If only there was an accurate way of measuring who the best team in the division is....
The is a accurate way....Major honours/Years spent in the top flight.......the best team in the league is Bolton by a country mile followed by Bradford and Oldham

Legge makes it after a seizure earlier in the week, as does Worrall and Pope is also fit to make the bench.

League debut for young Alex Hurst, surprising as he looked a bit out his depth last week when he came on.

No Monty is a blow though he’s been excellent but with Woz playing that’s a massive boost

Same team that started against Vale last week meaning 18 year old George Thomason retains his place at the centre of midfield.
Some big calls by Evatt.

Yeah I was there, but we’re not the best team in league 2 for fuck sake. Stop setting yourself up for a fall, it could all change quickly if we lose a couple, particularly now George Tanner is out for a while.

Since we beat Southend I've seen us dominate every team we've played.

As for the few teams that have beaten us, well they were just lucky on the day for one reason or another. So I've yet to see any other team dominate us.

You didn’t watch the Tranmere game then.

Tranmere were really good defensively that night but I don't remember them ever hammering our goal with chances. They got their goal and just sat back and fortunately for them we had a rare off day.

They got on top of us in midfield. Probably the only team to do that to us this season and i include Cambridge in that who beat us 3-0.

You said we’ve dominated every game since Southend. We absolutely did not dominate against Tranmere.

Ok fair enough, Tranmere as well then, but just on the day because they're in a bit of a rot now all of a sudden and got thrashed today which is something that hasn't happened to us because we're far more consistent than they are and don't forget that we beat Newport who have somehow been top for a bit now after only playing and beating all the shit teams in the league.

I do believe we're the best team in L2 and I think we'll soon be top because I've a really good feeling about this lot and thankfully we're the only proper good team in this terribly shit division.

All the teams who beat us up the top did so deservedly. Cheltenham, Tranmere and Exeter were all good teams but nice that none of them battered us and we weren't out of sight. We're a fairly new team though and could capitalise if someone *cough* Exeter *cough* loses their way towards the end of the season. FGR will be a massive game. Next weekend I think it is.

I can see this being Forest Greens year for promotion so I'll happily take a point down there.

We've had more seasons in the top flight than Oldham, I think?

I think Bolton have had 73 seasons in top flight, oldham, bradford and grimsby all 12 seasons.
Correct me if im wrong .
Ah yeah you're right, I had counted 1945/46 previously thinking we had 13, but there wasn't actually a league that season.

3-0 is not a thrashing unless the game is very one sided and could easily have been more imo.

We once lost 5-0 at Barnet in the Conference back when they had players like Grazioli and Beadle but we were the better side, they just hit us on the break a lot.

So sometimes even 5-0 isn't really a 'thrashing'. All depends how the game goes.
5-0 is never not a thrashing

Hard to be proud of your team valiantly losing 5-0 against lucky opponents. Played them off the park, but unfortunately the referee/woodwork/weather/pitch/keeper spoilt the game. 9 times out of 10 we would easily have won that game etc etc etc.

I've watched Crawley get a few hammering over the years and only two spring to mind where the result didn't reflect the overall game. One against Cheltenham and one against Croydon Athletic. We sacked the keeper after the Croydon game as he was letting balls bounce over him and stuff.

Generally, you let in four or five goals to nil. You've been hammered.

Rhys Bennett has been absolutely vital since coming into our team. These are the shots that opposition have had on target in the last 6 games since Bennett came into our starting lineup.

We’ve conceded 2 goals in these 6 games.

Not even convinced that Mansfield's shot on target from yesterday was on target. I'm assuming it was the cross-cum-shot that Farman tipped over the bar and the goalie going for it probably made the stattos conclude it was on-target but from where I was stood it was going to hit the bar square on.

Probably good that Farman tipped it over because then we'd have had a rebound to deal with and we're pretty good at dealing with corners. He was probably just getting a bit sick of not appearing on the highlights shows so decided to 'make a save'.

I was right behind it and I think it was going in. It was a great effort to be fair. But even so it’s not a shot on target that the defence can stop.
