Thank you that's very helpful I wish I could give you two likes! We were going to check out Corvin but the music seems a little soft on the Friday night for us but might still try to swing by. Everything that I read about VIII makes me think I will like it there so I am glad we're there seeing as I didn't really check where the hotel was. In regards to Durer Kert the nights going on until past 6 am so I think we'll be there all night. :)

Yeah we'll usually buy tickets for public transport because if we get caught it's probably not wort the hassle for us. Thanks for the advice about Lampas might check that out before Larm! Let me know about the open mic it might be good for after the weekend. :)

I gave it a 2nd like for you, Natch.

I fucking love Porto; my best friend is Half Portuguese from Porto so been there many times. Quality city, Super Bock is probably my favourite beer in the world.

Superb city, it's literally got everything. Very reasonable price-wise, historic city centre, good nightlife, nice beaches and Afurada is amazing if you're into seafood. Got a few mates there who I met at uni so i'm going back for a third time, I could happily live over there.

Got back from Stuttgart last night, definitely not the prettiest city i've ever been to but it's decent enough. Managed to stay out till 5am both nights so can't complain considering we only went for a piss up. Calwer-Eck is a great little place, brew their own beer upstairs and some of it is lethal, good food as well.

Brno was awesome. Beautiful city, good company and amazing people. Really glad we decided to go.

Going to Ljubljana in 2 weeks with a mate of mine at uni, which should be good as it looks a stunning city.

Big fan of Brno, was there over the summer and visited the Macocha Abyss and the caves which were nearby. Did you visit the Ossuary and see the mummified monks? They love themselves a corpse or two over there.

Strarobrno is a great beer too.

Anyone got any ski resort location reccomendations?

We'll be going in a few weeks, probably 13-21st Feb. Previously done Andorra (Pas de la cas), Germany (Oberstdorf) and Austria (Salzburg). We want somewhere lively if possible but struggling to find anywhere that's convienient travel wise.

Val D'slere is taking our fancy at the moment but it's a logistical nightmare so close to the time. Anybody shed some light with any previous experiences?

My girlfriend and I have a few days off work in March and we intend use them for a short city break. Ideally, it would be somewhere that is a few degrees warmer than Manchester is in March but we're not necessarily looking for guaranteed sunshine. We thing somewhere like Lisbon, Valencia or Seville might be nice. Does anyone have any other recommendations?
I may be slightly behind but how long did you stay in South America? Thought you were still there.

You are a little bit behind, yeah. We left in November 2014. We only managed 4 months in South America, although I desperately want to return. We went to NZ and Asia after that and got back to the UK In May of last year.

I'm looking to go away with my GF for a few days in April. Obviously for that period of time would rather stay in Europe. I guess we are not going to get anywhere particulraly warm at that time of year so was thinking of something a bit different. Currently looking at Copenhagen or Stockholm. Reykjavik looks a bit out of price range atm.

Does anyone have any experience of Scandinavia and recommend anything? Literally looking at 3 nights tops.

Booked my Thailand flights last night, less than £400 return which seems great value to me.

Doing Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Kampot and Siem Reap at the end of May.

Right fellas...

I'm booking my stag doo soon for early next year and leaning towards a City break. Any suggestions?

Ignore Dublin, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Riga, Talinn, Prague, Berlin & Frankfurt as I've already done them.

Not considering Stockholm or Copenhagen either as I haven't made it to Director just yet.

Cheers.

Barcelona seems to be a popular city break atm!? Take in a football match at the same time?

We had a great time in Budapest. Weekend is a blur but we enjoyed both nights we went too. The techno night at Larm was really good, the club itself is a traditional small dark sweat box. It's also above a ruin bar which I think people who are more into commercial stuff will enjoy - it was banging in there it seemed and they had a really good MC when we walked across the balcony upstairs so would recommend it.

Durer Kert is massive. Brilliant event for a psy trance party spread across 4 rooms. They also do metal nights here through out the week it seems so worth checking out what's on if that's your thing. Looked like they had some sort of festival there the following day and it's certainly big enough. I was well impressed with the weekend nightlife and they have good dance nights on every weekend. :)

Although we didn't manage to get out before 12 on any of the days we managed to see a few sites such as the castle, citadel, city park, Fishermans Bastion (Beautiful) etc. We also did the Szechenyi Bath's on the Tuesday. I found the indoor pools a bit boring, just a load of people sat around in slightly warm water. Outside was brilliant though and swimming in warm water while it's 0c outside is really enjoyable. I'd do it again.

I couldn't find any bars playing dance music in the early part of the week. :( I generally found it hard to find bars that I liked but that will come after a few more trips, we did find a ruin bar in 8th district on Monday though and they were playing what I assume was Hungarian folk music which was cool but I didn't get to join in the dancing as my girlfriend felt a bit ill and I couldn't catch anyone's eyes to join in. On the Tuesday we dropped in on Szimpla Kert on our way home and while I appreciate it gets busy at the weekend it was quite good on the Tuesday - they had a future Jazz band playing who were really enjoyable and also the cocktails, while probably expensive for Budapest were pretty good! I think as it was the early part of the week it was obviously going to be generally quieter.

Overall I found the City to be really enjoyable. It wasn't rammed with tourists due to the time of the year and this meant we were able to wander around the main sites relatively easily. All the food we ate was really nice too - don't think we had a bad meal and plenty of vegetarian options. I also didn't feel like anyone was trying to rip me off or force me to buy stuff that I didn't want which is always good. I think we'll be back in the spring/summer one year. :)

Edit - We do think we almost got robbed in a park on the first day but managed to get away when some other people came into the park.

I enjoyed it. The skiing itself was really enjoyable, you can literally ski the length of Andorra and then just get the bus back to pas after. Loads of different routes and difficulties.
The nightlife was the only thing that let it down but that was more down to us than anything. We went in the half term break last year so there was thousands of kids and not so many people our age. There was still enough to have a good time, plenty of bars and clubs.

Where are you flying to and driving/getting a transfer from? We went into Toulouse last year and had a courtesy car upto Andorra which seemed a good idea until we actually got on the mountain where it was pretty ropey. Don't go for the Fiat 500 Large if you ever want to drive in bad conditions up a mountain.

We still might end up there in a couple of weeks, we've not booked Val D'lsere yet and it's not getting any cheaper. Have a good one!

Going to Paphos in July. Can't wait. Been twice before but still looking forward to the weather and a trip across the border into Northern Cyprus.

Looks like I'm most likely going to Portland Oregon! Excited for it.

I'm also thinking about my next trip after that. I'm thinking of a 3 stop trip to Asuncion - Montevideo - Buenos Aires. I've been to both Montevideo and Buenos Aires but never Asuncion. It just sounds like a thrilling trip.
