Good - The first half of our game against Barnet, on the opening day of the season, exciting football and we went two goals ahead. Unfortunately we couldn't hold that lead and the game was drawn. Doing the double against Coventry, sorry to deflate a few egos but they are the biggest team we have ever faced in league action, felt pretty damn good.
Bad - Could equally count as ugly, some of our fans shouting abuse at two of our players, one of them the son of the manager and the other a young goalkeeper on loan from Chelsea. With the former I suspect it was because the perpetrators didn't like his dad, with the latter it was probably because he wasn't Sam Russell. In both cases they are young players starting out in the game...you should never shout abuse at your own players, regardless of how badly they might be playing, encouragement is a better motivator.
Ugly - Challenge on Dan Wishart by a Luton player when we played them at home. Dan was jumping to try and head the ball when his forehead was involved in a collision with the foot of a Luton player, he was patched up and battled on, the assailant was sent for an early shower...some bloke sat near to me, on seeing the incident, said "he should get a yellow for that!"...if someone did that in town on a Friday night they would be spending a night in the cells.
Plenty more in each category, but those are the things that stand out for me in a season that should have been so much fun but for many reasons has been far from that. Hopefully we stay up and next season is far less traumatic.
