i agree.

And for whoever loses they’ll have made a pretty penny from being in the playoffs and getting to the final.

Added that there’s 3 games on tv etc.

4 of our last 5 have been on TV which is bonkers... usually takes us 10 seasons for that amount of coverage! As mentioned both clubs heading in the right direction and as Carol said before Swindon Thursday... "Whatever happens we are starting a positive journey".

I'm pleased for DC but doesn't that now set a precedent ?
To be honest I have finally seen the footage of the incident and its a bit of nothing really, he doesn't assault the ball boy for a start which some Swindon fans suggested on social media (one even calling for him to be sacked as he shouldn't be working in his circumstance which is appalling to say!).

He doesn't assault Conroy either, Conroy shoves him and they have a bit of handbags, end up putting heads together nothing more (although Conroy tries to con the referee like he had been nutted).

I guess the EFL have reviewed the footage, seen it for what it is and fined him which is fair enough, I doubt he has received preferable treatment and he has been hit in the pocket.

Aye expecting a similar amount. Add in your sponsors and Club Wembley types etc we're probably looking at a crowd possibly approaching 40000 which is pretty good for a fourth division game. Something that shouldn't be under-rated and am sure it's the same for Mansfield is the club look like they've done a roaring trade in merchandise this week ahead of the Wembley trip. If just a few of those day-tripper types get the taste for coming more often next season out of this then that's only a good thing.
I'll admit in club Wembley because the price was bloody good for the small bar queue, padded seats and view. Went there for England Vs Croatia and loved it.

However, they've got the seating plans wrong here IMO. Splitting up the fans across the 3 tiers ruins the atmosphere and unity IMO.

When we played Shrewsbury at Wembley in 07 it was the same and while it was loud, it could have been a lot better. When we played Grimsby though, they only let them have the bottom tier and the atmosphere was fecking brilliant from them

We`ve only been given two tiers, with the bottom tier more or less sold out and the middle tier about 50%.

Not fussed either way who wins on Saturday, if pushed I'd say Vale purely on the away allocation

See both clubs have sold about the same amount of tickets, great no willy waving about being a bigger club ,obviously hoping for a stags win ,but whatever the result, its been a great season for both clubs

Yep, am pretty at ease with it if we lose. It’s a genuine coin flip game in my opinion. If we do come up short though will be more than pleased for Mansfield and whoever is the loser the club is only trending in an upward direction. May the best team win.

Yeah I think in Mansfield’s case they’ve opened up the top tier also as Forest are down also for the weekend so there may well be some POTD types who choose to take in the game particularly with Clough as manager etc.

Looking forward to what will be a good day though regardless of the result.

Il be gutted if we don’t get promoted tomorrow I’m wanting the win but as you say we are in a good place, in the past a Vale side like this would see it’s best players leave and be sold and have to start again whereas now we have heavy investment and a long term plan so if we don’t go up il be confident we will be challenging again next season.

In terms of the match I just want a big performance first and foremost, if we play to our best and leave no regrets then even if we fall short I can’t ask for anymore than that, if we have a mare or don’t turn up that would be horrible.

Both sides should want it big time so no excuses for either side not putting in a big effort.

Ultimately we’ve made some great memories this season for the first time in a decade and it’s genuinely seen me fall in love with the club again, it had a couple of years or so back got to the stage where I’d compare it to going to a funeral, I went because I felt I had to! Seeing us easily close to ending up like Chesterfield or Notts County but we’ve got our club back and a real buzz. This team this year under DC is so connected with the fan base and it feels like it’s all one again. I yearned for that for years and regardless of tomorrows result nothing can change that currently.

Well hopefully it goes better than our last Wembley appearance against Genoa in the Anglo Italian final. Don’t think I’ve seen us just get completely dismantled the way that the likes of Vincenzo Montella did to us that day. If want a taster for a more successful Vale trip to Wembley Bernie Slaven (one of my earliest favourite Vale players) has put on his YouTube channel some highlights of the Autoglass win over Stockport and a few of his memories from it.

Obviously if we don’t make it tomorrow then it might make it harder to keep Gibbo for example but even so our recruitment is light years ahead of where it was just a couple of years ago and am sure they’ll find a solution.

Looking forward to this game and the playoff semi in the league below, anything to distract me from the CL final and the nonsense that will come with it, we're probably one of the worst towns in the country for plastic PL fans. People doing everything they can to get to Paris having somehow struggled to make it to Anfield for 25 years.

Aye safe journey to all and let’s all enjoy what should be a great day win or lose.

Seems an absolute lifetime ago that we were on the way to open the season at Northampton. Mind you it feels the same about finishing the regular season at Exeter.

I'm not really arsed about which one of Port Vale and Mansfield goes up. They are both Northern(ish), not the hardest places to get to.

Plus points for Port Vale;-
1) Tom Pope used to play for them
2) Slightly easier to get to.
3) My mother lives 20 miles away - so could stop over

Plus points for Mansfield;-
1) My brother lives close by - so could stop over.
2) Very slightly more Northern.

Can only echo everyone else, our playoff final last season was torture from minute 0 to 120 AND penalties, you won't enjoy the actual game one bit!

Good luck to both, may the best team win.

Have a good one Vale and Stags, should be an exciting game. Play off finals are bigger then cup finals imo, nothing quite like them.

the atmosphere at them is usually good - we've only been in playoffs once when we played Staylebridge in the NL North play off final. Everyone knows how far up north Barrow is, Staylebridge are from Manchester and the Final was at Burton Albion's (lego) stadium so way closer for Staylebridge fans. about 90% of the Fans were from Barrow though and it was bouncing all night.

Bloody hell when did Vale have a yellow and black quartered kit? Thought it was a fellow rovers fan for a second.

Good build up, fan zone is decent I have to say. £6 a pint as well, cheaper than my local so no complaints from me

The yellow and black one we had around 1996? It’s a beauty isn’t it.

Got to hand it to Box Park that was a cracking venue pre game. That place was fucking jumping once Penny Arcade and TWOY came on.

Shades of 2013 here, the header that hit the bar was a carbon copy of Hanson’s. This could be over with another.

Shocking from Mansfield for that second goal. Vale on fire here.

Unfortunately for Mansfield, it’s one of those ‘not turned up performances’ scandalous defending and they have probably ruined their chances already. Always capable of something like I’m afraid.

This Port Vale performance reminds me of Northampton two years ago.

Lost the first leg, pulled it back in the second leg then take the momentum into the final. Northampton stuffed Exeter 4-0 that day. This could end up the same if Mansfield don’t sharpen up.
