Agreed, but he now looks more dis-interested than ever, kind of like he knows his best is gone but keeps going out of habit. Jennings isn’t the answer either, unless the ball is gunbarrel straight he just doesn’t have a clue, looked all at sea this morning, and I think he knows it too. What the answer is though I have no idea, there is certainly no one in the county putting a marker down in what has to be the best opportunity to stake a Test claim for years.

Well done Jos Buttler, maiden test ton. Proper innings that was. Won't stop India winning probably tomorrow morning but nontheless great boost for him for the remainder of the series. Just a shame we didn't see out that opening session better before conditions became a little more comfortable.

This will be a case of famous last words but Cook has looked better than have seen him in a long time. Been lining it up nicely. Sadly the other end not so good. I know it swung but that Jennings dismissal did not look good at all, I just struggle with how he’ll ever score runs at this level.

Wouldn’t mind so much if they were got out by the bowlers but a lot of these wickets are batsmen fishing at balls that are not even threatening the stumps. They just seem to never learn.

I love t20 and probably do enjoy it more than test cricket most of the time however winning the ashes in Australia is as good as it gets. Fully agree too about 100 ball shit but it generates money so will happen. Test cricket will be a non event in 20 years imo.

Jennings' dismissal is laughable, it's an embarrassment. He's woefully out of his depth. Not that the others are much better, they can't bat in English conditions let alone abroad. Awful from England. They're not learning and I doubt they even care. Blademan is right, test cricket is on the way out but I think rather 10 than 20 years.

Well batted Jos Buttler and Sam Curran again. Must be so demoralising for the opposition seeing them two coming out to bat after removing the top order. Root batted better today though thought he was perhaps a tad lazy running between the wicket on his dismissal.

Surrey will win the league with a record total that will never be beat. Yorkshire or Lancashire will go down with woucestershire.

Kent have somehow managed to gain a first innings lead. Henry gets a career best of 7-43. Been ridiculously impressive this season.
