That midtable section is so tight. Anyone from Newport upwards has a chance of the playoffs.

What could either work for or against us is that we have to play pretty much that entire chasing pack, minus Newport and Exeter, as well as Carlisle and Colchester who are currently on the playoffs. I’d be very happy with a top half finish so as long as we play with some freedom for the last few games I’ll be pleased.

If I had to predict, I think the current table won’t be too disimilar to the final one, with maybe Exeter taking FGR’s place.

I think the rest of this season could make or break Flitcroft's future as a manager. After a good run of form a couple followed by a couple of defeats, I have noticed a few eerily familiar comments from Stags fans.

Haha, do you seriously believe that?

Whether we believe it or not doesn't matter- every manager we come up against mentions it, states this is "the benchmark", "need a strong ref" etc etc etc.

Don't matter what us minions think- managers seem to believe it to be the case. Maarmia reaction yesterday after the draw (being interviewed) was akin to the Norwegian commentator from the early 80's when Norway beat England. He was ranting like he'd just won the league.

Well we’ve got a good team - the injury to Hayden white is a big loss and his replacement yesterday was hopeless.

He has to go up this season, after things went so badly when he took over last season (only half is fault as the players downed tools) he’s been given a massive budget this season.

If he fucks up again he’s done in my view

He did that last week when we played them off the park and they should have finished the game with 6 players moaned about the ref, wouldnt take much notice of a manager who spent his career trying to hospitalise better players.

Not followed this thread, or Lincoln, so genuinely interested the reasons Lincoln are the scalp everyone wants? Can’t see any scalps in this league. We’re all shit tinpotters.
Speak for yourself.

Exeter are far too big for this league with their illustrious history of rarely playing above this level.

I think the delusions of grandeur is what makes this division so magnificently tinpot. I used to love the likes of Man City and Leeds in Division One having hissy fits at slumming it with us lot. Having that attitude taken on by the likes of Lincoln and Exeter is just unsettling.

Especially as both would be lower mid table in the natural order. Better question would be which is the 2nd most tinpot team after FGR.

I'll be keeping a close eye on Lincoln opposition manager post-match interviews from now on, as I strongly suspect you're exaggerating here. God save us if Akinde falling over and jumping up and down infront of the 4th assistant is the benchmark though!

He has plenty of previous. Exeter win a game and he’s all over the forum like a rash.

Lose a game and he becomes Lord Lucan.

Only like impish or that UTS - the bury fan. We seem to have a few of them

The result was disappointing yesterday but I'm not too downhearthed. We've had three very difficult games and only lost one of them to a very strange goal. Two tricky away games to come but then it gets easier. We won't go up automatically but still a good bet for the playoffs which will disappoint a few on exeweb who would rather we finished eighth

You have a very good team, I can see that based on our two fixtures, the league table and of course that long unbeaten run. Flitcroft though can panic if he loses a couple of games. He had ludicrous backing with us in 14/15 and nearly messed that up, then with even more massive backing of borrowed money he could only manage a laughable 16th in league one.

Looking at the top three, despite me saying I want Flitcroft to fail I think all things considered assuming we go up (massive if), but I'd take a fixture with Mansfield, (good away following, fairly close by), over FGR or Franchise next season.
If you did go up I would be hugely intrigued to see how Flitcroft does in league one with a competent chairman behind him and without the laughable pressure of 'Championship aims' being placed on him and broadcast in the media by a joke like Stewart Day.

Hopefully we’ve been decided to stop being useless now and we have a run of games until April that look relatively straightforward.

Then April/May is massive. Lincoln at the beginning of the month, Colchester away and Mansfield at home as our last two games... we could still sneak autos but we need to go on a run similar to when we went up to the championship.

2 defeats back to back for us and we’re now just 2 points above 4th. Hopefully this gives our lot a kick up the backside, Last time we lost 2 back to back we went onto win 4 of the next 5. That will do

They’ll need to put in some effort and commitment first, won’t win anything playing like they did Saturday, jones looked hopeless and yeah. Not good

If we can beat FG on Saturday that’ll be a big bonus for us.

FGR are going to have a massive say over the next 5 weeks because they play just about everyone up there - Lincoln, Mansfield, MK, Carlisle, Colchester.

Jones looked like a fish out of water Saturday, Worries me because I was hoping he impressed so Flitcroft puts CJ up top, who was equally as useless mind. Maybe a case to drop him but I don’t think that will help, Get him on the ball and tell him to get running at full backs.

Not quite true though, is it? Are you still upset that your seasons over and you'll finish mid table? Still confused by your presence on here..

Deserved to lose on the weekend, Bury the best side to visit SJP this season

Couple of tough games up next for Exeter. Back to back defeats and you'll be able to join the midtable party, my friend!
