Can't tell if that was genuine or not. I bought it at the time but the cynic in me thinks it was all set up for a rematch.

Harsh night tonight as that's three boxers put into retirement - Mathews, Malignaggi and Haye (should be).

Davis looks a really class act and should be fighting at world level sooner rather than later.

Feel quite smug as I called Bellew a few months back to beat Haye. Great fighter in his time, but you can't take 5 years out of the ring and hope to fight again at elite level. Fair play to him though for carrying on when injured.

Would love Bellew to go out with a fight with Wilder. Would really show up Wilder for the fraud he is by getting beaten by a cruiserweight.

Haye was winning the fight until he fucked his leg in a really innocuous manner, I don't know if you can give Bellew too much credit for beating a guy who couldn't plant his feet for the final five rounds. He's probably done, but more to do with his body falling apart than being retired by Bellew. Think Wilder would smash Bellew, he was gassed after six rounds at this weight.

Bellew's a world champion, and rightly so, at Cruiserweight. That's elite.

Bellew is now more elite than Froch based on resume.

Thurman eased to a win over Garcia. Took rounds off towards the end which was stupid but a clear win.

That's not saying much though, is it? He was expected to blow Bellew away within a couple of rounds. I thought it was a really poor performance even before he fucked his leg.

Amusing to see Bellew ranked at #2 HW in the world on Boxrec.

Thurman is too good, clearly the best welterweight out there now.

Was an alright fight between Garcia and Thurman. Garcia has a hell of a chin on him and seeing his dad's face when he was announced the loser was brilliant.

I don't think Thurman is all that, he's very open to the body and it'll be his downfall eventually. Saying that though, he's improved dramatically since the Bunbu fight. Much better on his feet and seems to be picking his punches better.

Is there only me then that doesn't believe the injury was genuine or at least to the extent it was being made out. I thought Haye gassed and was looking for a way out that made him look a little bit less of a dick with all the crap he'd said in the build up about finishing it whenever he wanted.

Credit to Bellew he performed really well, made Haye miss a lot and took his shots no problem when he was caught. He now has a bigger win on his CV than Wilder at heavyweight which shows just how bad Wilders opponents have been.

I don't like Haye but he was heading to a wide UD or a late KO there for sure. The clip showing his achilles go is grim. Haye looked poor, but Bellew looked like what he is, a cruiser fighting a heavy. Bellew was looking OK but all he could really do was try not to get knocked out, he wasn't winning by any stretch. He couldn't get a 1 legged guy out of there and basically punched himself out trying. It was always a stupid fight. I don't like these cross-weight clashes at all. It was a bit classless of the guy to try and make it all about him in the interview after and not mentioning the injury. Haye HAD to avoid the subject after the Klit fiasco and wanting to leave the rematch open.

Will have to watch Garcia Thurman later on, love One-Time

No, but the Bellew love in afterwards was a bit much. Haye playing the magnanimous card in an attempt to beg for a rematch, everyone praising Bellew for his heart and determination after he beat up a crippled fighter who was already a shadow of his former self before he got injured. "Best heavyweight outside the champions." Wilder would kill him. I think Haye deserves a rematch if he decides to go again.

Wait, people still believe what Tyson Fury says on Twitter? The latest picture of him would suggest he's pushing 30 stone at present.

David Lemieux commits murder against Curtis Stevens. Makes GGG's win against him look all the more impressive. Took his great power and jabbed him to bits.

Lemieux and Mikey Garcia up for KO of the year.

GGG against Jacobs this weekend, toughest test of his career by a distance I would say. There's been talk of him facing Saunders after that, back home in Kazakhstan, seems bizarre so I can't see that one at all. I think there's loads of big fights to be made for GGG in England at 160-168lb, Eubank, Saunders, DeGale, Groves, Callum Smith etc. Although I think he'd fight Saunders for nothing to get that belt, I see the DeGale one being most likely from that list.

GGG has wanted all the belts since he became a champ and has spoken of his desire to become undisputed in his homeland. BJS has been full of "I'm a traveller afraid of no man" mentality so I wouldn't rule it out. Few sources to suggest it's set in stone provided he comes through Jacobs.
