How would you feel if it was the Grecians in this predicament Trapdoor? I'm not sure you'd be so keen then WTGR.
We were in that boat in 2003 and our owners quite correctly were arrested and sentenced for fraud. We ended up surviving in the conference simply due to the hard work of the fans to deal with the cva and a lucky fa cup draw.

Ever since then I've hated private ownership models because of this sort of shit.

Why hasn’t Stewart Day been investigated by the serious fraud office yet? This guy is the real villain behind this sorry state of affairs!
I’m fairly sure he is being... not for Bury but his high-profile business collapse with unsafe student accommodation

It was always going to go to the wire. That's what happens with deadlines and why there was probably no need to wait until this point to have one.

A deadline 3 or 4 weeks ago would've brought the same outcome and could have saved the last few weeks waiting.

The deadline should have been June 1st as it would be if the EFL grew a pair and adopted Non-League style AGM rules. Every other club would know what was happening in August then and Notts County and Yeovil would have found out if they'd avoided relegation.

When is it likely the EFL will give further sanctions to Bury (for all the postponed games) and Bolton (for deciding not to play their game last week) if they are both to stay in the league?

Obviously it'll be after their status is decided but will they be getting further points deductions or something?

I think that points deductions are the least of their worries right now.

Deduct a million points off us as long as we stay alive with decent owners tbh.

EFL do want they want when they want.

Considering Bolton v Brentford was supposed to happen in May and we are now nearly in September I wouldn't expect anything imminently.

IF and its a bloody big If
we get to play NOBLOT on the 8TH traditional hostility is suspended
I do not wish expulsion on anybody, even them.
And should 1 of us not be here I would suggest a JOINT protest at EFL HQ
(that will have Forrest Green scratching their heads after last season)

If you read the EFL rules it's a discretionary thing, they have a separate disciplinary for every game cancelled, so they're going to be busy!

I heard that the disciplinary for the game Bolton had off last season was due 1st week of September. They need to be quicker with the others, if Bury and Bolton survive, otherwise we'll get to the end of the season and still not know about points deductions which may effect the table should one or the other avoid relegation.

I'd expect 3 points coming off for every failed fixture apart from the one Bolton just decided to postpone themselves, think new owners could face a very hefty fine and enough points off for them to just relegate themselves now.

Those in the know are saying not to worry. In honesty I'm fucking shitting myself. Let's hope that by 5pm today there is an announcement that the takeover is completed and Sat's game is on.

Just given him a hug!
He's had a season ticket bought for him and if we play on Saturday, he'll be leading the team out.
That's what football and indeed life, is all about.

Fingers crossed Kenny lad

So you were in that situation, didn't get booted down to the Devon League or wherever and were able to survive thanks to the hard work of the fans, but don't think Bolton or Bury fans should get that same opportunity?

Id given up hope a long time ago and everything was fine until Friday where its possible again. I still fear the worst today/tonight but at least we remained together as a fan base and got rid of that cancerous toad.

Good luck to AFC Bury next season whatever level they start at assuming they get set up.

The EFL needs to do something to stop the asset stripping of football clubs. There needs to be solid rules in place and harsh penalties for anybody that attempts it.

One or two men have been allowed to destroy Bury FC for their own financial gain.

This may sound callous given the timing but I listened to the Radio 5 podcast that was interviewing people from Bury on Saturday and a number of the fans said that even if there was a phoenix club created after the closure of Bury a lot of them wouldn't go as it just wouldn't be the same club.

Its a fucking heartbreaking scenario, one that I just cannot imagine how Bury fans are feeling.

Why did it breakdown I wander? Last I heard they were doing diligence on the financials and what debts and to whom were owed. Possibly an issue with what was discovered there?

So the EFL statement says C&N have pulled out entirely, not just refused to buy today and requested more time. Worst possible news.

No more postponements now. Time to draw a line.
