Tell you what, that’s a great call by the ref on reflection. Watching it live it looked like he fell over and as he fell the ball hit his hand. Good thing I’m not the ref!

Deserved win in the end, Bradford were a shadow of the team that smashed us back at their place earlier this season.

McCall shouldn't go on record saying we don't practice defending in training, it's no surprise we defend like that. I'm sure lack of signings will be in full focus which it should be, and could be blamed for the Northampton game, but we were near full strength today and go 3 at the back and play a midfielder in defence, baffling by McCall not for the first time. Turning into the bottlers he created in his first spell which took until Parkinson to rectify. Reeves gets a hard time from fans, but he's far more use than Dieng and Vincelot, comfortable 1-1 until he went off then we got totally over ran.

How are we still top 6!:fl:

Chuffed with another good result.

Important to win that with Peterborough and Rotherham both winning.

3 wins on the trot, some players beginning to come back from injury. Fosu changed the game today after missing the last two months, so plenty to be pleased about today in respect of on the field.

Wish the season could end now, would more than fancy us to beat Shrewsbury over 2 games.

Today was just not our day at all. Nothing seemed to go right for us whatsoever. Every shot we had was blocked and we just couldn't score. Fair play to Gillingham they battled incredibly well and deserved the win. Tom Eaves and Josh Parker were both quality and destroyed our defenders every chance they got.

Feel good win today. Done the double over Pompey (but more importantly, Jackett!) and thoroughly deserved. Scoring so late made it feel like a cup final lol but, overall, I'm shocked at how negative and poor Portsmouth were. We've beat teams 5-0 this season that contributed more to the match than they did today, where the only ambition seemed to be to try and grind out a 0-0. Which thry so nearly did! Bradford and Scunny next up, dare I hope for four points from those?

In addition, it was said last week that Bury fans thought it hilarious that we bought Michael Smith from them, which had me worried. Well today, when he came on, he made a real difference. Showed good control in possession and also put the cross in for the winning goal. What was so funny again?

Bit like Rotherham fans telling anyone that would listen how Lee Frecklington was by far and away the best midfielder in league one and then him ending up in league two.

Christ Bradford were bad today. What's happened to them?? We were brilliant second half. Only one winner once we got the equaliser.
Ellis Harrison fantastic again. Liam Sercombe, what a fucking bargain at £150,000. What were Oxford thinking letting him go?
Great to see we seem to have sorted out our defensive problems. 2 defeats in 9, unbeaten in 5. Not conceded 2 in a game since Gillingham over a month ago.

Don’t worry play like we have last 3 games and you’ll win at a canter. Scunny maybe tricky though.

:lol::lol::lol:

Hard to find much to get excited about in our side at the moment and it shows - the only thing any Oxford fan cared about was applauding Maguire. We were absolutely toothless, even when looking for a winner.

Can't complain about Bury taking the points today but wouldn't get too excited based on this alone. We didn't work you at all and we lack pace, inventiveness, savvy or skill.

Highlight was seeing grown men shouting abuse at players applauding them, as always. Also a rumour that Clotet shushed the fans when we scored but can't take much joy from what I didn't see.

I think if you look again I said he was the perfect forward apart from the fact he can't score. If he gets between 5 and 10 goals between now and the end of the season I'll hold my hands up.

Thats our first away win in nearly a year, not scored in over 15 hours before today! Please don't take this away from me.

Where can I start? No players, squad depth is beyond a joke, (non existent) recruitment policy is a farce, players out of position, no competition, 3 defeats in 5, 7(?) at least home losses, defeats Vs the bottom four sides, can’t buy a clean sheet, one man team, don’t look like scoring from open play, incredibly vulnerable at set plays, physically weak all over, crap atmosphere hanging over the club because of what I’ve listed... all in all we’re a joke at the minute and it’s hilarious we’re still in the PO’s given how we’ve been for large parts this season.

You come to us soon, so it might be 2 wins. Visions of a Hanson winner and silencing the kop. It’s been a meh season from the start since losing the playoff final, think if that happens it’ll actually be a high point.

Other than that though it’s going well.

In all seriousness couldn’t have put it better myself.

I don’t think they’ll be the last set of fans to say this about us, so you might want to save this to save time next game.

Always funny when people comment on something they know fuck all about. Frecklington was absolute quality and will always remain a Millers legend. However advancing years and an increasing tendency towards injury meant that a decent money move back to his hometown club for what may be his last contract was well earned by him and probably the right time. He would still walk straight into our team, however. Make no mistake. None of which has anything to do with what I posted, but seeing as you decided to have a snarky dig.

Fair enough. It wasn't aimed at you though, just the general gist of comments in varoius places.

Having been a Rotherham supporter for several decades, and seeing us lose at home to bottom of the league teams many times, I won't take the three points off you for granted, if it's all the same. I'll still be as trepidatious as if you'd won ten on the trot. It's how I approach every game, lol.

Think we all do as supporters, but it's a struggle with all going atm to see us going to a half decent team and getting anything. When we gave the penalty away today the players didn't look arsed tbh, all does not feel right, I have questioned on here a number of times about how I think we have mentality issues and I stand by that regardless of what anyone else thinks. I don't think we have a lack of ability, early season we got some cracking wins. Obviously injuries don't help, but I sometimes struggle watching McCall teams as they seem mentally weak, this going back to his first spell in charge. Parkinson didn't have great players and the football style wise was poor to watch most of the time, but I enjoyed it more for some reason. It was us against them backs against the wall mentality, we used to get slated by opposing teams and imo that's better, last year we got so many complements for style of play and some fans lapped it up who cares!

I think you're spot on, it was the same here when Evans was in charge. Now, we can play alright, but there was a big doubt over whether we still had that mental toughness. There are signs of it lately though.

We have looked tired for a few weeks now, our small squad is starting to catch up with us and whilst there is no shame in being behind Wigan and Blackburn's financial clout, personally, a sense of frustration is creeping in.
Todays game should have been dead at half time, even more so after 50 mins. Donny weren't in itbut hung in there and got back in the game with their first chance and then what looks like a huge goalkeeping error from Henderson (though he was adamant he was pushed over the line) pulled them level. Having seen it again he was certainly impeded by no.5. From then they were the only team that looked like winning. We were lucky to get a point.
We have a game in the checkatrade on Tues which Hurst is taking seriously but I would rather be shot of as more important games are upon us and players need a rest.

Bradford City this season reminds me of Sheffield Wednesday up in the championship last season.
