Yeah I realised a bit later but I don't read the Mail on Sunday and its fantasist nonsense.
Ben, can you explain your avatar please? It disturbs me a little.

Thanks, Red.

Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on that one. You're in your thirties now, which means your aesthetic standards have gone to pot. Plus, all those late Thursday nights, glugging Blue Nun straight from the bottle and watching Question Time and This Week into the wee small hours? Hard to believe there wasn't at least one pathetic wank to the sight of Zak Goldsmith (or perhaps Michael Fabricant) in there somewhere.

 You've got me. But, quite frankly, who wouldn't... ?

MF-Goldilocks-self_2886639c.jpg

Absolutely scandalous accusation. Blue Nun? The worst Pineapple would do is London Pride and that's only if there was no other option.

Quite right. I did, some years ago, receive a bottle of Blue Nun as an ironic gift from my mum, such was my fondness for This Week (I'm a less avid viewer these days, I was all about the Mike/Di bantz and my interest waned somewhat when the latter left). Really wanted to knock back a bottle in homage but I didn't make it very far. I mean, I knew it was crap but it really is even more VULGAR than one would reasonably imagine it to be.

Corbyn in the news today for suggesting women only carriages as a solution to crimes against women on the tube, things like groping etc.

Don't personally agree with it, but at least it's opened a situation up where we can talk about things that maybe aren't in the public eye. Created a positive debate on how to prevent something that is clearly an issue which is to be commended.

They have them on the metro in Mexico City for children and women where it is extremely busy and not so regular as the London tube.

It's not a bad idea and actually works out well, especially helpful for travelling with children.

It's not really relevant but I'd love to kiss Stella Creasy.

Got an email with my online vote today. Went with Watson as deputy. I didn't even want to choose Kendall as my fourth choice.

I don't know whether you're on Twitter red , but the leadership contest is becoming increasingly bitter . Labour councillors and high ranking officials are in open warfare . I'm not sure if these divisions can ever be healed whichever way the vote goes .

No, I don't use twitter or Facebook. I had a feeling this would happen. I also read that focus groups were undertaken in a couple of marginals and Cooper came out as most popular. It's going to be an interesting few weeks.

Bliar poking his nose in again.

I find it incredibly sad , decent people within the labour movement like Ruth Jones ( for corbyn ) and Rebecca Moore ( for cooper ) being castigated and often viciously attacked for their preferences. I know Twitter is generally the battleground of dickheads but some of it is bordering on illegal . Some of the people within the labour movement need to have a serious look at themselves .

Owt I'm missing in particular? I vaguely try to limit who I follow on there.

Calderdale Council's Arch Tory was in the paper yesterday warning us all about Corbyn and how he had intelligence that many of his Labour chums in the chamber had sympathies for the man. Oh no!

Follow Rebecca Moore and Ruth Jones or have a look at some of the comment directed at burnham or corbyn . ( or cooper and Kendall tbh )

Yeah, there's no need for that sort of thing. Regardless of what happens now whoever wins the leadership contest will have to acknowledge that a significant amount of people in the party want the party to move more to the left.

That is definitely the case , there should always be clear red water between us and the Tories , especially at a time when a conservative government is getting away with policy that thatcher would have shied away from . I want Corbyn to win but some of the people I would normally consider " comrades " have come up seriously short as human beings . I don't expect anything better from the likes of Blair et al tbh .

Corbyn's words being taken out of context this evening for saying it was a "tragedy that Bin Laden was killer, because he should have been tried", unsurprisingly plenty are neglecting to mention the last part of that sentence, and I'm pretty sure one newspaper has run with the headline including only the first part. Things like this are just wrong, a legitimate and fair comment smeared to bring him down - disgusting.

But he's a threat to the establishment. Should be more aware that if he breathes weirdly it will be used against him.

I'm getting seriously fucked off with the constant stream of emails about this contest now. I can't wait for it to be over.

Anyone still waiting for their ballot?
I got mine as an e mail last week.

Corbyn at The Crucible theatre, Sheffileld. He comes on at around 53 minutes, preceded by Hulk Hogan.

What's not to like?

So the ballet has ended and we find out Saturday who has won.

Claims are that as much as 20% of applicants didn't receive a ballot paper. However Labour say ballots had been emailed and posted out correctly to everyone entitled to vote. So that's clear as mud.

Ballet? More of a pantomime I think!
I received my ballot early on in August without any problems. Maybe it's because I joined as an affiliated trade union member rather than through the £3 route.

I got mine the same way around the same time.

I saw Jack Straw on the news today prophecising doom if Corbyn wins. Jack Straw sheesh.

I think it just shows how afraid all of these politicians, who are situated in this unappealing centre-ground, are of someone who is completely changing the political landscape.
I think the most astute thing Andrew Rawnsley ever said was that New Labour even at the Blairite apotheosis was still the smallest political party in the UK. Looks like this election will confirm that.

We've got a guy like that in France. He's an idiot. Just like Tsipras he'll be popular but ultimately fail in whatever endeavour he takes on.
