The new Jurrasic World is awful. After the first one, a lot of people fixated on the absurdness of being able to outrun a dinosaur wearing high heals. Every moment in this film is equally or more absurd than that, and it plays like something that should have been straight to video in the 90s.

It was hard to watch at times, i'm no fan of Pearce usually but i thought he was bloody brilliant as the sick in the head preacher.

Seriously disturbing, but is very well done, me neither regarding Pearce but he does a chilling performance of a man just oozing evil.

Hacksaw Ridge (2016) 10/10

Probably Andrew Garfield's best performance of his career to date, plays Desmond, a feisty kid who swears never to pick up a gun, who wants to go into combat as a medic. A great Mel Gibson film who once again shows his staggering gifts as a filmmaker.

Housebound (2014) 7/10

A New Zealand horror comedy starring Morgana O'Reilly who gets tagged for attempting to break into an ATM - She is then sentenced to house arrest living with her mother and her silent step-dad. Her mother is convinced that their house is haunted, an hilarious and unpredictable horror comedy.

A decent enough film starring Bruce Willis as an alcoholic cop trying to get a witness to court to testify against corrupt cops. 6.8/10.

Small Town Crime (2017) 7/10

It's a straightforward low-budget crime thriller, with a wonderful performance from John Hawkes, who brings Mike Kendall to life with a mildly amusing throwback vibe 70s style. But It's set in the present.

I, Tonya (2017) 10/10

Margot Robbie shines in the best performance of her career as the ice-breaker Tonya Harding. The film was about the most notorious years of her life, from being used as a punching bag of her abusive husband, of her cruel mother, of the unscrupulous means that exploited her case, and of her own self-destructive tendencies. Awesome movie.

A Cure For Wellness (2017) 6/10

I've gotta say really in order to make it through, you'll have to be committed. This movie seems to go on forever, it's a pretty weird gothic psychological thriller that will no doubt keep you guessing until the almost unbelievable ending. Starring Dane DeHaan and Mia Goth.

I quite liked it. It’s a bit of a poor Shutter Island but was intriguing enough. Your mark is about right

Tom Berenger? Haven't heard this name for years. Still acting? Must be nearly 70. I loved him in "Major League"

So, not a good one? Better watch the 60's version of "Battle of the Bulge" with Fonda, Bronson and some German actors then.

edit: Found a clip with the "Panzer-Lied (Tank Song)" :D

Ahhh Robert Shaw, now there was an actor. Excellent in everything he ever did, and looked as if he'd rip your head off if you got on the wrong side of him. The fight with him and Connery in one of the Bond's is still the best one-on-one in that franchises history; and of course he helped write the famous 'Indianapolis' speech in Jaws, which is for me the most terrifying thing in that whole film. Great actor. A hell of a writer too by all accounts.

That was a classic film, In the film Berenger looked bloated and about 90 years old which is sad to see when for me his best performance was in Platoon as Barnes,i've seen him in many other films which were decent but this was shite.

Absolutely. Robert Shaw has this special "aura". I really liked him

btw: The German actors in the above scene were Werner Peters (as General) and the brilliant Hans Christian Blech (as Feldwebel (Sergeant) ). Both excellent actors.

Was Hardy Kruger or Max Schell in that too? I can't be bothered looking it up, but it seemed anything to do with the war, one of those two would be in it also!

The Accountant (2016) 6/10

Not really a huge fan of Ben Affleck but with a supporting cast of the likes of J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal and Anna Kendrick I thought I'd give it a shot. Affleck's performance is weirdly inert and awkward, and he looks slightly uncomfortable at times, the film was probably a bit silly but undeniably entertaining.

Colossal (2017) 7/10

With the attractive presence of Anne Hathaway in the starring role this film has a strange mixture of comedy, melodrama and fantasy, with a series of twists and turns that goes pretty well. And Hathaway is terrific.

El Topo (1970)

Surreal acid-western that was just as bizarre as I'd hoped it would be.

8/10

Milano odia: la polizia non può sparare (Almost Human) (1974)

Desperate scumbag racks up a sizeable body-count during a poorly-planned kidnapping.

8/10

Milano calibro 9 (Caliber 9) (1972)

Fantastic poliziotteschi about a man accused of stealing the money involved in a mob deal and intentionally serving a jail sentence safe in the knowledge that a large sum of money is hidden away for him to collect upon his release.

