McGregor will not be able to even land a jab on him. This should not count towards Mayweather's record, it should be classed as an exhibition event or something.

Eugh, wish this had fallen through so he could get back to the UFC lightweight division as soon as possible. The only people that benefit from this are the fighters and promoters, because we'll all tune in despite already knowing the result. If McGregor lasts more than a few rounds, it should be considered a success. At least the talk will all be over soon. Praying that McGregor voids his contract, takes Floyd down and chokes him out in front of millions of people. :animatedf:

Paddy Power is pricing a Mayweather win at 1/6. WTF. If they take the bet, it will be a four figure bet.

Mayweather will kick his arse. But I doubt McGregor will give a fuck given the money he'll earn.

But a joke of an event that shouldn't even be classed as a 'fight'.

More interested in Kovalev v Ward this weekend.

Paul Smith was gifted yet another undeserved shot at a world title and lo and behold he was beaten comprehensively by Tyrone Zuege, with all three judges scoring it 119-108.

Just retire.

Watched Ward v Kovalev 2 this morning. Ward outclasses him tbh. Kov has a good jab and a strong straight right but that's about it. If he can't set his pace and dominate how he wants, he can't adjust. No uppercuts, no real inside work, one dimensional stuff. The bollock shots were definitely low imo but the fight was already over. Kov should have took a knee and a count, but I don't think it would have affected the outcome of the fight much. Ward showing himself #1 pfp again

Agree with this, Ward was really taking over at the time of the stoppage and starting to really hurt Kovalev.

I hope Kovalev keeps his mouth shut now and stops crying robbery. Him and his team over the course of the 2 fights have acted like spoilt brats who've been hard done too.

I hope that fat mess is never seen again, he's an absolute twat of a man. Imagine if he'd have won, he'd have made Bellew look a tolerable and humble world champion.

Andre Ward though, what can you say apart from he's one of the greatest boxers of all time and easily the best of his generation. He's a dirty fighter and always has been but Kovalev knows this and proved he couldn't adapt his style. I still think Kov just about won the first fight but the back end of it was all Ward once he'd adapted to Kov's style. Saying that, last night's fight should not have been stopped in that way, it was clearly a low blow and he should have been allowed to recover. I still think Ward would have won the way it was going, he'd hurt Kovalev for basically the first time in his career last night.

I've got no complaints with the body shots, they were borderline though. The stoppages was a load of shit but I think the fight would have ended the same way just a bit later on.

He's leaning over but I still think that's low.

Doesn't look any lower than the shot that Khan stopped Judah with. Think it's one of those that'll always divide opinion.

Was pissed off I woke up for it. They were all low imo. One shot was before that big right too. The stoppage was also crap. You watch the slow mo and it gives the impression Kov took a knee but in real time it's clear he's responding to the referee.

I'd sue if it was me. Disgraceful officiating.

It was a disappointing end to what I thought was an enjoyable bout.

For those who missed it though the ending to the Rigondeaux vs Flores fight made the end of the Ward-Kovalev fight look standard.

About 5:20 onwards.

Got to agree with most of whats been said on here. I think the shots were low, but also think Ward was well in control of the fight. Ward would have still won even if Kovalev had been allowed to continue.

Andre low-blow Ward. No chance that fight should have been called there. I suspect Ward would have won on points, but Ward went low a few times before the controversial stoppage and it had a definite impact on the fight.

Ohara Davies vs Josh Taylor on Channel 5 now. This should be an absolute corker.

It pissed all over the BT card anyway. Daniel Dubios against some guy who looked like a super-middleweight and Yarde against some nobody as well.

It all seems a bit too coincidental for my liking. I bet he's got a fight with Selby lined up.

Inevitable. A boxer against someone who wants to be one. Still, Mcgregor lasted longer than I thought he would, and even took a few rounds at the start.

Aye, only to be expected. Reverse the situation and Floyd lasts half a minute in a real fight maybe. It was actually more entertaining than the entire under card, which was a complete dud.

McGregor doesnt want to be a boxer. But Mayweather isn't fighting him in his domain, and the UFC man goes back to his sport a much richer fella.

You could see Mayweather was a shadow of the fighter he was even five years ago and he still won. Take him back to his prime ten years ago (so both him and Mcgregor would have been the same age) and that fight wouldn't have gone past 4 rounds.
