Yet Stoneman keeps his place after scoring fuck all this season, Buttler has also proven to be an atrocious red ball player but genius white ball player.

Probably just about avoid an innings defeat not that is much of a consolation. England have been thoroughly dominated by Pakistan from the first ball of the Test match all the way through.

England under Bayliss have done some great things in the shorter formats however under him the Test team has been declining to the point this team is now virtually a constant embarrassment in this format.

Finally got a decent partnership going with Buttler and Bess, nice to see them two digging in at least. Not that it will affect the overall result.

Bess on debut has looked more of a Test match batsman than half the top order.
