We are up to 4th now with 7 wins in 8 games, keeping us up there with such massive clubs like Bury and Mansfield that have been bank rolled, oh and they're two teams who we have beaten this season by the way.

But I guess we will still be overlooked as promotion/play off contenders by you lot.

You do speak bollocks.

No Mansfield fan would ever call us massive and unless it’s UTS I dare say no bury fan would be either.

Bury do well to get the attendances with the clubs they have within 30 miles, do you even have one within that distance? And you still don’t get massive crowds? (Sorry to the regular Carlisle fans on here)

Well done on beating us both, are you above either of us? Oh.

I was being sarcastic about you and Bury being massive for L2, but the way your fans act on here you make it look as if you are.

Im just annoyed that we are still getting no recognition at all despite how good we have been especially since November. People are still favouring Exeter and Colchester ahead of us and they have both been inconsistent over Christmas and we thrashed Colchester 4-0 at home and they looked like dog shit.

We beat Bury away who apparantly have the best home record and we beat Mansfield at home who have the best away record, we drew away at Lincoln and we were unlucky not to win, but no the mighty Forest Green are still better than us according to some.

What's this mighty Forest Green shite Carver, I've said I think you're going up and none of our fans on here have been bullish about us at all.

We’ve hit a massive “bump in the road” according to Tis, and yesterday was as poor as we’ve been for a long time (I missed Cheltenham on Boxing Day, mind). No real flair from the middle of the park, and weve missed Healey since his return to Cardiff just for the fact that he chases everything down and we defended from the front. Hopefully we’ll have some good news on that front this week.

We’ll get over it but we’re now very much just part of the pack.

Things like that happen though, it’s nice to have a feather in your cap of both us and bury.

Mansfield lost in consecutive games to Carlisle and Yeovil. We’re still better than both those sides, the table tells me that.

Will we end up better than Yeovil? Obviously. Carlisle? Who knows. I don’t and haven’t gone round saying anything about Mansfield

Going back to the promotion thread.

Expected win for Lincoln yesterday. Good comeback for bury yesterday, brilliant come back from Mansfield (both against sides with playoff aspirations expected for Carlisle against a struggling Cheltenham.

Shock defeat for MK and Exeter seem to be struggling after stockley got sold.

Lincoln can really pull away with a win over Yeovil Tuesday night - who’ve already beaten 2 East Midlands side in a row, and FG should gain an easy 3 points against Grimsby

I know you are ok but it's some fans of other clubs who are being bullish like the Lincoln fan on here called 'Impish', that lad really gets under my skin.

Woah woah slow down Carver. You're able to watch the games on Ifollow at HMP Durham? Good god, I guess some people are correct when they say being inside is better than living on your own trying to make ends meet.

The two promotion chasing CUFC's travel to fortress Gresty Rd next. Only Mansfield in the top 10 have beaten us at home in the league. I expect Colchester to play into our hands a little as they try to play alot of football but Carlisle already beat us in cup in a very ugly game with a 90th minute winner so I'm expecting that to be the tougher and certainly the more physical game.

I think the term bankrolled for the current team is stretching it a bit.

Aha, you won't even make playoffs wee man, top 12 is a good season for the little Cumbrians, be realistic and just be happy with another season of 4th tier footy

Just done some predictions which will be well out come the end of the season no doubt but I get this...

Lincoln 96
MK 88
Stags 87
Bury 86

In that I’ve only got Lincoln and MK losing 2 more games and us and Bury losing only 3

If we got 86 points and didn't go up I’d be just a bit miffed...

Mate, how fucking big is Lincoln?

If you win the league this season then you will be by far the worst footballing team and biggest cheats to ever win L2 with those fat pub league strikers you have.

Mate, how fucking small are Carlisle?

Your manager left you in the League 2 playoffs to join a club in the conference relegation zone! That's how small you are. Can you imagine Cowley leaving us to join Maidstone haha jeepers!

Feel free to keep it going.

In fairness that 3-0 win at yours didn’t really tell the tale, you were more than a match in the game, just for once our shooting boots were on

Our next game against Grimsby is a real test as to whether we've turned properly shit, or just a blip that every team has each season. After losing at home to Crewe, surely we have to beat Grimsby who haven't scored this month and can't buy a win.

Beat Grimsby and I'll be confident again. If we lose, then we are looking at the playoffs instead of autos.

We spent 7 years in League One before coming back down here and we became a well established L1 team for most of that time, I can guarantee that you'll come straight back down because Matt Rhead won't last a second in that league he'll be all over the place.

Matt Rhead hardly starts anymore and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Put a sock in it Carver. I made very specific instructions that we were not to be mentioned in this thread. Much rather nobody notice us sitting in 4th place and we sneak our way into League One, THEN you can laugh at everyone else.

You ain't going up. We'll beat you in the PO Semis before dismantling Tisdale's MK Dons in the final. It's written in the stars.

I like your pessimism. You’d fit in well at Mansfield.

I think Lincoln would do just fine in league 1. Dare I say it but I think we would too if we were fortunate enough to go up.

It's not pessimism, just superstition and realism. Before the season started we were worried about relegation; our manager and a host of players turned down new contracts, the board spoke of making cutbacks, the fans protested and attendances continued a sharp decline. Then after a good start we were cautiously optimistic that we could avoid a relegation scrap, then we sank down to mid-table with a run of five home defeats without scoring and gifted Macclesfield their first win of the season. We could just stabilise ourselves there and take advantage of the headstart we had given ourselves. Our downward trajectory was mentioned in the relegation thread and experimental 361 ranked us as the worst team in the division. Then we won seven in the last eight, found ourselves in fourth place, with the third highest goals for and the second most wins, despite our manager being lured away by the glamour of a Conference relegation battle. We're not getting carried away, we've lost some important players in the last couple of weeks, the division is still tight and teams have games in hand on us. I don't want to jinx things by saying that we're now promotion contenders even if our form suggests we should be.
