren’t perfect at it yet, not by any means. We still get caught out at times. We have definitely improved since those first few god awful performances of the season, but we are still work in progress and a little bit off where you think we are, reflected by the fact that we haven’t been in the top 3 yet, not even for a week. Hopefully that changes soon and we do break into it, but you’re prematurely blowing your load here port vale style.

Thrashing = 5-0 or greater win.

Still good to hear that Carlisle are the best team in the division by absolutely fucking miles though, everyone make a note of that.
That was the first day of the season mate come on, our team was new and trying to gel and you were this seasons early pace setters before your bubble burst.

If only there was an accurate way of measuring who the best team in the division is....

Right, a 5-0 win is a thrashing but what about say Grimsby winning 3-0 at some place like Old Trafford? That's also a thrashing in my book. And yeah I know the likelihood of any L2 side* pulling off something like that is almost non existent but you get my point.

*even if that side happens to be Carlisle United.

3-0 is not a thrashing unless the game is very one sided and could easily have been more imo.

We once lost 5-0 at Barnet in the Conference back when they had players like Grazioli and Beadle but we were the better side, they just hit us on the break a lot.

So sometimes even 5-0 isn't really a 'thrashing'. All depends how the game goes.

If we fail to beat Stevenage tomorrow, carver is going to look like a right knob.
