Thought Ball out bowled Broad and then Woakes out bowled Finn (not too hard at the minute). After a nervy start Misbah got in and showed his class on a flat deck. Didn't see the last two wickets go down as I was playing myself. A nice placid wicket for our fragile batting line up to get in and get big scores when it's our turn.

Also, sadly Michael Carberry has been diagnosed with cancer. Hope everything works out for him.

As for Carberry really sad news indeed. I hope they caught it early enough in order for him to make a full recovery, it's brilliant to see the cricketing family come together at a time like this.

Sad news about Carberry, hopefully he can overcome it, Petrov can hopefully be an example to people of what you can still do with life.

As for Cook playing at 42, don't see why not playing until 40 at least, he doesn't bowl, has a limited shot selection and does what he knows will work for him, added that he's probably extremely fit as well, no reason why not.

He served his time and now he's back. I have to agree that as an 18 year old surrounded by players you grew up watching and respected he didn't have much hope when the pressure was on. I'd love to see Amir get back to how good he was pre-ban.

Not quite sure how we have managed to lose so many wickets to spin today considering the pitch is supposed to be flat and pretty lifeless. We need to get somewhere close to their total and then have our pace attack take some early wickets. This is a game that could quickly get away from England as I wouldn't like to be chasing 250-300 in the 4th innings on this pitch

Outstanding death bowling by Brad Wheal for Hampshire on Sky.

Sussex have been royally fucked over by a terrible umpiring decision though. Clear wide down legside when 3 runs were needed from 2 balls that wasn't given and meant they needed a boundary off the final ball. Very odd/poor decision.

It was a truly bizarre decision by the umpire not to give the wide, although saying that Sussex should never have let it get to the last few balls considering the very average score they were chasing down