Wonderful performance from Gastone Moschin.

9/10

La mala ordina (The Italian Connection) (1972)

Part two of the thematic trilogy started with Caliber 9. A similar plot to the first one but with a more pathetic than badass protagonist - this one also has some brutal family slayings to pep things up a bit, too.

Yeah i thought the film was absolutely toe-curling. I wouldn't care their was one or two decent-ish stars in the film. Lucy Fry (Bright and Mr Church) David Mazouz ( Gotham) Jennifer Morrison ( Once Upon a Time). It was baffling how bad The Darkness was like.

Il Boss (The Boss) (1973)

Part three of Di Leo's thematic trilogy. The weakest of the three films, but it does feature a grenade launcher.

8/10

Roma violenta (Violent City) (1975)

A maverick cop loses his job as a result of his questionable methods before being recruited by a group of powerful and rich citizens who couldn't care less how violent he is.

7/10

Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto (Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion) (1970)

My main man Volontè strikes gold again in this satirical film about a homicide chief who murders his mistress and intentionally leaves clues that should easily prove his guilt.

I really enjoyed Colossal. Something just totally different.

Finally saw Justice League. You could really tell some of the shifts between directors, but overall it wasn't 'that' bad.

Yeah i thought Colossal was funny, and quirky, and a unique film.

I thought Justice League was slightly disappointing, the thing is, there is stuff in this movie i did like, but the end result is just so jumbled it was a bit of a let down.

The Birth of a Nation (2016) 8/10

Based on a true story that Nate Parker writes, directs and stars in a film about Nat Turner as a preacher and his Virginia based slave rebellion in the deep south, on balance a really powerful film that tells an important story, one too often ignored in history. Also starring Armie Hammer.

Warcraft (2016) 6/10

The way this movie ended their is surely another one in the pipeline, It's not bad if you like Fantasy & Adventure Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones type of stuff. The performances are solid, and the special effects are impressive, but the film was a bit disjointed. Starred Travis Fimmel (Vikings).

I watched the 2013 remake of Carrie last night, quite good and almost up there with the original, lots of blood & stuff due to the power of telekinesis.

Il cittadino si ribella (Street Law) (1974)

Carlo (Franco Nero) is mugged and decides to hunt down the elusive gang responsible and take vengeance personally, having lost faith in the justice system.

Great film with a fantastic soundtrack.

It also features a shootout scene, towards the end, that ranks among the best I've ever seen.

Confessione di un commissario di polizia al procuratore della repubblica (Confessions of a Police Captain) (1971)

A film about the power of organised crime in the city and the lengths two men (a police captain and a district attorney) will go to uncover the truth and clear the path to justice.

My mum always had a thing for Franco Nero. I only know him really through Die Hard 2, and being married to Vanessa Redgrave.

The Founder (2016) 7/10

The film is entertaining with an impressive performance from Michael Keaton as (Ray Kroc).
A sad story about the McDonald brothers (Dick and Mac) done in by a ruthless businessman.
The story is probably a little bit ugly, and definitely casts those golden arches in a whole new grubby light. Starring Michael Keaton, Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch.

The Nice Guys (2016) 7/10

Who would have thought that Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling would have such great comic chemistry, the cast, the story and tone make this a film worthwhile. Starring Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling and Angourie Rice.

Uomini si nasce poliziotti si muore (Live like a Cop, Die like a Man) (1976)

Baby Driver 8/10
Great Flick. More action than comedy. Music gets 10/10.

Wind River 9/10
Solid and smartly written crime story. Establishes atmosphere and tension in the story perfectly.

Sicario 9/10
Superb Mexican drug war movie. Non-stop grit.

The 12th Man (2018) 7/10

A decent film despite the slow start about a Norwegian resistance fighter called Jan Baalsrud, aptly named as the one that got away after his 11 comrades were shot dead during a thwarted allied sabotage mission against the Nazis in occupied Norway. Starring Thomas Gullestad and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Jason Bourne (2016) 6/10

After watching the rest of the Bourne franchise i thought i might as well watch this one. Although it's not really quite up to the standard of the original trilogy, it was still a neat and entertaining action movie with some high-adrenaline action scenes. Starring Matt Damon, Tommy Lee Jones & Alicia Vikander.
