It's beginning to feel a bit like 1975 when they brought in David Steele to halt the tumble of wickets.

Well least there will be a result.

Can we manage to hold things together to set a good target ?

I thought we'd be 4 down when we passed the 85 lead NZ have , but already 3 down at 30.

Joe Root has scored 1 in 24 balls. I know we've got some big guns out and NZ are a decent team, but this is absolute shit.

Not as if it’s tricky pitch abroad or under lots of cloud !

Been watching the England Women v India test match. It's been enjoyable and good quality so far. India had a huge batting collapse and went from 167-0 to 231 all out. England have just enforced the follow-on which looks like the right decision on this occasion as there's rain in the air and it's already day 3 of 4.

Have dipped in and out watching it. Very impressed with the batting technique of Sophia Dunkley, could teach a couple of the mens top order a thing or two there. Katherine Brunt bowled an absolute beauty for the ninth wicket, out-swinger clipping the top of off you don't get better than that.

Meanwhile looks like the WTC final is going to be a washout at this rate which is a bit of a shame. Would love to see NZ win it.

Yep, I'd love for NZ to win it too. Shame they're not holding it in Manchester, the weather up here is nice today...

Aye doubt they'll get back on now. Got to say for the Indian women Verma is a joy to watch, definitely one out of the Sehwag school of opening the batting.

Yeah, deffo. Mandhana is good as well, although she'll be gutted with the way she got out in the second innings.

In the end got to give credit to the Indian tail there they did really well to pull themselves to safety. Well done to both teams though, hope it brings about more women’s Test cricket as that was good quality. Normally you only see them in that points system they use for the women’s Ashes.

Meanwhile looks like India will be the happier of the two sides in the WTC final. Kohli really done a good job for them.

Wonderful start to the day by the NZ attack getting Kohli and Pujara. Just love the way NZ play their cricket with both bat and ball. India essentially 45/4. Hopefully NZ can go on and win it.

Not enough time I reckon. As much as I'd laugh me knackers off if India get walloped.

Aye am inclined to agree, think that win predictor thing has draw a big favourite also. Just looking at the runrate throughout the test I think anything over 3 per over on a chase is going to be very tough.

India all out. NZ need 139 to win. Fantastic performance with the ball especially Jamieson and Southee.

Just hope Latham and Conway can get away to a good start and think NZ have got this fingers crossed.

Absolutely brilliant NZ, really happy for them especially after the way they handled the World Cup near miss. More than worthy champions!

Been a brilliant effort with the ball by England so far. Saqib has bowled extremely well and really like what am seeing with Parkinson. Seems to bowl it very slowly but his control is impressive.

Not bad for a team cobbled together last minute.

Absolutely brilliant from Saqib and pretty good from Parky too. I've loved watching them for the last few years and it's great to see them get a chance.

Saqib had some really nice rhythm to his bowling. I’d definitely have him on the Ashes tour thinking ahead. I think he could fill the role Simon Jones used to.

Phil Salt has tried playing almost every single shot in the book both offside and legside. We’ve only had 6 overs.

Got to admire the fearless attitude, certainly won’t die wondering.
