Really tough to go there and get a result

Their last five home games before today:

Georgia 1-2 Ukraine
Georgia 0-2 Germany
Georgia 2-0 Malta
Georgia 0-4 Poland
Georgia 0-1 Ireland

They're ranked 147th.

Get in there Georgia. They've given us a lifeline.

We need to finish Gibraltar off in the second half. Massive game on Monday.

Really great chance now but I'm still a little cautious. Lots of stuff on Twitter and the BBC website about "book your hotels now". A draw against Romania isn't a bad result for Hungary - they'll believe they can get something against us. We must stay focused.

Great that at least 3rd is now guaranteed though. I'd fancy us in a playoff vs Scotland or ROI.

It's tough for Scotland to go anywhere and get a result in fairness.
It always has been for us. Yes over the years we have had some terrific away results, but we have always struggled for goals ever since I can remember. I had a bad feeling about this one yesterday. Not over by any means, but it makes it exponentially tougher to grab third place now.

Glad you said that Alty because I was sitting here thinking the same. Wales are almost there as they've got a larger cushion to 3rd and an easier run in. Whilst you're one win away, it's not inconceivable to think Hungary could win at Windsor and then a home match with Greece looks easy on paper but in reality a nervous Northern Ireland against a nothing to play for Greece is dangerous. Away to Finland in the final game isn't easy either.

I just hope they get the win against Hungary because I have a feeling if Hungary win and close to within a point, it could go wrong. I feel like Romania will pick up 7-9 points in their last 3 games so Hungary will be targeting the N Ireland match as a great opportunity to nab 2nd considering they follow it up with a game against the Faroes.

So England and Austria will get their ticket today while Iceland, Wales and Northern Ireland will if they win their next game.

Yes, expanding the Euros to 24 teams was indeed a fantastic idea...

I'm very happy to see Shelvey and Stones starting.

I was hoping to see a Clyne - Smalling - Stones - Shaw back four but I'm sure we'll see that plenty of times in the future.

Get Shelvz off. That pitch is an accident waiting to happen.

San Marino should walk off the pitch after that decision.

Doesn't that just sum up Rooney's England career. A dodgy penalty against San Marino.

Hopefully Rooney gets another one today so people stop talking about the record. He's either the best player ever to play for England or a sunday league player, apparently.

England are so bad that they need San Marino to score and own goal to help them.

England have done very well to qualify from this Group of Death, especially with Rooney carrying them.

I wish we'd stop picking Milner. If Welbeck deserves to be in England squads based on England form then Milner deserves to be no where near the team. He doesn't 'put a shift in', he's not especially good defensively as people like to say and he's not reliable, other than to be reliably mediocre.

1 - 0 down to Georgia, good old Scotland, we always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when there is half a chance of qualification. I must be a masochist to support Dundee, Liverpool and Scotland! :ffs:

You balance it out with Barcelona, though.

Great to see a fellow Evertonian become the greatest England player ever.
