Fraser now bitching about the 2 points they lost for a slow over rate in the match that was abandoned due to the crossbow. No way can that be changed as Somerset could easily argue they'd have played differently in all games after that date to reflect the points in the table.

With the news that the ECB will consider Middlesex's appeal over their point deduction in the match cancelled due to the crossbow

Which could mean that Hampshire get the relegation they should have had last year?

If they can't play it in Ireland (as they say they're still looking for a venue) I feel it would have been nice for Ireland to play England at Lords. Nice and local to try and get as many Irish people to their first test as possible. I know England only play 7 tests a summer and future tours program is well organised but it could have been fit in somewhere.

I'll be staying up late tonight as the Women's Ashes starts this evening with the first ODI. Unlike the men's team, England might actually stand a chance in this one.

Plot Twist. Get him on the plane,

Two gay men have claimed Ben Stokes was defending them from homophobic abuse when he was arrested following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub.

The Sun that Stokes came to their aid by standing up to threatening bullies. Kai Barry, 26, and Billy O'Connell, 20, said in an interview with The Sun that Stokes came to their aid by standing up to threatening bullies.

Barry and O'Connell claimed they met the all-rounder and his England team-mate Alex Hales in a nightclub on the evening in question and Stokes bought them drinks. The pair said they had no idea they were cricketers.

It was reported that Stokes and Hales were later walking along the road near the pair, after leaving the nightclub, when Barry and O'Connell were subjected to homophobic abuse.

The Sun: "We were so grateful to Ben for stepping in to help. He was a real hero. Kai feared he could be attacked. If Ben hadn't intervened it could have been a lot worse for us.O'Connell told The Sun: "We were so grateful to Ben for stepping in to help. He was a real hero. Kai feared he could be attacked. If Ben hadn't intervened it could have been a lot worse for us."

Barry added: "I'm not a fighter and we didn't want a fight. We could've been in real trouble. Ben was a real gentleman."

O'Connell added: "Ben is a really nice guy and I hope he can still play for England in the Ashes. It would be awful (if) his career was ruined over this. He was just trying to help defend Kai."

That story was known a few weeks ago but not publicly announced. The shit stain of a paper that the sun is edited footage of the incident to put Stokes in a bad light, now are revealing the rest of the story as England prepare to leave just for the purpose of selling more.

Excellent bowling performance from England to win the 3rd ODI and get right back in to this series. The score is now 4-2 to the Aussies with the test match (worth 4 points) coming up next.

Is there nobody else that's not even remotely scared of that Aussie squad? Our line up batting wise may look weak and inexperienced and our bowlers do struggle when it's flat but that has to be the least ominous looking Aussie squad in decades.

The new bloke Bancroft got a double hundred the other day. But yeah, their batting is average and I’m surprised they’ve left Maxwell out. Their fast bowling will cause us some right issues mind. Got to watch Lyon too, I’ve never rated him but figures are excellent.

I think their bowling attack is probably better than the one that took us apart last time we toured there. However, any time we can get Warner and Smith out cheaply, we'll have a chance cos their batting line up is nothing to be scared of, other than those 2.

I don’t get annoyed/emotional about many sports other than football but one thing I cannot stand is losing to the fucking Aussies.

Hopefully the knocks by Stoneman and Malan will be a sign of things to come over the next few weeks.

Liam Livingstone and Mark Wood are in the England squad for NZ. So is Stokes at the moment, but I'm sure he'll get withdrawn closer to the time.

Ballance, Ball and Curran are all dropped but it's the same squad apart from that.

I'm pleased that Livingstone has been given a chance and if Wood's pace is up again, he'll be a real asset. I had hoped that Roland-Jones might be fit and I'm a little surprised that James Vince has managed to retain his place.

Roy and Root pushing us towards a win in the first ODI.

Can the latter finally get to 3 figures?
