Yorkshire now 6 down.. I'd say the 350 target seems unlikely for them but not completely out of reach. Hopefully if they don't reach that total they would rather Somerset won the title over Middlesex

I would personally but I'd still rather try and win it's definitely the right thing to do. It's almost never gonna happen but notts could bat for 5 and a bit sessions so we can't just ultimately presume Somerset have won could lose a session through weather who knows.

Brilliant from bresnan especially , but also hodd we still have a slim slim chance but it's a chance. I think if we did manage to get close to 350 middlesex will just drop everyone back to the boundary they seem incredibly negative. I really have no idea what there plan was this morning. Why stop us getting bonus points it's irrelevant to them. Seems there happy to stop us rather than win it themselves

It's on a knife edge now. Middlesex are still favourites but if Yorkshire get through the first hour without losing a wicket then they are right back in it. If Yorkshire get to 350 then I think they win it.

What odds them being 9 down and crawling through the 340's?

I live 20 minutes from Bristol, in Somerset. A lot of city fans do live outside of Bristol in fact.

A draw wouldn't help them either though so it would seem a bit odd, both teams need a win now. Both results are still possible but it will be interesting to see what the Middlesex captain does regarding setting you a run chase. A lot will depend on whether you get the 350 probably.

Middlesex with 2 dropped catches so far this morning, hopefully the new ball does some damage.

Bres has hit 100's this season and Hodd is no mug either, Middlesex's low first score means the game is still very open.

Bess has just got Libby! Notts 3 down now.

Why on earth are Somerset still batting? Given the pitch and the form of the spinners they should still have more than enough time, but Notts aren't realistically going to chase down over 500.

Rogers wants a second hundred I expect....

Yorks 8 down 17 needed.... squeaky bum time

Rogers gets his ton and that's lunch, odds on us declaring with the minimum amount of time allowed before going back out.

And milimetres from being a no-ball. :eyes:

All three teams still well in this.

Two more wickets for Middlesex before 16 runs are scored and Somerset go favourites over Middlesex.
Yorkshire get 350 they go clear favourites

Notts three down with two of them being run outs.

The draw being taken away from Middlesex which ironically might hurt Somerset.

Bristol's technically not part of either Gloucershire or Somerset, but I live in South Gloucestershire (just outside of Bristol) and we (Glos) play our games in Bristol which helps.

Yorkshire probably favourites now, depends how demoralised Middlesex are after this.. can't see them winning it from here... hopefully middlesexs batsmen don't crumble.

Top knock from Bresnan, was surprised how high up the order he bats for Yorkshire but he's delivered when it matters.

I can't see how your gonna have a chance as surely us and middlesex will force a result one way or another

Not necessarily I don't think. Middlesex might look at it knowing they're probably not going to win and think that they'd rather end up finishing second and get £170,000 worth of prize money rather than £85,000 if they lose the game.

Also, Rogers has confirmed retirement. Nice way for him to go out with a hundred in his final innings then.

I don't think Middlesex are in a position to set up a result. I can't see them declaring. Sadly I can't see them having the bottle to bat all day either. Yorkshire massive favourites.

Yorkshire will try and bowl them out tonight and early tomorrow. If nothing gives then I'd expect a lot of buffet bowling to contrive a result.

They have to try and leave us a run chase of say 160 in 20 overs

Well if they do that then we may as well not bother playing sport had we. If your a sportsman and you have a chance of winning the pinnacle of your club career but don't take the risk and accept 2nd place for a little extra money you may as well just retire hadn't you. Imagine being a middlesex supporter and they did that you'd be fucking furious. What's the point in the whole season and all the hard work to just give up
