So, who do YOU think are the greatest players ever to play in this glorious league since the 04/05 season? At least I think that was when it started getting called League Two anyway.

For me it has to be Michael Bridges, now that may be my biased opinion but it's a valid one because he was for me a world class striker that season playing in L2 and something special for Carlisle as he really helped us win the title in 2006.

As for any others, I would have to probably say the likes of George Boyd and Craig Mackail Smith for Peterborough.

Discuss!

Tom Pope in 2012-13 during our promotion season was phenomenal, top scorer and IIRC one of if not the top number of assists in the league too! He was pretty much unplayable that season. Considering his goal tally this season in a dire side with virtually half our goals he would probably be close to matching that this had we been feeding him as we did then.

Lee Hughes consistently for Notts County and then Port Vale.

In terms of biggest name ever I guess Edgar Davids would have to have that one!

Jason Puncheon (2006-2008) for me. It was clear that he was going to go far right from the start.

Nick Powell was abit special for us in our last promotion season. Certainly head and shoulders better than anyone at the time.

Stuart Tomlinson!

He was ok until he started really working out to get into WWE... then the ball just bounced off him! The amount of times a long ranger he went to claim and it bounced off his chest for a tap in!

Funnily enough, he was pretty shit until he started working out too. He was about 7st wet through when playing for us.

I was just getting nostalgic about Lady Vale's meltdown when he wasn't voted in some team of the year on the old TFF.

Sol Campbell?

Not many league 2 players have scored in a Champions League final.

Don't see how though, last time he featured at this level he was a Shrewsbury reserve and not that it's really an indication of greatness at this level but the amount of money his transfers have accrued only really confirm his status as a lower to mid table premier league journeyman.

Aaran Pierre for the previous 2 seasons as he was a superb central defender who popped up with a few goals as well.

Everybody needs to agree on Sol Campbell being the best ever player otherwise he'll accuse us all of being racist.
Twat.

Campbell was awful he got outplayed and out thought by Morecambe!
This will be controversial and it will get the mods twitching but Lee Hughes goalscoring was immense although he only spent 1 season in League 2.

Yep, can't judge someone on their past, only good things to say about Hughesie. Top lad, good laugh and great with the fans, happy to sign autographs for the kids etc.

Remember a load of us joining in with "The Hughesie" on the terraces when he scored in a 2-1 win v The Fish, after the original game where we were getting battered got abandoned due to floodlight failure. Good times.

So this is only from 2004? Bit of a small sample size.

If it was 2001 and the same level, it would have to be Jean-Louis Valois.

Edgar Davids??
Although Stanley fans didn't see much of him - he got sent off in both games he played against us...
Speaking of big names did Neil Lennon play for Wycombe in this division?

Some of the best performances I've seen against us came from that Peterborough side that got promoted around 2007/8 - I think some of their names have been mentioned above (they smashed us 8-2)

I would ask the question whether the greatest player means the player who has been the greatest over their career or the player who was greatest at this level. However it would be a moot point as Rakish Bingham is the answer to both questions.

I'm not surprised at your celebrations as that was the first time you'd managed to ever beat us in 8 attempts.
You've backed that up well though by beating us once more in the following 6 games so you're getting better, baby steps n all that.

How does an average ex Mansfield and Hartlepool player get you and Hellogregory so wet?

If you love Bingham so much then why don't you MARRY HIM??
