The idea is to keep interest in the game constant rather than spike every time there's a new release or major update every other year.
There'll still be paid DLC no doubt for things like additional skins, and there's also the possibility that the extra characters will come in a paid option and a free unlockable version, as it was mentioned that you'd earn additional characters via gameplay. So it wouldn't surprise me if you had to download an update and then unlock the characters through achievements but there was also a paid unlock for those who can't wait.

Having had a look, Alex will be free to d/l in March, so yea it looks like they'll stagger the free versions of characters but give a buy now option for the lot.

I guess this staggered thing isn't as bad as not letting people have them at all unless they pay... but still, it's all money grabbing as they know people will be impatient.

Eh. I know I like SF too much to be able to pretend that I won't get it, and I also see from reviews that what is there in the game is about as good as it's ever been in a SF game. I ought to check it out, I guess.

I got Pokemon Yellow from the 3DS store. Dat nostalgia doe.

Saying that, I'm talking nostalgia for my old Pokemon Blue. I never actually owned Yellow until 2 days ago. I feel like it's filled a void in my life. It's old as fuck and so many things you take as standard aren't there... such as fucking RUNNING SHOES?! WHERE ARE MY RUNNING SHOES?!? And the ability to change Pokemon in battles against trainers when they change Pokemon. But it's still awesome.

Currently got my Pikachu kicking arse, and just leveling up my Charmander. I've also been using a Butterfree and a Pidgey, but those guys can fuck off once I get better replacements. Oh and I also went and got myself a mother fuckin' MEW last night because I looked up the Mew glitch thing which I never even knew existed. I'm pretty sure I've never owned a Mew before. So I think, officially, last night was when I actually caught the 151st of the orignal 151 Pokemon... so yesterday was the day when I... finally... caught 'em all.
