Helpful conditions granted but that was as good a bowling performance as you will ever see from England. All them pitched it up and looked like taking a wicket every ball. Anderson was simply brilliant and I think Woakes on another day could have had a couple more also.

Hopefully will be a bit more batter friendly and can get a big lead.

Weather permitting don’t see this Test lasting much longer. Broad on one of them hot streaks he goes on from time to time, literally unplayable when he’s like that.

Ollie Pope in the Test squad :woo:

Good luck to the young lad. Now he's in the side I hope he does well, but it's so frustrating to see Surrey players again picked ahead of players I believe to be better. In this case Joe Clarke, who is also a more natural fit for the number four spot.

Admittedly Ollie Pope is currently in better form, but for me Clarke is a much better player and should have been picked before now.

Pope looked okay yesterday but for me much too loose in his technique for a test match number four.

Stokes found not guilty of affray. Have to admit am more a little bit surprised by this but then again that’s only going off what has been reported on it. Even so wouldn’t bring him into the squad for the next test match, go with the same eleven let him have a few days off then look at bringing him back for the fourth test.

Seems like he has been called up but agree with you Kieran - be harsh to drop Woakes after his Lords performance.

Even though Stokes has been acquitted the saga hasn't looked good (just think if it had been a Premier league footballer!?) and it seems the ECB will still punish him and Alex Hales.

Harsh is an understatement, he won't be dropped anyway, stokes is not exactly in his finest run of form, he's still good though obviously when he isn't, now this is over he can get back on track for good. Basically got away with knocking 2 people out on cctv, shows what money can do to get a good solicitor.

He has got away with it TBF, very very lucky not to get done with at least assault. Okay circumstances as he said maybe (backed up by the gay guys), but you cant just go and do that and to be fair he was the aggressor looking at the CCTV even if he overheard something.

Kent’s unbeaten run against Somerset moves on to about 6438 games now.

Stokes straight back in - probably no surprise given the fact he walked back into the squad and was giving the backing of the coach.

It’s bollocks in my opinion.

The side just trounced India so absolutely no need to make any changes, first of all.

Secondly, Curran is obviously going to be a class act and is the future of English seam once Broad and Anderson retire. Should leave him to have a run in the side especially whilst confidence is high.

Thirdly, if you’re going to bomb anyone out. One of the spinners.

If we accept Stokes has to return to the side (which I don't), I think Curran is the only one you can take out really.

Very early days but I think England made a mistake bowling first. This pitch looks very easy for batting. A little swing but nothing threatening.

Also not a fan of losing Curran from this bowling attack. One of the big improvements to the England attack has been that left arm over angle and do not like losing that.

Bad day for stokes, easy to say he shouldn't have come straight back in now, well to be honest he shouldn't have I think we all agree on that. India slight favourites anyway now.

England batting collapse once again. In fairness India have bowled well but 7 wickets in one session with more to come probably is abysmal.

Enjoyed a good day at the Test yesterday with the bonus of watching Kohli bat for a while. Also reminded me why I like Trent Bridge as a venue so much, good value and great atmosphere, I’ve got two days tickets and a hotel for the price I would have paid at Lords for one day. Gutted they don’t have an Ashes Test, it will be back soon enough.

Can’t see today getting past mid afternoon, it was going round corners last night with the forecast for humid overcast conditions today, but looking forward to it nonetheless.

Sad to say given his contributions over the years but at some point in the near future I think it's time for England to move on from Cook. Take out that double century he got in Melbourne and his average must be horrendous for the last year or so. Just think his best days are now behind him.

He probably knows this himself but there is nowhere else to turn.

For years, England have been looking for an opening partner for him and still haven't succeeded. No chance we're going to find a better replacement aswell.

Exactly, no one good enough to partner him never mind replace him.
