Right, good folks of TFF....

In the process of planning my stag do, or more specifically the location.

Got my heart set on a trip to Germany, possibly with a Bundesliga game thrown in for good measure. Options are:

Munich
Düsseldorf
Hamburg
Berlin

Now can anyone tell me if they've been to either or multiple of the above destinations and, even better, share your opinions on what's the best (if you have reasons other than "it was dead good", then that'd be appreciated).

Thanks all!
Have been to Hamburg and Berlin, and for a stag do I'd definitely go to Hamburg. Night life is great there and the Reeperbahn is the kinda place built for stags.
And as for the football, go to a St Pauli game.

Going to Budapest in June for 4 days. Any decent sightseeing trips and/or bars that the good folk of 1FF can recommend?

If you go back to around Page 15, Budapest is discussed pretty in-depth.

I'm going to Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote for Christmas this year, supposedly close to 20 degrees in December. I'm not really big on Spanish resorts but i'm going with the family.

I've been to Berlin and had a good time for football but it never struck me as a decent stag city to be honest.

When is your stag? I'm going to Hamburg for a boozy weekend in November so could report back but I'm guessing you'll want to be booked up before then.

Missed this before I replied.

Great to hear about Hamburg, looking forward to it.

Any suggestions for a holiday location this summer? We want somewhere which is a mix of sunny seaside with decent nightlife but also stuff to do during the day time. Mix of city break and piss up.

I also vote Hamburg. I'm sure Berlin has some nice places to stag around but it's almost too big. A night on the Repperbahn is usually memorable. I once had magic tequilla a couple of years back. No hangover whatsoever.

Had a great weekend in Dublin. Seemed to be more foreigners there than Irish. One of the friendliest places I've ever been.

Went to Barcelona last week. It was brilliant.

Going in a few weeks the night before England's match in Marseille. I've been a few times before can't say I'm it's biggest fan but oh well

Encountered a Catch 22 with our efforts to get visa for China and Tibet. Chinese won't issue visa in UK without Tibet Travel permit. To get Tibet Travel Permit (issued in China) need to provide copies of passport page and visa.

Attempting to get a visa with revised itinerary that excludes mention of Tibet part of planned trip. Deal with the permit when that's sorted.

Fingers crossed.

As in the weekend just gone? What did you do?

It rained the whole weekend, and temperatures were better in the UK, which isn't something that happens too often. Glad you still had a good time.

We were there from Tuesday-Friday so we left Barcelona as it started to rain and got back to the UK just in time for the nice weather here so we timed it pretty perfectly. The weather was gorgeous for the first 3 days and just a bit drizzly on the last day.

We spent a lot of time just walking round and enjoying the city and squeezed in a few of the usual tourist things; Sagrada Familia, Nou Camp, beach etc.

Beirut last weekend. Great city.

Very relaxed and friendly, despite the heavy military presence, which I think was largely de to the local elections.

East Beirut is very European, lots of bars, cafes and the like, while West Beirut still looks a bit Fucked after the war.

A photo looking down the coast from Byblos, with Beirut in the far corner...

Off to France for 5 days in early June.

Looking for a place to go for a week in mid-September as well. Probably decided by cheap flights on Skyscanner.

Was in Madrid last weekend. Rained all w/e + went to the Madrid match. Surprised that it wasn't a sellout. Good entertainment tho. Btw where do people usually go to get hold of Madrid or barca tickets?

Get bladdered cos there's fuck all else to do
It was fine. I get how you can get bored after a week there but for a weekend it's a great place to walk around in. Went to the 44 uprising museum which was interesting albeit disorganised and a nice walk around (saturday night was museum night which means that all museums are open till 1 am). On Sunday, Legia won the league and the fans were very, very pissed.
Oh and I pulled. So yeah, it's good.

Dachau concentration camp is a good day out, short train journey away

Obviously have to go to one of the bier halls as well, although most of the are just full of tourists

Stage 1 of the ploy seems to have worked. Visas arrived and now we begin the application for Travel Permits.
