How many is it you give away fans in the Gordon Road Stand? Imagine we'll have 300ish for the game next month.
Crawley have been allocated 750, and they’re also allowed to pay what they like for tickets, if they want more they can probably have them but I doubt they’ll need them. That’s the open end behind the goal and a covered block in the stand at the side.

Hartlepool and Colchester had only the side stand and brought 250 and 500ish respectively. Basically you can have whatever you need.

About 300 mate. If we've picked uo a bit the south east Mariners possé might bump it up to 400. Was really just checking if you put away fans in the GR before giving any in the scaffolding. I was born in Chatham and my dad's a Gills fan (although he's seen them only 3 times, all at Grimsby, since 1987) but I've never been to Priestfield. Still unsure if I can be bothered to book time off for this one

Do you not think it'll be similar to Southend last season? That was over 500 midweek.

That was Friday, wannit? Think that'll make a bit of a difference with not having to get up for anything the next day or booking time off work

Yeah tickets are sold in the GRS first, sometimes home fans are moved out if they’re expecting a slightly larger away following, there’ll be no problem getting tickets I’m sure.

Gillingham and Grimsby, your dad got a raw deal there!

No that was a Tuesday mate, we played them on a Friday at BP I think? I definitely went to work the day after Southend and I don't work weekends.

hahaha didn't he just. Glutton for punishment. More accurately Gillingham to Immingham but I don't think that makes things any more salubrious. Not a man of fine tastes though my Dad, so it's probably suited him all in all

Shouldn't have doubted. I thought we'd traded Friday fixtures for some reason. Maybe we could edge up a bit then if that extra journey time and being a bit crap doesn't put many off

Oh you know what I think it originally was a Friday, but it got rained off. That must be what you're thinking of. I think you're definitely right about our next results influencing the following though. I bought my Crawley ticket today, purely because I didn't want to have to make the decision on the day in case I'm feeling lazy.

First fans forum on Thursday night with the new owners, glad they sorted that quickly.

A couple of interviews with Brad today, he knows how important it is to stay up and mentioned a 5 year plan to get back to the Championship.
The more I hear from him the more I'm excited for the future

Most come out and say it don't they?

Tbh I think the signings are being made are not just a bout survival this year but looking at a promotion push next season as long as we do survive this year

Fully agree DVR. We all know the football gods have a habit of p!ssing all over the best laid plans.

Thing is, you’ve got to have that plan regardless. And this guy (and his family who all seem invested) seems to have the business nous and some financial clout to set the scene, provide some funds, get the right people in place, then hope to see it develop and blossom. Fingers crossed.

Stay up is the first challenge. He’s admitted that is his first priority.

He is saying all the right things to be fair, and whether he delivers them or not at least there's a sense of optimism around the club which hasn't been here for years. End of the day, all fans really want is hope.

Talk of bringing the women's side back as part of the club which is a good move for obvious reasons, talk of investing in the youth setup which in fairness has produced a few players over the last few years but can always be better, but the main focus right now is making sure we stay in the league.

He seems to 'get' it pretty well. Whatever happens in the next few years we'll wait and see, but it's just nice to follow a club with a buzz around the fanbase again so I'll enjoy that for the time being.

Up the Galinson.

The scaffolding could possibly come down this summer, and a new stand with a roof built in its place

This was Lee Power's 5 year plan FWIW.

It could be worse, a guy I used to work with was born in Luton and lived there until he was a teenager until his family upped sticks and they all moved to Grimsby.

Keith Millen brought in as head of academy coaching, so along with Kenny Jackett and Andy Hess, that’s 3 former league managers working behind the scenes
