It is. Shades of Matt Carter taking 7-56 on his debut for Notts at the same age...and then has played just 2 matches since. I really hope this Newell/Moores thing is just to avoid the humiliation of an England selector getting sacked. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near this Notts side he's wrecked in the last few years.

Well we've now got the test of getting Duckett out before he hits 70 (70) +, twice!

Absolute carnage at Taunton. 21 wickets falling on day one.

Somerset running through Warwickshire in their second innings. Somerset still with a chance of an unlikely title chance?

Leach needs to tour alongside Duckett. Both have been superb.

Duckett with 2619 runs across all formats this season which is astonishing.

I'd take Leach but I can't see them taking 4 so it'll be Rashid, Ali and Dawson. They probably could take 4 though with the all-rounders we've got.- in which case, yes, Leach has to go over people like Batty and Patel. Mason Crane maybe? One of those you hear loads about but I can't claim to have seen him much.

EDIT - Just realised I've missed Borthwick but not sure he really counts as a spinner anymore

That's England's best T20 side apparently. Not for me, I'd have Mills/Wood ahead of Jordan/Plunkett and Billings instead of Ali. (and Billings/Duckett over Morgan but that's never going to happen).

I find we underrate Jordan somewhat, he's no different and no worse than Willey really, very good late over bowler but gives a few away at the start, just vica versa.

As for Ali, he's a difference maker in our side, Duckett/Billings haven't proved that for England yet, so you can't really say they'd be a part of our best side. As for Morgan though, I agree, he's the Rooney of England cricket.

Ali's average in T20i is 14 with the bat and he goes for 8.24 an over and has taken 11 wickets in 18 matches. That's not a difference maker.

Ali is inconsistent but potentially a difference maker in all formats.

Roy's lucky he got that many there, stinker of an innings - never looked remotely comfortable

This is a friendly at home, Only 2 matches that mattered today and maybe 3 as Somerset could sneak in too if we both draw

He's an average spinner yes, but in terms of batting, he's capable of being a match winner. We've seen it in all formats.

Was the same in Cardiff, the Pakistan fans are fucking weird. Celebrating like they'd won the World Cup after losing the series 4-1..

ODI cricket is the pinnacle of sport in Pakistan isn't it don't turn up for test matches it's the same with the Indians. I personally wouldn't enjoy being at old Trafford tonight outnumbered 10-1 at least at home fuck that

There's surely nothing wrong with enjoying a win when you turn up to watch your team play, even if the series is long over...

That's not really true - the fans in both countries find it difficult to turn up to watch a day of test match cricket but they sure recognise the prestige and importance of it. A lot is made of Indians and Pakistanis not being interesting in test matches, but it ain't true - especially when they're winning!

I'd have loved to have been there tonight, wish I was.

Did I say they didn't recognise the prestige and importance of it. I said they don't turn up for it so obviously odi cricket is there pinnacle which they go and watch in there thousands so stop trying to cause an argument. And good for you why on earth would you wish you were at a match we got destroyed in, got completely outnumbered in attendance and the other teams fans are the only ones enjoying it. Bet it was fucking brilliant but each to there own hey

I'm not trying to cause an argument - you said it's the pinnacle of the sport and I slightly disagreed with you. That's all.

I didn't watch the game but it sounded like being there would have been fun. We've established previously that we go to cricket games for different reasons - you go to support INGERLAND, I go because I like going to cricket matches. That's fine - we're allowed to get different things from the game. Don't be so weird about it.
